I was on the Camino first and left the water filter at home, and I didn't need it. I don't consider the Grayl a good filter for thru-hikes. It is too heavy, too expensive, and the individual cartridges have a short lifespan. A Sawyer Squeeze or Platypus Quickdraw are cheaper and lighter. I wish you a nice trip and hope you are walking more than the last 63 miles because those were really not that great on the Camino Frances/Primitivo/del Norte compared to the rest. Which Camino are you walking?
