Best video I have seen on TH-cam in some time. This family was insanely talented.
And the father actually acted insane. He was a tyrant who spent all of their money and ticked off everyone in the entertainment business.
@@grouchosays Bud was the reason that Ed Sullivan canceled the contract he had with them.
they were supposed to be the partridge family.......
Groovy stuff, indeed. ✌️
More Cowsills!
Thank you so much for posting! AMAZING to see some real good live concert footage of the Cowsills! ❤
Amazing performance, and that Farfisa!
Oh my gosh, this is one of the most amazing videos I have seen in a long time! You can hear each and everyone of their voices and I could pick them all out (I am a Cowsill fan from way back)! You can hear all the instruments including the Tamborine as clear as a bell and yes, I just used one of the lyrics to the song! Amazing video and Barry, I miss you so much!
No ear monitors back then, and probably very limited stage mix (56 years ago!). How the hell could the individual backing voices even hear themselves? Gorgeous sounds...John on drums, just a boy of...12 or so, but played like a 20 year veteran. Bravo, Cowsills!
Pro sound! The bass and drums don't sound like kids at all. They rock solid.
Excellent review of this great group!!!
One of the best videos from the early years. Every member of this group has such musical talent, and when you put them together it’s magical. Those harmonies. Those instruments. And whoever did the audio did an amazing job!
❤❤❤❤ talento sempre fica na memória gratidão gratidão gratidão.
Extremely tight. Very underrated for their live performance. Shows great talent here. 6 harmonies going on. Fantastic. Lucky to have this superb quality of audio and video.
ya your right !! , i was just checking to see if there was 6 harmonies, and by gosh there are , wow !
I loved the Cowsills. They are being inducted into the California Rock N Roll Hall of Fame museum this month.
You dont pull this level of live performance vocal accuracy off without many many hours of practice. And they are dam good musicians to boot.
I hope the family watches this!!
John Cowsill (on drums) is 12 years old in this clip. 12 years old.
I honestly didn't know what to expect when I clicked on this but that was absolutely brilliant! Those harmonies were something else entirely. It's just a shame they don't get the kudos they deserve for things like this.
THANK YOU so very much for Sharing. This is the kind of Videos we are missing from that Era.
This is completely live, isn’t it? They were, and are, master harmony singers….so impressive. Sunshine Pop at its finest!
Yes, completely live!
Incredible live sound.
This is so cool. First time I've heard them live in the 60s. No lip-synching here! They were all extremely talented at a young age.
Bill, Bob, Barry, and John used to play in clubs when they were young. They were all to young to actually be in the clubs. lol
Bernie thanks much here for your comment. Since these live performances of the "cowsills", are so rare to find.. I think few people realize just how talented these children were.. Its like a well guarded secret,, and a lovely Gem if you happen to discover them !
I hadn't heard them live before either and I am blown away by their ability to deliver a great sound on stage. Good songwriting as well.
This live version was better than I thought it would be. That organ solo in the middle sounds better than the horns & strings on the studio version.
I’m blown away by how clean both the audio and video are; an absolute treasure!
Kinda like it was filmed last wk :) very clear
Oh MAN, they were so good!! Those vocals just kill!! And this is performed live, folks. Unbelievable.
That's a great live sound. The two little guys on bass and drums are a solid rhythm section. Everybody is solid. Very impressive. A real band as opposed to actors in a television fantasy band using studio musicians.
Fantastic live performance!
Great band. Great vocals. Very musical.
Love the Cowsills!
What a fantastic video of such a talented band ! Great audio mix !
Just that ending by itself was WAY ahead of its time, let alone the rest of the song. This family is talent, period.
The lovely Susan cowsill my first crush they were a band that was just spot on the sweetness a lovely band
...Even mom is smiling and having a good time!!
They were at the base where richard was stationed. She called him up to introduce Indian Lake.
Wish I was born in that area.. Music was cooler, no perversion and cussing and no autotune.. People had talent back then...
I was and you are right. It was a better time.
I was born in '65 and I have fond memories of having two older sisters who played their music and even played guitar to them and many others. That's how I got to love them and all the others. And the 70's expanded my musical tastes with all who came out 🙂!
Thank you so much for posting! Can’t tell you how much I love seeing my favourite band ! Please find some more for us !
Susan Cowsill is still one of my favorite vocalists.
I agree, she sounds pretty good eh for 9 years old !
Sings her heart out.
@@grouchosays ya she is really is putting in a good effort for one her age here :)
i think in interviews she has said this is her favorite early cowsills song..
I love to finally get to hear & see these great clips of The Cowsills ~ thanks so much, RITY66!
I love The Cowsills !
When we’re overseas in 1968 in countries they so great live and singing in different languages even tell today 56 years later and on tour this summer starting in June see them live on TH-cam
This is GOLD!
they ruled the world with their sound!!!!
Hmmm, got Momma Cowsill with them there, cool!
great tune!
Amazing!
The templet for the Partridge Family....but for real!
Incredible
I love the Farfisa organ! Good and cheesy.
the sound that launched the summer of love sound..... THE DOORS..... STRAWBERRY ALARM CLOCK..... ELECTRIC PRUNES....etc 👍
I love the back line of 3 brand new 1968 Fender Dual Showman amps and that classic Farfisa organ up on the stage. Bands looked so cool back then. And these guys got a great balanced sound out of their instruments. Impressive.
Dang, that is a hell of a good live performance. I dare say it was pretty close to Carpenters quality. And what an appreciative audience those servicemen were!
Fort Gordon. Vietnam. The Cowsills. Never saw this video before. What a talented group they were.
Sunny day pop perfection😁
amazing :)
Great, The Cowsills and The Osmonds are my favorite family bands😊
Gee did rhey say Ft Gordon , looks like what i remember seeing back in the 60s when my brother took basic there.
Awesome!!
The Partridge Family!
Dang!! They were really good!!!
The Original Partridge Family
Susan is so pretty and the band is great!
Groovy man.
Wow! ❤
So sad they got screwed over by the parents and management 😢
Bob, Paul, Susan, and John Cowsill have persevered and have done very well for themselves. They continue to play live to a steady fan base to this day.
What you get for having your mom in your band.
@@markandresen1 It wasn't their mother. She was a wonderful...albeit "temperamental"...person. It was their physically & mentally abusive, lecherous, drunkard father. He "willfully" mishandled the great wealth the band accumulated.
Regards,
Ben
I didn't hear ONE Bad vocal part at all!!!👍
Dose anyone know what U.S.Army base was recorded at ?
The blueprint for The Partridge Family
i like the partridge family
Did they write their own music?
rca records ripped the cowsills off for millons of dollars, and was the cause of their demise. terrible story.
Cant' keep them down, they Reemerged!! The Cowsills have settled that matter for an undisclosed amount. Bob Cowsill said they're happy with the settlement. Also they still tour and do cruise performances to a waiting audience. They are receiving yet another award, this time in California. Their story is looking pretty good!
It was MGM, not RCA. 🙂
@@judyraeweissman Thatz Right all my Cowsills rekerds are on MGM.
Oh well anybody can get their acronyms mixed up, lol.
Their pop Bud was no angel either.
@@fueledbylove Actually it was their ASSHOLE of a father. He "willfully" mishandled the wealth the band accumulated.
Best regards,
Ben
This is the kind of song they should perform in concert and not trash like “Puff the Magic Dragon.”! No cover versions!
USAMPS MP SCHOOL 1975
Kieth Richards should have brought his mom into the Stones.
Keef doesn't have a mother. He's been here since the beginning. Possibly, the great creator. Cheers.
Bubblegum pop .
Now I know who the Partridge family ripped off.
@user-ve8ds9bg3c
The Cowsill were around long before Partridge Family. They were who the Partridge Family were based on. In fact, they asked the Cowsills to do the show but because the producers didn’t want to use their mother, the group turned it down. Learn your Cowsills/Partridge history before spouting incorrect info.
They were the inspiration for the Patridge family---which they are better than.
