We made a "Tomegata Kakushi Ari Gomai Kumi Tsugi.'' It is a full-blind dovetail (secret miter dovetail) in English. It is said to be a uniquely Japanese woodworking joint. When assembled, the intricate dovetail joints are invisible.
The video also describes traditional Japanese tools, processing techniques, and tips.
This is one of the wooden joints for "First-class Furniture Making Master Craftsman," a national qualification in Japan. It accounts for just over 20% of the 5.5 hours for the qualification exam.
    The other joints:
▼Twin mortise and tenon joint with sword tip miter
    • Japanese Woodworking J...
▼Stopped sliding dovetail joint with angled cut shoulder
    • Japanese Woodworking J...
    ▼Doweled miter joint

Hiding your master joinery has to be the biggest craftsman flex I've ever seen

I don't know how your channel avoid my attention so far. This is easily one of the best presented and most professional videos in the woodworking joinery category on TH-cam. You deserve much larger audience!

Since you don't know why this channel gets little attention, I will explain why.
The fact you say this is a good video tells me you are not a wood worker of some standing. This video is basically useless in that the all-important details are missing. No explanation on how to transfer markings from one element to another, for example (by far the most important piece of information) is completely missing.
Unless what you are looking for is the definition of blind dovetails joint, in which case you can use a dictionary, this video has zero value, it is just advertising for a brand of saws, nothing else.

I've only been woodworking for a few years but doing something like this would take me several hours... I truly appreciate the skill of the woodworker AND the art of Japanese techniques ❤️🚀🙏

Boy, do I have a lot of work to do to get to this level...... Sharpening the tools has been the easy part. Learning how to use them is the difficult part....

Please make a video how to make that "Tomekoguchi-dai" jig :)
With hand-tools only if possible (is machines required?).

    Hello!
    It's incredibly cool!
I tried to find information about Tomekoguchi-dai on the internet but to no avail.
Let me ask you, did you make or buy it? And where can I find information about this tool?
