    I have come here via Johannes' recommendation, through Martijn Doolard, and Kirsten Dirksen ... it is such a quiet joy to find people like yourselves all over the world, connecting land, art, craft, contemplation ...I have passed on the link to my elderly friend who is here in Australia, slowly losing the present to Altzheimers, and speaking often of her birth country of Estonia. I hope your videos bring her as much pleasure as they are bringing to me. Thank you.

    Your grandparents would have been very proud of you! You wäre very wise early in life and have worked, learnt and taken many well formed ideas and knowledge with you over the years. Your artistic and appreciation of beauty shows through in all of your skills.
    You both love wood and all it has offer. Wood in all aspects is life. I love how you have named your land. It is so apt. Land of slow living - it fits, like an old glove. It must have been difficult at the start, but you both seem to have a Peace, Patience and tranquility about you. It is going to be so amazing.
    You are both so talented, you work beautifully together and are both incredably hard workers . It is such a pleasure to watch over your shoulders my friends. Take care🧚🏼‍♀️💕

    Funny how many people came to you through the Johannes>Martijn Doolard connection! I didn't, although I keenly follow both which says quite a bit about myself and my interests! I guess I was simply seduced by you! I dare say we find our tribe through inner unconscious callings based on what the senses perceive 😃.
    I am Portuguese, recently retired and back in my home country after 20 years working abroad in the UK and Ireland. I am back on a small homestead that used to be my grandparent's and where I used to spend holidays as a child. Although it used to be fairly remote with one train into town only once a week, it is now a bustling commuter town on the outskirts of the city of Porto. This has pros and cons for someone my age. My little corner, however, remains green and full of wild unpruned trees, brambles and everything else that goes with land that has been kept fallow for a long time. I am also starting again so I will be following you keenly in Estonia. Good luck!

    I have been watching your vlogs, not in real sequence. This permaculture garden is so beautiful and bountyfull! Have you thought about a beehive in your new land or making an "insect wood house" for bumble bees and carpenter bees and other beneficial insects? A beehive would also produce honey, would have to be in a shelterd area from the very hard cold.

    • @The.Land.of.Slow.Living
      @The.Land.of.Slow.Living  ปีที่แล้ว

      I hope our garden here will have a more similar vibe in the future, more perrenials and flowers. Indeed I have been thinking lately about those insect houses. I want to add some here, and some birdhouses/bat houses too. Just have to find the time :) As for honey, two of our neighbors have honeybees and I'm happy with that!

      @@vincentput Heel veel herten en everzwijnen in Hechtel met de omringende bossen en het militair domijn ;) Haha , hier in Estland zijn we zo langzaamaan de tuin aan het afsluiten (inclusief het huis en de fruitbomen enz). In mijn ervaring komen de herten hier enkel in de winter mijn koolplanten opeten, everzwijnen komen niet te dichtbij maar zitten wel in de bossen ;) we maken zo een takkenwand rond de tuin waar we braambessen over laten groeien, en een deel krijgt ook zo'n groene gewoven omheining van 1,5m met hier en daar poortjes.

    Our home is also an island in the Baltic sea, a small cottage in the forest. But we have so many, many tourists and rich people from the mainland that buy houses that the island is almost being destroyed by too many people especially in summer when there is not even enough water due to all the summerhouse owners and tourists...We are thinking of finding another island somewhere...Do you have a lot of tourists on your island or is it protected from that?

    • @The.Land.of.Slow.Living
      @The.Land.of.Slow.Living  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh wow that sounds like quite the situation. So many tourists? Which island do you live on? I think Saaremaa is kind of touristy but haven't really noticed that much the past few years , but I guess that might have been a bit of an exception with the covid thing. There is seldom a place where you can go (beaches, forests) where it is busy here, even in summertime. There are a few places all the tourists gather though but they are not so interesting anyway so easy to avoid lol :)

    • @henriettanovember4733
      @henriettanovember4733 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@The.Land.of.Slow.Living The island of Gotland. We have so many summerhouse owners and rich people that buy old ancient farms and renovate them beyond recognition to make a summer playground for themselves. Farmers must sell forest and land to summerhouses to survive. There are so many tourists that camp all over the island that there is almost not one spot left in peace during summer. The island will be ruined. And also, ordinary people cannot afford to buy homes as the prices due to this are very high indeed. To me it is so, so sad to see the island of my ancestors abused like this and reduced to a playground for selfish humans with money...

    • @ChandChandramukhi
      @ChandChandramukhi 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@henriettanovember4733 how sad! Since this trend appeared, with buying houses and land in countryside, all the nature is spoiled by these people who don't care for nature. They don't care in fact if it is nature or Dubai. Just to have another cement and concrete mastodon, this time with a view. In Romania is the same, they renovate and put fences and walls. They don't interact with locals and put fences on meadows, where before community was grazing the animals. But I keep saying this is the fault of locals, who sell their land.
