I just love you. Your story brought tears to my eyes. When you said you repent for teaching your children about the beast system and apologized to them and now live your life as an example of repentance. How real is that. Thank you for this video. How powerful and touching to my soul.

Amen Doug, Amen! I hit about 50 and I got home from a 2 month business trip to find a $130 water bill. I thought WTH!! How can I have a bill? I didn't use any water!? Found out I was getting charged a minimum fee whether I used any or not. So I looked at my life and started slowly getting rid of all this crap I was paying people for that I wasn't seeing any or very little benefit. Meanwhile my health was deteriorating from living in the rat race. Bought some property in the mountains with a well and septic, oh and propane too. Still on the electrical grid but other than my mortgage the only things I pay for now is electricity, cell phone and internet. I am now paying over $1000 less each month in bills and am slowly working on getting rid of all the rest. I have decided to start starving the beast, come out of Babylon, come out of her my people! I am becoming John Galt. Love your videos as I am learning a great deal of information from you, thank you!

      Hello Doug and Stacy,
I would love to live off grid. I need to live as cheaply and easy as possible. I know off grid it's easy. I wouldn"t mind that type of hard work. I've got a small garden put out this year. trying to grow somethings to help save a dollar here and there. I just want to live for myself as you say. No water no trash bills no electricity bills I just can't get out from under a rock at this timebut for now I"ll live through you guys and try to be happy.

Doug, you and Stacy are an inspiration for me! My husband is one of those complainers. I’m more like let’s do it! I hope someday the blinders will come off his eyes. He’s wanting a condo by the ocean, and I’m wanting what you guys have. 😟 He doesn’t listen to me. Everything you have said is so on point, and I have explained this to him. He does not care. 😢 Bless you both!

Would LOVE to live off grid, but realistically I'm in my 70's and single sooo that's not in the cards anymore. At time though I had a little place that I LOVED and planned on retiring there, but that wasn't in the cards either. However, I live simply, organized and streamlined within the system. I'm one of the few who lives off their pension without difficulty because of my conscious approach to lifestyle. Thanks so much for this channel - am living vicariously through Doug & Stacy.

Thank you for your inspiration! My husband and I decided a few months ago that we want to buy a piece of land and start living more sustainably. This would include chickens, bees and growing our own produce to start. Later, we want to introduce alpacas and maybe some goats. We have zero experience and will need to keep working as we make this transition w/ the hope to "retire" early. We have 2 boys; 13 and 10. We feel this is the best time to do this. I plan to watch MANY of your videos!

Stumbled across this older video after watching your newer stuff for the last few months and it's awesome to see the progress your channel has made, not to mention your homestead. As a family that just took the plunge last month and sold our house/belongings, bought a yurt, and started a youtube channel. I can say that it's harder than it looks. Seeing you do it and do it WELL is so motivating. The quality of your video substance has been incomparable since day one. Thank you for the words of wisdom and encouragement friends. Peace

Thanks so much for all the uplifting words. What you're talking about today is exactly how I've decided to move forward in "living off grid" where I am. We have a 40 acre farm in Georgia and have been here 26 years living the rat race. We have all this beauty around us every day and have only used our farm as a daily refuge. Now we are retired and we've begun to see the possibilities here. Our first effort to un-plug is to plant a small vegetable garden (done), start lacto fermenting some food (doing daily), and stop using as many electrical items as we can. We are working daily on these 3 things for now. It feels so good just to do SOMETHING toward sustainable living. Thanks so much to you and Stacy for your examples. They've been inspiring. All the best to you both!

I still love the name Growing In Faith Farm!!! It's true. I believe we are all always "growing in faith." I'm a newly saved Christian. I was saved/baptized as a child but I didn't "really" understand what that meant till I was much older. I came back to Christ (though I never left completely but I wasn't truly committed either honestly) a couple of years ago. Though I still have A LOT to learn and am not nearly as well versed in the Bible as some...I AM growing in faith. I'm so thankful for all my blessings and pray God will continue to guide me daily. Thanks so much for sharing. God Bless you both always!

Absolutely true. We are retired, but live "in town" where we own a business. But it's very "old school" :) and we're working on living simple, healthy, inexpensive, and Godly lives. And working on being off-grid "ready"; our needs aren't much so our utilities aren't expensive, but the more simply we live the less we have to pay for, and want to be where we would have no problem without them. Thanks for the help in doing all this!

Wow...seeing this in 2022, you really foresaw the future and got out of the system at the right time...and now you're set and God has blessed you through all the hard work you did to create your beautiful homestead.. You are very, very wise!!! True, when people retire, they do die a year or two after they retire. They live to work, but you work to live...and the work you do is very rewarding.

This so spoke to my heart, we live in the suburds in South Australia connected to the grid and I dream about living off grid the wanting to be free of paying large power bills etc we often think that we need to move to live a more simple life. But watching this has shown me live today what changes can I make today where I am living bringing closer to living the dream.

I moved from the rat race in Ontario Canada. i was sad and depressed. i got sick of it all sold my home bought a small cottage property in New Brunswick Canada for mere nothing. Now i am for the most part free... I have no mortgage no rent no bills and i do what i want when i want. I cant express enough how real and possible this life is when you shed the world of consumption. i am 34 years old and i have much of life to enjoy. i am glad i listened to wisdom and experience of people like you. people who saved me from the drudgery of consumerism and poor mental ideology. god bless you and thanks for such a great inspiration.

I hear what your saying about working all your life and come retirement you are either medically disabled, dead or caring for an ill loved one. As a former medic i cant tell you how many times I have seen this. People find and buy there dream home in a gorgeous country setting only to pass away or become ill and now they have to move to the city instead of enjoying there retirement. We really have it backwards today. There are no golden years for most. Live your life now and to the fullest!!! The other thing is you never know how long you have so make every day count. I still have a house and one foot in the system but I'm working toward getting out of it altogether. The journey that I started a couple years ago has changed my thinking drastically. More importantly, it is changing my actions. I look forward to seeing more from you in upcoming videos.

Just wanted to comment about our experience with many people... There are a lot of people that believe it is best for you to live like you guys do (and us soon as well), because we as humans are just not meant/created to be living cooped up in a city, or even a small town. There are also many people that believe that "when hard times come" they need to "flee" from the cities... But, it is just not always done with the "snap of your fingers". I am making decent money, and we have owned our property for maybe ten years...but we are still not living on it yet. Just mentioning this because if you believe... in any way... that you belong closer to the nature and even off-grid (like we feel we do)...go for it! Or, at least start preparing for it...

I live in a small home on a small lot in an inner ring suburb and i love it. i lived in the tony 'burbs and i lived off grid in bfe. so i have been around the block so to speak in where i lived. i like living close to work, close to the food store, close to good quality medical care. i am getting older and i do not want to spend the few years i have left driving in a car to get someplace. what amuses me is that a lot of off grid prepper people still want the finer things in life. you need a house, a well, a few candles, and a warm house in the wintertime and you are good to go. the heck with all the of the stuff and don't fret so much over the "necessities" if you want a real off grid life experience.

I really liked this rant, slowly well in the very early 2000s we paid off our home and vehicle and have been debt free, praise God for that! and we had many horses, goats, chickens, ducks, but I broke my back 3x over rt knee replacement and left ankle broke, then son fell out of climbing tree stand and almost died, hubby had a knee replacement too, and just recently amputated his right part of his pinky finger a week ago! But today and all the stuff that I have started saving and trading like seeds clothing some animals etc. Even though we have no income except a small disability for me...I know God supplies all my needs according to his riches in glory...so I appreciate this video and almost off grid but if something happened we would adapt , and overcome! ty again 💕 😇 ☮ Kellie p-b 💕

I've been reading about Off gridding for some time now and its really great to see just how diverse this community can be whether its from not being on the electrical grid in the city or cutting the cords all together in sticks. Sustainable is worth it :) Thanks for the extra inspiration.

Thank You so much for this video. Great encouragement piece, you have no idea. This concept has been brewing/welling up with inside me over the past few years. I'm so close to ready. We home school our 5 children, have 23 chickens, two turkeys, 4 raised garden beds, and a strawberry patch on 1 acre 20 minutes north of Kansas City. We are wanting to move much further away on more land with less "stuff" and untied to the "system". I WANT AWAY FROM THE JOB I HATE AND THE DREADED CUBICLE.

I have been watching your videos for some time now. I have enjoyed them and marveled at what you have done in the time you have been 'on the homestead' . I look forward to each new video about your 'Mom's House'. I have been retired for 5 years now and I don't think I will be getting myself 'planted' right away....LOL.... but ya never know

Amen ! And to add to your speaking, their are people who have never left the city or the state they were born in. I have always respected others they challenge themselves like you and your family have. I never have or ever will wasted my life envying others lives. I am not a city troll. I was born in the country and can live off the grid and sustain myself long term. I don't have any land purchased but that alone is not going to hinder my efforts to live long term in the wilderness while moving around. You spoke and feel no different than I. I lived for 2 years at 15 on my own wilderness shopping and did fine. Never stop wearing your colors of belief, I don't and know first hand about sacrafices and always remember friend ** I See The World As The World Sees Itself **

I saw a video theres a young man in Quebec who lives this way hes very happy he wrote a few books and he likes living the way they did in the 19 century he even wears the same clothes but he laughs all the time and he is so happy. This is the way God wants humans to live its natural and healthy. The dam politicians are ripping everybody off.Thanx so much for this video.

we have been able to purchase 10 acres of beautiful mountain land for back taxes. Sometimes you can reach your goal if you get really creative. We don't have a lot of money, but we are researching, and we aren't afraid of hard work. We know that Abba' is leading us. We depend on Him. I get so much encouragement from your videos. Thank-you for the effort to put them out. Blessings to you.

What’s the point of paying off debt if ur going off grid ?? 🤔 who is going to send u bills ?

    • @eer4465
      @eer4465 2 ปีที่แล้ว

I think what he may mean is you need to pay off your debt to have nothing hanging over your head from on-grid. Thhhere needs to be cash available for that property tax, etc., when off grid. And maybe animals, feed, a water system, the vet, etc. If the old bills aren't dealt with, before going off grid, there will be no way to get started. If the old life's bills are still hanging around, the new life cannot get started. Can't make everything from scratch, until you've actually been there to learn how, and what will work best for you and your particular land, shelter, water, food, weather, animals, transportation, and then improvements, as needed, I would assume. Can't do that with old bills. Got to start fresh, and with money in your pocket, nowadays. Just reality. ❤🙏🏻

I would love to live off grid and to be a part of the earth and nature. I have not found a partner to do it with. I like thunderstorms and the wind and breeze and watching the snow fall from in a candle lit cabin!
