Sorry if this video is a little shaky. I'm still new to recording VR so I haven't quite got it all figured yet. It should be fixed in the next video :)
What seems more shaky is your steering input. You're not someone who drives like Sir Jackie Stewart at least, who is of the camp the smoother the better.
Yea I know what you mean. In my opinion it cant always be smooth, as a racecar has a stiffer suspension, and no comfort + the bumps on the public road that longbeach is, the shaky headcam just makes it much more realistic.
Jimmy, look at your view settings. G movement and world movement. It will help the VR shaking people will comment about. Drop them down to the 15-25 range.
Dude though its a good idea to set them as you say ... even if you set it to 0 it will still shake when driving with an OSW and talking , unless some how Jimmy mounts his Rift on a chicken head on-top of his own head to stabilise it.
Not on an OSW here - V2 Base and GT Omega Rig - but I think in the VR videos I've published in pcars2 seem stable in comparison. I'll update my post with the exact numbers I'm running after work. To add, the excitement alone in this video is worth the watch. Keep up with the VR content! VR needs to be shown in all its glory as its a game changer in our application.
I watched 3 minutes, paused, subscribed, wrote this comment just to tell you your commentary while drivning is beyond awesome. I'm gonna watch more now. Cheers
That was fun to watch. I was you, while you were driving. I, too, talk to myself as I drive. Excellent. A very sincere compliment. Thank you Jimmy Broadbent for sharing. Well done.
This was a good videomate I legit had a good "watching car race on TV" feeling, I even practically rooted for you for that last position haha good video
Love your driving style and your commentary! This looks so amazing, VR and a high end sim rig has gone straight to the top of my wish list should I win the lottery...
Racing can only be commented on with that accent. Any time an american does color commentary for racing it's cringy for me. You really get the sense of the race with him.
Enjoyed that one Jimmy, your enthusiasm really came through and I think you did a really good job keeping up the commentary while you were racing, nice one.
I dont have a particular suggestions for a car / track combo, but please publish more videos :) its so much fun watching you. I have a Rift myself. watching you race inspires me to use the rift more often
Really respect your opinion on sim racing titles. As an Xbox user I have high hopes for Project Cars 2 and I was taken down a notch by your first impression video. Glad to see that your liking it more as you dig in deeper. Looking forward to more Pcars 2 and your thoughts on the handling physics. Cheers Jimmy!
Brilliant drive mate. For that you just got yourself another subscriber mate cheers!

I like how jimmy actually puts the force feedback up higher than most other people. Some put it so low that it seems like you are driving a corolla and not a race car... Plus, the osw also helps :)
Great vid Jimmy. If random buttons are activating on your wheel, it's likely an electromagnetic interference (EMI) issue due to your servo motor. I had the same issue, and you need to ground the servo motor to get rid of it. Your HE pedals controller should have a ground pin you can access and use a wire with lug terminals connected to your servo motor somewhere. That should hopefully sort the issue out.
You got me really hyped for this game! Lol I thought the first one was GREAT, after you're done tweaking with settings FOREVER and getting them the way you want lol. Hopefully this one you won't have to fiddle with the settings to much to get the feel right. Looks amazing!
Awesome fuckin vid!!! The shaking and everything made me feel as if I was right there. I felt as if I was driving it myself and I'm laying in bed watching the video on my phone!!! Keep the shakes. Awesome job!!! Keep the video coming! You got a new suscriber here mate.
Lovely video and driving there, Jimmy =). There's a night and day difference between your first video on PC2 and this. Very happy to see you've come around to see the good in the title. Also glad you can overlook the AI weirdness and focus on the positive in the physics/handling/ffb. Advice I would give is to try out he dynamic stuff. Set up a scenario, where you have a long stint... _really_ feel those tyres overheat/wear down over a longer drive and sense how the car becomes more nervous over time as you get less and less grip and the fuel gets lower. Also, of course, try out the weather! =) Hint - if you drive the same track in the same atmospheric conditions at different times of the year, the track temperature may vary enough to warrant using different tyres altogether! (Think GT3 and softs vs hards - the softs are your weapon of choice in low temps and melt in moderate-high heat scenarios; hards are your choice for anything not wintery that needs to last a whole race)
Don’t apologise. Just like many others watching this, makes it look realistic as!! VR brands should sponsor you, your vid persuades me to buy one!! Choice vids and great commentary.
I hope they add the 2018 aero kit cars down the line, or if not pCARS2, then some other game gets them. They look fantastic and from early reports should drive fantastically too.
AshRichardson F1 hahaha I know he's just playing with the wheel so much. he should try being smoother like Lewis H. He's probably scrubbing so much speed, and making the car unsettled by doing it.
IndyCars don't have power steering, so you feel every bit of the road. The aerokits in the game also have the big bumper pods which add a lot of weight to the rear, so you constantly have to make corrections on the wheel. The aero also isn't as efficient as an F1 car, so smooth inputs aren't much of an option. Watch any of the helmet cameras from IndyCar drivers and you'll see them working the wheel just as much.
Milo Yossarian You’re telling me a racing driver has been beat before? I thought Lewis won every race he was in... Just because he has been beat before doesn’t mean he is not a great driver lmao
you need to try out some gokarts if they have those in pcars 2. they were a blast in VR on pcars 1. only thing i really enjoyed about the game actually. if u think that open cockpit is amazing just imagine being able to look down and see any of the 4 wheels u choose and drive that wheel straight into that apex. another great video jimmer and i was cheering for u as u took the outside on the last corner. well done
is there a way to set up the radio message in terms of "chatiness"? and those stupid lap time deltas? because both actualkly kills the immersion by constantly reminding you that you are in a video game (with complete s*** radio messages that NEVER actually do anything helpful, mnaybe despite for fuel or crash ahead warnings). maybe its just me though...
Sorry if this video is a little shaky. I'm still new to recording VR so I haven't quite got it all figured yet. It should be fixed in the next video :)
Post processing? That's what "The Extra Mile" does and his VR looks pretty smooth
Imo it just makes it more realistic like if you were driving in real life with bumps on the road and such.
Dont change it
What seems more shaky is your steering input.
Was fine for me, didn't have any issues watching with VR or shaking, if anything made it more realistic, like the helmet cam. Nice race there Jimmer!
Jimmy's voice reminds me of the guys who commentate on real life races.
Murray Walker!
my wife thought i was watching martin brundle play video games
howdareyou41 he sounds nothing like Martin brundle
When I first heard him I thought Murray Walker
I live there and i saw when they were doing the lazer scaning
lol
How long was it
Shh... you're just a cute potato... :)
Jimmy, look at your view settings. G movement and world movement. It will help the VR shaking people will comment about. Drop them down to the 15-25 range.
Thanks man!
Dude though its a good idea to set them as you say ... even if you set it to 0 it will still shake when driving with an OSW and talking , unless some how Jimmy mounts his Rift on a chicken head on-top of his own head to stabilise it.
well...he does have some nearby chickens.
though I doubt they'd want to be parted from their heads =O
Not on an OSW here - V2 Base and GT Omega Rig - but I think in the VR videos I've published in pcars2 seem stable in comparison. I'll update my post with the exact numbers I'm running after work.
To add, the excitement alone in this video is worth the watch. Keep up with the VR content! VR needs to be shown in all its glory as its a game changer in our application.
I think it looks more raw as it is. Like the real Indycar helmet cams.
you're like the murray walker of sim racing, contagious excitement
The game looks SO realistic, especially seeing the car being so challenging to drive
How you do this without throwing your stomach content all over yourself is beyond me!
Well done.
Careful Jimi ! don't admit to liking it, folks will start hating you.
I loved this video, I want to get into vr racing more than ever now. Also loved that racing wheel, looks very precise, minimal lag.
I only found this game this year and I’m hooked!! It’s so good in VR
But did the V-Tec kick in..?
With this camera it's an experience.....joy to watch
This experience with Vr looks awesome! :)
That was epic to watch, great stuff dude, can't wait for this to come out
This was a good videomate I legit had a good "watching car race on TV" feeling, I even practically rooted for you for that last position haha good video
This looks epic, was on the edge of my seat watching. PCars 2 might be what finally tips me over the line to buy a VR headset.
'Jeffs gona be hyped though. Bless him'
litterally made me laugh more than it should
Love your driving style and your commentary! This looks so amazing, VR and a high end sim rig has gone straight to the top of my wish list should I win the lottery...
Excellent! very exciting to watch and after the 3rd corner I was used to the shake and it even adds to the drama and realism.
You've got a new sub! I love your energy and the way you talk during the race!! And you drive really wel. Love it.
Racing can only be commented on with that accent. Any time an american does color commentary for racing it's cringy for me. You really get the sense of the race with him.
Enjoyed that one Jimmy, your enthusiasm really came through and I think you did a really good job keeping up the commentary while you were racing, nice one.
That was utterly spellbinding to watch great job with that race and indycar was perfect for long beach ;)
Brother you had me on the edge of my seat lol. Thanks for the drive. I really appreciate it.
I dont have a particular suggestions for a car / track combo, but please publish more videos :) its so much fun watching you. I have a Rift myself. watching you race inspires me to use the rift more often
ah and please reduce the amount of Gran Tourismo streaming and do more Sim Racing
VR looks so sick! I'm considering it
The best looking racing game I've ever seen. Very realistic.
Sick, as in badass. Indy is an underrated series. And the VR makes this sim super true to the in cockpit cams in the real series.
I love everything about your video! And your driving!
Just watching this again. Awesome stuff. Hilariously exciting. RIP project cars
Brilliant drive mate. For that you just got yourself another subscriber mate cheers!
I like how jimmy actually puts the force feedback up higher than most other people. Some put it so low that it seems like you are driving a corolla and not a race car... Plus, the osw also helps :)
Great review. Just the voice-over on its own was exciting.
*F U S T E R C L U C K*
Brilliant vid! Was on the edge of my seat the whole race! :)
Awesome stuff! Looked like, and sounded like, you were having soooo much fun! Moar moar moar!!
I was ever bit excited watching it! Great vid
That voice and that enthusiasm, great viewing Jimmy
Jimmy: "little bit of a fustercluck there". 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 2:04
Damn this looks very close to real life. It looks realistic.
I play it too but in the goggles it looks far away from this good
Only from close bye
Hell of a sense of humor. Keep it up
Absolutely exhilarating. So good. Loved the final pass. Gotta go VR
Awesome video Jimmy !! Love to see a race at Cleveland airport in a Indycar !
Hi Jimmy, nice video`s it`s really fun to drive with VR. See you in the next SROL race. Cheers !
Brilliant race that was fun watching. Had me sweating as well mate.
Great vid Jimmy. If random buttons are activating on your wheel, it's likely an electromagnetic interference (EMI) issue due to your servo motor. "driving my car in a spirited fashion through the lanes".....XD same here buddy, same here
I was entranced dude. That was
a great race.
Insane video! Actually looked so realistic👌
You got me really hyped for this game! Lol I thought the first one was GREAT, after you're done tweaking with settings FOREVER and getting them the way you want lol. Hopefully this one you won't have to fiddle with the settings to much to get the feel right. Looks amazing!
Its your strange left right left right steering that gets me lol
Epic fun. Cant wait to buy Project Cars 2 for my rift.
Loved every second of that video!
Wow, what an amazing video! So immersive!!
At first I thought you where putting a video of IRL just to show case how the game compares, Those graphics are crazy!
looks awesome got to get me a VR goggles seems to give a great sense of how the road is when you drive
Definitely miss all the formula content you used to do, glad to see this.
Awesome fuckin vid!!! The shaking and everything made me feel as if I was right there. I felt as if I was driving it myself and I'm laying in bed watching the video on my phone!!! Keep the shakes. Awesome job!!! Keep the video coming! You got a new suscriber here mate.
that last pass at the end was exciting.

Rallycross or Touring cars would be fantastic to see!
This video was hilarious! Some of the stuff you come out with lmao
What's wrong with those palm trees ? hahaah
a render issue with the background/environment in this build. That's why it looks so hazy.
Oh ok. Thx for info
Optic camouflage? /snake
What the chaps said. The palmtrees are actually 3D models made from the laserscan though. :)
It's only rendering one side of lens.
As someone that lives by long beach and spent a bunch of time there, I can attest to it's surreal accuracy
Nice driving Jimmy, this gets me so excited for PC2!
Btw, love the Running In The 90s remix during the credits.
wwwwoooooowww that was intense, especially the last lap, awesome stuff
Omg! This is great, nice racing dude
Don’t apologise. Just like many others watching this, makes it look realistic as!! VR brands should sponsor you, your vid persuades me to buy one!! Choice vids and great commentary.
Hey, nice to see you enjoy it more and more with every video. And you've only just started yet, where's it going to end? Wall maybe :)?
Awesome vid looked so much fun. Love to see more VR vids from you. 👍🏻
Love the fact that the AI crash and make mistakes. Looks spectacular.
awesome videos. hilariously professional commentary. oh, and any car on laguna seca in vr!
You really need to be a race commentator. I enjoyed that more than the actual racing. :D
Jimmy is back murdering the AI! Welcome back!
When you're talking about the sun being on you, thinking it's in the game, but it genuinely had came out! Hahaha
That last pass was exciting!
I have to get a V.R headset!!! Takes it to a whole new level.
I play this too on VR. It's a game changer!
You made the game look so fun
I hope they add the 2018 aero kit cars down the line, or if not pCARS2, then some other game gets them. They look fantastic and from early reports should drive fantastically too.
Man I’m still waiting😢
The most professional little video I have ever seen, you should have a job on TV commentating
Traffic jam in Long Beach who would of expected that....lmao. Gj
Jimmy! I loved This video! i was sweating right along with you!!
Absolutely crazy great in-cocpit animation. Amazing game. One qiestion, does it support steering by windiws tablet gyroscope?
Lol steering inputs like Lance Stroll 😉
AshRichardson F1 hahaha I know he's just playing with the wheel so much. he should try being smoother like Lewis H. He's probably scrubbing so much speed, and making the car unsettled by doing it.

Milo Yossarian You’re telling me a racing driver has been beat before? I thought Lewis won every race he was in... Just because he has been beat before doesn’t mean he is not a great driver lmao
Milo Yossarian around 66% of all of Hamiltons career races he finished on the podium. Over half of his career podiums were on first place.
@@cmbunit01 Yeah you r right, nevertheless Jimmy's steering input is quite aggresive overall, even the driving instructor told him so.
Very enjoyable video as always! Shaking is normal on city streets of concrete
you need to try out some gokarts if they have those in pcars 2. they were a blast in VR on pcars 1. only thing i really enjoyed about the game actually. if u think that open cockpit is amazing just imagine being able to look down and see any of the 4 wheels u choose and drive that wheel straight into that apex. another great video jimmer and i was cheering for u as u took the outside on the last corner. well done
look up KartKraft game!
Der erste Teil war meine VR Offenbarung. Man freu ich mich darauf.
Love this view, shaky and all!
Looks like jimmy got his vr legs in no time at all
I just assumed it was bumpy becasue the track is bumpy in real life.
Amazing race even though you couldn't get the W it was a great race to watch especially with VR
Looks amazing, nice vid :)
moooooore cars, also you and that guy you talked to you about mistakes sound similar
Love his commentary!
that looked brill mate ,got my preorder in :}
The last hairpin, that shit was intense!
is there a way to set up the radio message in terms of "chatiness"? and those stupid lap time deltas? because both actualkly kills the immersion by constantly reminding you that you are in a video game (with complete s*** radio messages that NEVER actually do anything helpful, mnaybe despite for fuel or crash ahead warnings). maybe its just me though...
You can turn the engineer off completely, if he bothers you. I would need to check, but I'm fairly certain you can remove the split times as well
Wilhelm Sommer there are a few settings for that i think.
Most people play with an addon called Pit Crew Chief. Player made. I just turn the voices off completely.
