  • Betta Fish Heater with thermostat. These are awesome little heaters for your fish tank. The digital thermostat makes it super easy to see what the water temperature is from a quick glance. My betta fish tanks are doing amazing with these heaters.

These heaters are super cool because you can just glance in your fish aquarium and see the water temperature. Say goodbye to thermometers in your fish tank because you don’t need them anymore.
    Some more fish banter:
What is one fish you would NEVER own again?? Mine would definitely be Molly fish.
Yeah mine gets fed bloodworm but it’s so hard to see if he’s got any before all the other gobble them up as he often hides at the back. He’s still alive so guess somethings going in.
i have 8 of them.. i love how they hunt around after snails with thise cute huge eyes like a chameleon… i also have a small red ramshorn snail tank so i just throw in some.. and the ones that survive before they eat them lay new eggs so after a while it alot of small snails everywhere and they have a blast hunting them all day.
Rosy Barbs, they ate anything they could and never stopped moving. Danios too they stressed out my other fish because they never stopped.
well, years ago when I was very new to fish keeping, I was miss sold one ( this was back before the internet wasn’t so easily accessible) I was told it would be a good community fish for a small tank. It was of course a completely inappropriate size for the tank, it killed pretty much every other fish in there. Of course I know none of this was the fault of the fish, but it’s not a good memory.
I like plecos but I cannot keep them. They usually have great personality but they also have great size and huge amounts of waste. I don’t have the room or the income to take care of a fish that can easily grow to 24 inches.
I don’t hate mine yet but they are such bullies! I have 2 angels and had 2 dwarf blue gourami. One of the gouramis died and the angels haven’t left the survivor alone! And why do I yell at them to stop it? I have no idea.
No glow fish for me. I have never had them but they just don’t appeal to me. I like my fish the way that Mother Nature made them, not the way that Joe the Genetic Engineer made them.
Silver dollars!!! We have 2 crazy males that speed all over the tank knocking into our discus and the glass. 4x3ft 500+ litres still doesn’t seem enough lol!! Everyone in the tank has strangely adjusted.
your wood likely to grow some fungus to begin with, while unsightly don't be worried by this it will just help a bit with establishing the tank and when the tank is ready any snails and/or sucker type fish/ shrimp you put in will feast on it and it will be gone in no time at all. Is that water or white polystyrene we can see under the tank? you could ad some moss or plants at a later stage to your wood if you felt like it during a water change and at some point your likely to need to trim back some of your plants and replant the off cuts in your tank (buy some counter weight).
My black Molly, Gmork, had this white blotchy spot on the side of her body. Since this photo was taken a couple of weeks ago it seems to have gone away from her side and is now on the top of her head. She has also had her top fin clamped. I researched what it could be. It's not flakey like ick and it doesn't quite look like velvet either. Could I just be identifying it wrong?
Also, my lyre tail molly just had a baby a few days ago. Could the treatment hurt the fry?
    My levels are as follows
    Oh 8.0 Ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate 10
Does anyone own a eyespot/figure eight puffer fish? I'm looking into what types of fish I may want to get for my new 55 gallon hexagon and I've always thought those guys are adorable. I've done a little bit of reading on them and I see that they do prefer brackish water but you can keep them in fresh water. I'm just wondering if anybody has experience with them? I also understand that they are aggressive.
This is probably a big NO... but worth asking, is there a way to set up an aquarium that doesn't require water changes, it requires very few water changes? Like a natural ecosystem?

Miss our bumble bee beta. He managed to jump out of the small hole in the lid for the air line and cords. Still have 12 more to enjoy.

I got 4 of those heaters, they haven't failed on me, unsure how accurate they are, but I like them. they also shut off if you pull them out of the water so they don't overheat and break

I've been using one of these for about 8 months now and so far I really like it. I put a thermometer in to check the accuracy and it seemed to be spot on it has been great for my 5 gal. Yellow Shrimp/ pygmy cory tank.

Amazing I need 20 of those digital heaters! Have they been tested for safety? Durability? I remember The King of DIY lost some expensive fish to experimental heaters a few years back.

I had one. I put it in like 2.5gallons, and unless I got it set to like 90F it wouldn't measure past 72F. One day it just stopped working

Same issue. I had a 50 watt in a 5 gallon tank. It worked great for 10 months, then it also sent straight to 90F if it was set above 72F. I am now trying a YukiHalu model. Basically it has the same look and controls ( probably made by the same factory) hopefully I will get more than 10 months on this one

Mine worked less than three months and electrocuted my whole tank. I had to take a video and I posted it on TH-cam and on TikTok proving and measuring the electric current jn the water.
