With this meme, he fundamentally improved his image. Previously, he was mostly viewed critically and there were negative jokes made about his steroid use. However, now he is perceived with humor and the "Baby, don't hurt me" meme has effectively diffused any critical conversations about him.

I've been a fan of Mike for a long time, which is crazy, because he looks practically no different today than he did in the bodybuilding magazines I read in high school, over 25 years ago.

yeah I dont really understand how this is a meme that demonstrates his "ability to laugh at himself" this is a relatively tame meme in comparison to others and certainly isnt making fun of Mike and is actually showing him in a good light (literally at his own modeling shoot)
I started to love Mike after his reactions to the current meme situation. He is a very cold guy and a very nice person.
