I've only just found this song. Absolutely amazing. It strikes me every time, when Gold pauses and begs "no more" the Union immediately rip his head from his shoulders as if to say "yes, more; you're at our mercy and we are not finished yet." After that, Gold's song just becomes more bleak and erratic, he becomes visibly more distraught, and the Unown literally seem to speak through him, even going so far as to inhabit his body. He is in all ways possessed. Gold was even trying to warn us away at the beginning, which makes his fate even more tragic, to know he still has some remnants of compassion for others.

I love how Gold here in the beginning tries to warn the player and persuade them to leave before they end up having the same fate and then in the "NO MORE" section he gets upset and confused on why he has to pass on because he managed to build his legacy before falling flat.
