    Thank God. Been trying to find someone to show me this and for the life of me I couldn't get any good videos for the floating axle. You are awesome, thank you so much for this

      Thanks for your feedback Joe! I take alot of time putting these videos together for people. I enjoy helping folks with this sort of thing. Best regards!

      Yah man! Your vid totally helped me today. I saw the tool you were using had the inside tube- the one I was using didnt. Made taking that nut off impossible, because for some reason it was ridiculously tight.

    Best video I found. Couldn't find the axle o-ring anywhere. Would be awesome if you posted the Part numbers. I'll go first. Inner seal: 370047A. Inner bearing 3994. Outer bearing and race Set38 from Timken came with both. (4949 was the bearing.) The outer race everywhere told me was 392A but that was a lie. That size was too small. Also the race driver kit from Harbor Freight didn't have a large enough size for the seal or race so I used the hammer and soft taps with a punch to go back in. Didn't even take the other one side out. Outer bearing races were easy. I'd agree two hours uninterrupted if you have the parts and tools. I was swapping rear ends and also swapping the original hubs and brake assemblies over since they were new and I was waiting for Autozone. I was outside from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. but I also had to disconnect the rear end and roll it over.

      Man what a trip! Thanks for your input! Yeah I hope you got her taken care of just don't get into a hurry in regards to making sure everything's right. The difference is mine was in a garage and you were stuck at the store it sounds like, as soon as I get a minute I'll double back and make sure I posted the part numbers in the video. But yeah in the description I'll throw the part numbers down there for other people. Best of luck!

    just replaced mine and did all new drums, boots, springs, ect. I took it for a spin today and the passenger side started rocking terribly and it was like the entire hub was gonna come off. Any idea what could’ve caused this? Improper installment bad bearing packing i’m not sure i’m new to this truck and looking for answers. great video thank you.

      Ahh yes. F250 I'm guessing? Check the locking hub nut. If it fails it will back off and scary things will happen happen

    Are you sure the 10.5 uses the same part numbers for the Axle Shaft Seal and the Wheel Seal?

  • @JefforeySiegel
    @JefforeySiegel หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Did the hub seal. Two days later leaking agian? What gives? Wonder has alot of miles and the axle tube is worn??

    • @ChaosExplained
      @ChaosExplained  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @JefforeySiegel could be spindle is worn to far, or the seal is installed backwards. "Oil side" touches the inside of the hub where all the oil flings around.

    IMO should always remove the pan, this ensures the case is clean, and to change the diff fluid. thanks for the vid.

    It's not a full floating axle, it's a semi-floating. A full floating can move at both ends.

    • @ChaosExplained
      @ChaosExplained  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Semi floating bearings are set in the inside of axle tube. Full floating bearing are sat of inside of wheel hub ON The axle tube.

      @@ChaosExplained I've always heard full floating as referring to the axle shaft and I work on class 6,7,and 8 trucks. The only full floating axle I ever saw was on a set of Mack drop ins.

      @cbmech2563 I hear ya, I don't know just go to Google and look it up. I'm not familiar with class 6 7 8 trucks you're talking about. I tried to drop an illustration in this thread but the thread won't allow me to do it
