Honestly we really need to break the stigma that this stuff is not enjoyable. There are always tough moments but these hobbies are deeply, deeply enjoyable and rewarding. It’s not all struggle! I loved this edit. Honestly you probably enjoy these sports more than most world champions or olympians do…which is something for everyone to think about.
I rarely comment but having all the gear and putting an insane amount of time in training just to not break sub 20 had me dyingggg, one of the most accurate video I've seen in a while 💀
@daaaanjj thank you for this wonderful video! This describes just perfectly how I've felt since starting running. So good to see there's another person, with a completely different life, somewhere else in the world who feels just the same way about endurance sports. It changed my life for the better as well. You have a beautiful way of expressing this message with your video! Also your video made me smile because I also finished NYC as my first marathon, with a very similar time, just 1 minute slower. Life sometimes has funny coincidences in store 😂❤
I started training for triathlon just over a year ago. My life has improved so dramatically since taking the plunge and I completely agree, the fun is in the journey. Every day you learn something new and get a little bit better. I don't plan on anything other than continuously improving no matter how small the improvements are. Although, I am trying to broaden my conversational skills because I too don't know anything else to talk about these days. Love the content!
Love the style of the video. I deeply resonate with being obsessed with endurance sports while being unremarkable. Sub five hours for your first marathon is above average. I saw some SOAR pieces in here (ungodly expensive running gear). What's your day job bro?
I was always into motobikes, motocross, superbike on track and road, i never thought i ll be interested in cycling but since the day i started with my dad i m completely obsesed with it...Such a great sport,it's you again yourself, getting better month after month...
two wheels, handlebars, outside, sound of nature undisturbed, your lung as the carburetor, and your heart as your engine. Since I had kids, i cant go on long tour rides with my motorcycle. Cycling is the way to go now.
Yet again such a masterpiece of a movie! I also decided to embark on the journey of endurance sport and am currently in the process of training for my first Ironman 70.3 which will be in August (and also documenting the journey on my channel.) Cheers to the process and journey. Let's get it! Keep up the good work man!
Yeah, yeah! I get the idea, absolutely. I started running and got completely into it, bought stuff and optimized. But then my body said: "wtf? Nope. You stop here." So now I am recovering and hoping to start running again. So it's a different journey for everyone.
In 2025 I unsubbed from everyone except for 5 people or so, and I decided I would only watch people who I genuinely would befriend in real life. I guess you just joined that group. Amazing vibe and attitude!!! Also I'm stealing the 'professional amateur' bit! And hell nah, "why?" you do it is NOT the question. The question should be "why not?"
Dont forget the time you dedicate to researching about the perfect gear and spending unhealthy amounts of money on bike parts, clothing, running shoes and whatsoever 😂
"All while performing at a highly, highly, unremarkable level." 😂😂😂😂
love the “professional amateur” phrase
sums a lot of us pretty accurately

I'm surprised he can't break 20 in the 5k.
Refreshing to hear someone say they like the work without having to be Olympic level good. 3 min mark was perfect 👌
thanks mate
Solid 3 minute watch.

Love it. I| recently moved out of the "bike on my living room wall phase" to the "bike permanently set up for Zwift in my spare room" phase 😂
Thats the most accurate video i've seen in a long time!! Kinda resumes my last 20 years of racing mountain bikes.
