Brett, a fine addition to your fleet. The front end of the early XJ6s with the low bumper always stand out from the later ones, having the early cam covers with Jaguar machined with the ribbing are cool too.
Hi Brett so glad to hear you finally sold Mr. White and now you have this XJ seems pretty solid and with the Jagmans magic touch you will make it sterling again looking forward to the next part on this one Brett best regards Andy Allen.
Always exciting when a new Jag comes in. Somehow, the older they be, the more exciting they are - even though my favourites are the Series 3 examples. This new Mr White is in vgc, considering it's a cheapo Series 1.
Nice find! I have a 72 XJ6 S1 as well . Love it. It was white when I bought it, but it's now dark blue. That A/C is not factory. You have a nice project there. Have fun. Cheers.
@@Haffschlappe No they will NOT. It's only new petrol and diesel cars that are supposed to be illegal from 2035. But they've already pushed the date back once (from 2030) and doubtless will have to do so again, because it's unworkable. Sales of EVs are falling sharply amongst private buyers. In any case, classic cars are not affected at all.
Bought a S1 SWB 6, back in the early 80's, and bought a burnt out XJS V12 had turbo 400, stripped the S1 to a shell fixed all the rust, rebuilt the front and rear end fitted early V12 carbs/manifolds , coolant pipes etc, put it all in .... long story
You done good Brett. It has gone to the right person to give it a new lease of life. Reckon that AC is going to be more trouble than it’s worth. Shame someone saved money with the reupholster in vinyl.
Good luck with the new project. You have the discipline to sell something before you buy the next thing! Unfortunately I don’t….! Still married though….!
There was no badging on the first of the XJs as everyone was supposed to be able to identify it as a Jag from its superb styling. Love the SWB models, especially the S2.
Definitely true. Look at original press release photos of them in the day, they never had the word Jaguar anywhere on the exterior. I just noticed the other day though when looking at my 72 S1's boot that the wings added either side of the lock were added to recreate the old winged Jaguar logo
Had one of these in the same colour when I was 19 (now 74.) Miss it like hell. You mentioned Doctor Jag has retired in a previous video. Where is the next best place to take a jag for repair in the Sydney region. Cheers, Steve. (Live your videos.)
I love the series 1 XJ6. I had one in the 70's but I lost interest with series 3 after they played around with the original design. Fell in love with the X300 and so I got back in the seat with one 7 years ago and never looked back. I use a very low milage 2006 2.1ltr FWD X type as a run around, but not impressed with the V6. A 2.5ltr 4 cylinder would have been a much better engine in that car. Loved the designs of the old Jags but could not go for a modern one. The Jags I loved were never just about the name, but about their originality and their artistic designs.
hozit TJM, i recently stumbled across your channel and enjoy it a lot!! What is you opinion on a 69 S1 2.8 manual? one has come in the market, South-Africa, and i`m considering a closer look at it.
SHE LOOKS TERRIFIC, well done. But am concerned about the rust, even if tiny! round front and rear screens. To do the car justice the screens will have to come out as you know - you can't de-rust with the screen, glass and rubbers in place.
On these old style rubbers the rust has not penetrated to the screen so it should be ok. Yes removing the screen is the best option but not economical for this old girl. I will not go near a series 3 with rust around the screen, big job!
I just bought my first Jaguar three weeks ago (2004 XJ8 Vanden Plas). I'm loving your videos.
Congrats! Thanks, Mate!
Looks like a big job Brett .
Brave man indeed 💪
One off the best shapes i recon for a jag 4 door nice
Lovely purchase, looking forward to seeing you improve it 😊

Great find, well worth the $500
Looks like it is going to be a fun project
Congratulations! Very nice purchase. All the best! Look forward to your next video! 🎶🍷🌴
Best looking car ever. Im hooked

Good score mate that motor is running sweet 👌
Always loved the Series 1. I look forward to seeing what you do with this one.
Stunning car. Good man, Brett.
Love your enthusiasm for the new ones!
Good luck Brett, those rust holes around the front and back windscreens concern me a bit. Watching with interest
If it was a series 3, I would not touch it, but they should clean nicely
Looks like a Beauty..Had a 4.2 years ago.Mk2...Havn't got the skills to do one up.Hope it goes well for you.👍
Thanks, you too!
Good luck to you. I would love to have a project like that but I have to clean my shed out and make some room. 👍👍😉😉
😁
Very nice series I.
That is a beauty. One day, I will buy a Series 1 XJ.
Fantastic car and just the right colour white it's the best colour for a Jaguar love it
Thanks Michael
Greetings from the UK. I look forward to seeing this classic back on the road.
In UK sadly soon All Gas cars will be illegal too

Your vid made me laugh, on the strength of that thumbs up and subscribed.

Nice on XJ 6 , looking forward to future videos.
Looks tidy series1 Xj , you'll make it itbetter
Just as my first xj6 looked like, except it being very rotten underneath which led to total resto.

Love your show mate, im looking for a gooood XJC 4.2
Well done,
Nice find Brett!
The 1972 didn’t have a Jaguar sign on the boot. Just the 4.2 litre on the right.

Nice! It'll need some work, but I think it's a good base.

Brett, she is a beauty m8. just beautiful.
Looking good Brett!
Ideal candidate for a chevy V8 swap ;)
Nooooo!
Not many 'if any' that clean left hear in the UK. Rear cradle looks tidy too.

I'm glad to have you on board
While the manual is a big plus, the 2.8 is a negative, too slow, plus they had issues.
Look for a good 4.2!
Well done Brett.. looks good compared to mine LOL
😁
Timing chain sounds like it needs adjusting mate.
sounds worse in the video but will check it, thanks,
Buy a Mk10......it's an over blown S1....that'll be balls of fun
