I used to work at a international dealership. I had done at least 6 branch tube jobs on the VT-365 version under warranty. Warranty procedure for Navistar was basically the same. Most of the tube failures were from stc fittings blowing apart and cracking the tube at the block. It was a bit more of a bitch on the VT version.Where as ford has a rear engine cover. The VT version has a flywheel housing which also serves as the rear engine cover and also has 2 rear motor mounts incorporated into it.So before pulling it you have to chain on the top of the engine to support it or you will have a big problem lol..

I was so interested in seeing the branch tube removal!

So that's how the tool is removed.
You should've just pulled the heads and installed studs and gaskets. To do a branch tube job on a headbolted 6-liter???
I think you enjoy self inflicted pain.

Wait for a good used one at less than half the price and check pawn shops for what you want. Just my 2 cents but sometimes new can save the wait.

What tool did you use ? An what symptoms were you experiencing because man do I have a truck that is messing with me bad an I’ve done lots of work on it for real. I’ve replaced the Hpop, J-Tube,Standpipes , oil rail ball tubes an seals, feed lines to the oil rails from the stand pipe torqued everything down. New ICP an New IPR an still have the same damn issue where it drives fine an then when I go to WOT it loses power an produces a Hpop leak where it shows the ipr going to 85% and it will start shuttering an continues to lose power staggering. If I let of the pedal she’ll die then crank long before turning on. So I’m certain I’m experiencing a hot start issue. This is my first experience I’ve ever had with this . The HPOP is new an everything an I’m still having this issue. But I haven’t seen anyone with this issue. I’ve heard the oil rails can crack it the the branch tube. I’m thinking of turning her on an seeing with the valve covers off if she is leaking at wot from the oil rails . I got all new seals for the injectors bottom to top an the seals weren’t bad but at 290k replaced them with qaulity seals from alliance.

+bluebird5100 nothing. Snap on or matco boxes are well over rated. Not worth the money.

OTC makes it go on their site. When I worked at a Navistar dealership all of the service tools from International were made by OTC hope that helps
