This guy doesn’t comment over his videos....he’s a freakin’ commentator. His ability to drive and commentate the entire race is incredible and it’s very enthusiastic and makes it intense.

The AI is taking a terrible line through the dipper. Best TH-cam racer IMO. It's like watching a race and having an announcer call it the whole way. Can't way to see you race Mt. Panorama in iRacing!
Yet they accelerate faster out of the corner. how is this happening? (i genuinely want to know, not being sarcastic)
From what i can see the AI manages to rotate the car more in both consecutive corners, with a little aggressive weight shifting and using the grip boost from the little fall-off in the first curve.

What setup do you run on your v8? Looks way more stable and balanced than mine (default really and controller rn) thanks in advanced

Vr looks good but first time on the this track I wrecked hard lol
I prefer playing it with the Xbox One controller well configured from the sofa with no glasses... the most confortable, spacious and cheapest way.

Kartal Toth with the aero and possible suspension damage he would definitely be disadvantaged
these things are very tough ( they aren't made from carbon fiber like a GT3 ) and aero damage would've been minimal (if there would've been any)
Dark Nite as mentioned, these things can take a beating. They actually make contact at the apex to try and slightly push the front car off the racing line on the exit. Much like Australians; they'll cop a flogging and still charge ahead
The corner you keep forgetting, (right after mountain straight) is Griffin's Bend.

Man I remember this track from the good ol Toca Race Driver
out of all the progress pcars has made in pcars 2, the V8SC are the biggest disappointment. its just a copy past from pcars 1. the models are far outdated now, and its still a 1 make grid? come one. the current gen cars are like 5 years old now already, and pcars has a nissan and GM license... SO WHATS THE HOLD UP. (id really love to see the volvo and merc, but we know that will never happen)

holden v ford hasnt existed in (supercars) for a good 5 years when they introduced the COTF chassis,.

I do the same because left hand drive cars seem to dominate most of the big racing games.
That's because outside of UK, its former territories (minus US & Canada) and Japan we all drive on the right side of the road.
well most people are RIGHT handers mostly, changing gears with right hand is more intuitive, natural for most of people i guess.

I'm trying to practice this in the falcon V8, for that ford challenge thing in career mode.
Just as you said "it's a little bit grippy sometimes.... as I said that I almost lost it", it took me right back to my laps.
This car is incredible. You never quite know what it's going to do. I'm no master sim racer, I use a low-mid-range wheel (DFGT), and am useless at trying to setup the cars for individual circuits and so on. But I do have everything set to "real", and try my best.
I found with this car on this circuit though, that one minute I feel I can throw the car around like crazy and it will just grip all the way for me. Then a split second later it will just decide it wants to slide or spin at the slightest input from me.
Love it. And found now that bathurst is like laguna seca for me; I love and hate it equally.
For this it's that long straight with the fast corner where you need to brake down to third for the next left hander. And in laguna seca of course it's the bloody corkscrew.
VR really makes you feel like your there. Jumping in this car for example, it feels like you have so much room in the car, and the sound of the gearbox slamming through the gears... It's a real treat to drive this in VR
nicely done Jimmy! one suggestion, could you reverse your camera? it is weird seeing your hands moving opposite to game steering wheel 😆😆

That’s not something I’ve ever even thought of. My brain just understood that it’s flipped but knew which way he was turning relative to the game.

it's something you only start to notice after somebody points it out to you and it will make you insane after a while :P
heck ya my first time doing this track ever was in PC2 and wow.. I hated it at first, no I love it. So much fun and yes in VR those walls are damn scary. I found out something recently that I can crank up nearly all the settings to high using the Vive after going to the forums and tinkering around a bit. Odd, turning down the graphics and the game ran worse... /shrug hopefully stuff they can patch in later. Anyways do more VR videos we like em and good luck in iracing on that track i'll be watching!
Well done to you!! I really struggle with PC2. More than PC1. It constantly feels so disconnected and it has some cars with serious issues with handling, and in general some dynamics feel weird at best. I really struggle with the AI, they are really strong in comparison to other sims even at low levels. So you do really well. I'd love to know more about your setup. ☺
Jimmy can you do a video showing how you set up your cars ...it would be fest to see what you do and why !!

I wish this game had custom tournaments. I want to set up a 60s F1 around the historic tracks or a NASCAR thing on the ovals and Watkins Glen etc fuck it even a FormulaX rallycross series.
I've heard some people have been suffering with head aches because of the use of the VR head set has any of you guys suffered with this. Can you let me know please cause I would like one for Racing and Horror games but, I don't want to have head aches every day. Thanx

Because the Supercars are so heavy, when you go over rises, or the front is about to get light, you blip the brake just before turn in, and it'll give the front the point you want.
The visuals we are seeing on the video --- are they a carbon copy of what you are seeing in the headset - I use Index and there tracks can seem hazy in the VR. Wondering if it is me or that's how it is
How do racing games still fuck up the split control line at Bathurst? There's a start line and a separate control/finish line, they aren't all the one line ffs.
wish there was a way he could smooth out the jitter in these VR videos. SO hard to watch.. Of course, if I had the headset on it wouldn't be a problem

Hey bro, at mount pan, on 6 tree first turn, the turn at the bottom of her bottom through all the s curves and the final turn, ha Dr ghee bae slowed down to what I call, your maximum minimum showed to get through the corner, you'll get through the Corner faster, be acme to get back on the throttle harder, and obviously will help you carry a lot more speed down those long straights. Great video though. That is one of those tracks that, if you slow down, you'll actually go faster. Sounds crazy I know. But trust me. It works for me.

I love your vids jimmer but I just can't watch these VR ones, way too much jitter... like somebody with severe parkinson's filmed it with an old ass pre-stabilizer camcorder.
Strangely, I've watched VR racing vids before and didn't have this issue, at least not as bad... I'm almost positive that I've seen some of yours even, maybe it's something about PCars2.
Very impressive that you commentate while racing. Even more impressive that you do so without a lot of, 'uh' or 'um' while doing it. I think you could be quite successful as an announcer for racing, you've got the voice and the dialogue. I'm sure with some prep work beforehand, you'd remember all of the corner names.

Guys don't forget the graphics might look wonky because it's been recorded through the computers (probably) then put on line and we're watching it through our screens so we're going to lose some resolution at some point. You can only really appreciate the graphics if you're playing it your self.

Bathurst is like a roller coaster without seatbelts. You need to hang on to the seat, and enjoy the terrifying screamers.
3:11 usually The Kink is taken flat out but once you’re pointing straight you slam the brakes
I noticed the AI are annoyingly too good on the downhill section when you're doing everything you can not to spin or hit a wall or lock up.

Is his setup on the internet anywhere? What pc specs are needed to run this? What steering wheel is he using etc?
Your gonna need about £1200 for a good PC at least then about £2500 for the Fanatech steering wheel and all the other gear then about £500 for a VR headset but tbh ive bought a logitech G29 steering wheel which is about £200 all in all your looking at between about £3000 to £5000 for this kind of setup but you can do it a hell of a lot cheaper on console but without the VR
