@@calebcomet1868 Ironwood needed Winter to become the Maiden so that they could access the Staff again - the only way to "turn up the power output" would be to access the physical relic, which means opening the vault again.
@@calebcomet1868 Did you answer yourself? Cause the implication is that they opened the seal... set atlas to a floating state.... then closed the seal. They'd need to open the seal back up, set atlas to a higher floating state, then close it back or whatever.
Vernal was pretending to be the spring maiden raven revealed to yang that the spring maiden was weak and scared and ahe killed her out of her idea of mercy making raven the new spring maiden.
A bittersweet ending for Volume 7: - Winter is wounded, lost the maiden's power to Penny, and now lost her sister who had to leave. - Cinder and Neo have possession of the lantern, Salem's on the horizon, and Tyrian's on the loose. - A bookend of RWBY coming in to Atlas with a "stolen" ship, then leave with a stolen ship. There's many more to discuss, but that's what I found interesting. There's a dilemma now for RWBY's team and Co: Leave Atlas or save one of the cities. With many players on the playing field, Atlas and Mantle will about to turn into warzone again.
Well, Atlas isn't going anywhere. And I am still thinking there is a very big risk of it falling, literally. I am also thinking Qrow let himself be taken into custody. Perhaps thinking that will get him to James faster. He could escape any time he wants to. Pietro, Penny, Giant Grimm Whale. As lore would have it, this does not bode well for Penny's longevity as the Winter Maiden. I am feeling my prediction at the start of V7 may be true. They brought Penny back just to kill her off again in some grand, heartstring tugging fashion. So the question would be, who would succeed her as Winter. Still waiting for Neo to turn on Cinder. She has got to be fed up with Cinder's mess. Accept for the aquistion of the Lamp, none of the goals Neo signed up for were accomplished. Didnt kill Ruby. Didnt get Winter. Not even a thank you for the Lamp, which wasn't part of the original deal. It's back stabbin time!
You forgot to mention the waste of more Blake development. Her being a Faunus in atlas was almost completely glossed over. It’s bitter sweet until you think of actually narrative they setup and stuff being ignored for the sake of the plot.
I can think of one more way it could get more bittersweet. As Ironwood said the Staff of Creation can "be used for a single purpose" if Team RWBY could get to the Staff they could use it to create an Anti-Grimm field that will either instantly destroy them or at lest severely weaken them. In either case the tide would be turned against Salem but Atlas would fall as a result of losing the staffs power.
Bryan D. Completely agree. Blake (and Weiss to some extent) wasted in Atlas. In what could have been a perfect opportunity to explore the plight of the Faunus in what was supposedly one of the biggest places known for their persecution. I did like Weiss's scenes with her sister. But Blake was reduced to fanserving shipping fodder. No individual personality or purpose, just one half of ship. What a waste!
The power Oscar used to save himself is the same power used by Ozpin in his fight with Cinder in the Volume 3 finale. Ozpin's staff stored Ozma's magic. He did say that it had more tricks left in it! =)
Winter couldn't approach the maiden because her aura was broken during the fight with Cinder. Penny (and her clothes) were fine because her aura protected her. It had nothing to do with her being an android.
People have gone there by airship, space travel is literally impossible and in Salem's first appearance at the end of Volume 3 the moon is right there in the background. The guys need a refresher course on RWBY pronto.
Salem never lived on the moon because we always could see the moon from where her castle is. It still hasn't been revealed but the only real possibility is that her castle is on the Dragon Continent (North West of Remnant), a place where there is no kingdom. The whale Grimm can fly because of the gravity dust encrusted within its body. As for Ozpin, its cane stores time and thus allegedly memories. The current understanding is that he can tap into these memories if needed. That is why Oscar got access to Ozpin's powers after activating the cane. The green bubble he used to land is one example of Ozpin's powers (Ozpin used it against Cinder in V3).
If you look closely at Cinder's grimm arm that it's further up her arm than last time we've seen it, it's all the way up to her shoulder now. There's a theory that the arm is consuming her and she'll eventually be reduced to just a mindless grimm.
@@danielwilson8604 Binging these over again while I get into their Vol 8 reactions, just felt like dropping a few replies. Well, where I felt something could be added anyway :)
Love that the credits song, Fear, is Oscar's song! He finally got a song! And it's linked to the things he said in volume 5 about his own fear, and ties into his speeches to Ironwood about how you can't let fear control you, and that secrecy is a consequence of fear, but can be combatted with trust. CRWBY said Oscar's speeches are what made Ozpin realize he's hiding out of fear of trust, and came back to face it.
People say qrow is the scare crow or him and raven are the crow and raven from the myth involving Odin, for some reason people are typically adamant that a character can’t have more than one reference
That would be a good explanation, but I feel that the way the showed was really just "oh, I don't feel cold cuz I'm a robot", and just didn't wanted her to be naked. I was kind expecting her clothes to disappear and she would look like a doll underneath, like, it would be kinda weird if she had nipples and stuff since Pietro built her, so it wouldn't be thaaat weird if she lost her clothes, but I'm totally fine with her keeping them lol I think that if it was because of her Aura it would have shimmered or something just to let us know "she has her aura so she can go in", but she just looked at her hands.
@@groynin Well, she's probably more resistant to the cold than other people, sure. But Winter's aura was explicitly broken, thus she couldn't protect herself or her clothes, which is why her glove was shredded like that. It's also why Cinder's Grimm arm was hurt; aura doesn't protect her arm, either. Penny being more resilient means she was in less danger when she jumped in, but if we need an in-universe explanation for why her clothes weren't destroyed, the most straightforward one is that her aura was still up. (As opposed to the out-of-universe explanation that they aren't going to show an ostensibly teenage character nude on-screen, come on now).
The Lion lost his courage, the Tin Man sacrifices his heart and the Scarecrow is loosing his mind, all while the blue fairy gave the the puppet a soul.
Yikes, you guys might want to rewatch the past few volumes lol Raven was the spring maiden, she was using Vernal as her decoy. And Salem isn't on the moon, she's most likely on the dragon-shaped continent to the west. Ironwood's plan was to use the staff of creation to move Atlas further up, where most flying grimm can't even reach, but he needed the winter maiden to open the vault to reach the relic. Now that he doesn't have the maiden he can't move Atlas. Another thing about Ironwood is that his decision to shoot Oscar is not necessarily out of character. By the end of this volume, he's so paranoid and afraid, without wanting to admit it since he's supposed to be the one in charge of protecting everyone. Oscar to him isn't just some kid, he's the next Ozpin. Ozpin spent their entire allyship lying about his and Salem's joint origin, the fact that she seemingly can't be killed, and the fact that he didn't even have a plan to defeat her all along. On top of all that, Ironwood has always criticized Ozpin for acting passively instead of anticipating danger, like when Beacon was attacked, so he may blame Beacon's fall partially on Ozpin. He knows that Ozpin would disagree with his plan to abandon Mantle and he doesn't feel he can afford to humor Ozpin's or anyone else's passivity anymore. It's also worth mentioning that 7, 8, and 9 are meant to be one complete arc, so things aren't meant to be resolved this volume. They'll most likely go into Ren's state of mind next volume.
That whole line during Ozpins speech about forgiveness and understanding why some one did the things they did was totally him saying do you get it now. Do you understand why I have trust issues? Raven betrayed me, Leo betrayed me, and Jimmy just shot me.
You have forgotten waaaaay too much from the series. You should rewatch to actually understand what happens. I know you guys watch a lot of different shows and its hard to remember but the quality of your video drops since you dont have all the required knowledge of key moments of the show anymore.
This OST is amazing... can’t wait for the release. Jeff is perfecting it now for release (no, I don’t know a release date) but I talked to him the other day... it’s going to be sick. 🤘🏻
I'm not sure who the guy is that thinks that Salem lives on the moon but, after all this time, it's quite clear that she does not. She lives on some unexplored "Land of Darkness" on Remnant. Remember, one of the things that is established in this world is that the human population is quite small (comparatively speaking) and a lot of Remnant is unexplored or uncontrolled territory.
It's a parasol! *eyetwitch* Ahem... the shatter and escape thing is literally the first thing we ever saw her do, with Torchwick after the mech fight. I'm disappointed in Ironwood, but that's because it's been a hell of a character arc; I wouldn't be surprised if this was the plan from the start. And I have to admit, Jessica voiced Cinder's pain wonderfully. Oscar smashed through the bottom of the floating city to land on the tundra below, using Ozpin's magic. Still miffed about the Qrow fight, I suspect it was just to place him in Atlas for the next volume. ...Still, with the moon thing?
Semblances! - Ironwood: Mettle: Attains hyper-focus to achieve his goal, clearing out almost all distractions...or figuring out how to remove distractions. - Clover: Good Fortune: Influences probability of positive outcomes for himself and allies. - Harriet: Super-Speed: Increases movement speed greatly. - Elm: Aura Roots: Anchors her legs to surfaces, reducing any knockback from her attacks or from others. - Vine: Aura Vines: Projects long tendrils from his arms and legs. - Marrow: Freeze: Stops movement from a lifeform (and any others near it) by pointing to it and saying "Stay!" Only active as long as he keeps pointing at the target. - Robyn: Lie Detection: By holding someone's hand, her Aura will change color depending on whether their words are truth or lies. - Fiona: Pocket Dimensions: Stores an object, even one as big as a van, into a sort of hammerspace. - May: Invisibility Field: Projects a spherical field that hides the visual and audial presence of herself and chosen targets.
Raven (Yang's biological mother) _is_ the Spring Maiden. Vernal was a decoy (and probably who Raven would have _tried_ to pass the power to if she died; whether or not she would have succeeded at that is another matter--and is now moot, since Vernal died at Haven).
I follow Caleb as well, and I think he got picked to do a song both because he's done covers for RWBY, but the Red Like Rose pt. 2 cover he did, that Eric started playing, Casey joined him on it for the second half of it.
So yang's mom (raven) is the spring maiden. She was using the girl as cover so people would not catch onto her being the maiden. That's why yang's mom and cinder started fighting. Now we have penny (the robot) as winter and cinder is the fall maiden, but cinder is not fully realized because she didnt get her powers all at once and she was it injured shortly after recieving the remaining power and her mental state slows her ability as well as being part grim.
Honestly, I think Ironwood's wrong here. It's not the moment he let his guard down that let Salem in, it's the moment he tries to put it back up by withdrawing everyone to Atlas and ordering Winter to go to Fria. Not that Salem necessarily knew Cinder would be following Winter, but it seems like she was at least generally aware of where Cinder was in Vol 6.
Remember that aura protects you (and your clothes) from damage. Winter’s aura was broken so she had no protection from the cold. Also Cinder’s Grimm arm is vulnerable because aura can’t protect it.
My theory is that the "spear" aka the Staff of Creation is going to be used... Either to create something to defeat Salem or raise the Amity satellite... whatever happens Atlas will come down... I can see no way that Atlas basically the symbol of oppression for Mantle stays in the sky...
hio i woud say qrow is just a crow and the scarecrow is the headmaster of the last shool (proabably a dud with strawblond fuzzy hair and he is afraied of fire)
Maybe I am wrong but Winter's aura was broken and she had no protection from the intense cold. So maybe it is that aura covers their entire body including clothes.
W-Why would they assume Salem lives on the moon? When whenever they show where she lives it also shows the broken moon? Salem probably lives in the sacred place of the God of Darkness which is the most likely uninhabited continent that is above the continent of Sanus.

I assume they used the winter maiden a long time ago to open the seal when they set up Atlas, and then closed it again.
A bittersweet ending for Volume 7:
- Winter is wounded, lost the maiden's power to Penny, and now lost her sister who had to leave.
It's back stabbin time!
they aren't leaving Atlas, My bet the solution will involve launching Amity into the whale
Damn I love this episode so much! Ozpin's fear monologue, their eyes glowing one after another and the music oh my gODD
SALEM DOES NOT LIVE ON THE MOON FOR THE LAST TIME, CALVIN!
9:00 It's because Penny's Aura is still active. Winter's Aura was broken not long ago by Cinder, so she couldn't get close to the blistering cold.
And in that moment when Ironwood pulled the trigger, was when he truly lived up to the inspiration of the Tin Man. A man without a heart.
*Salem's though process for the new grim:* C'mon guys, we could use whales. WHAAAAAAAAAAALES!!!!!!!!!!

The power Oscar used to save himself is the same power used by Ozpin in his fight with Cinder in the Volume 3 finale. Ozpin's staff stored Ozma's magic. He did say that it had more tricks left in it! =)

James: “Saw you hanging out with RWBY the other day!”
Oscar: “James it’s not what you think!”
Ironwood: “I won’t hesitate b!tch!”
*FIRES*
Winter couldn't approach the maiden because her aura was broken during the fight with Cinder. Penny (and her clothes) were fine because her aura protected her. It had nothing to do with her being an android.
Anyone else get annoyed that they couldn't correct the team when they thought Vernal was the spring maiden and Raven wasn't.
I don’t kno why they don’t just go back and look at that type of stuff it’s old you can’t be soiled
"I thought she was on the moon"
CALVIN. WHY. Why is this still a thing!? We've seen people go there by fucking airship!
"James, is what my friends call me... To you...
it's general."
A great moment every time.
Such a great line
At least we know Volume 8 is going to be one of hell of a ride.
If you look closely at Cinder's grimm arm that it's further up her arm than last time we've seen it, it's all the way up to her shoulder now. There's a theory that the arm is consuming her and she'll eventually be reduced to just a mindless grimm.

Neo's semblance is physical illusions, by the way.
Supposedly. It's so vague and been explicitly unexplained that it can be literally anything in the ballpark of "illusions".
Her semblance is the three academy jutsu, plus some extra genjutsu.

Penny's clothes are fine because she still has her aura up.
That would be a good explanation, but I feel that the way the showed was really just "oh, I don't feel cold cuz I'm a robot", and just didn't wanted her to be naked. I was kind expecting her clothes to disappear and she would look like a doll underneath, like, it would be kinda weird if she had nipples and stuff since Pietro built her, so it wouldn't be thaaat weird if she lost her clothes, but I'm totally fine with her keeping them lol
I think that if it was because of her Aura it would have shimmered or something just to let us know "she has her aura so she can go in", but she just looked at her hands.
@@Draconaes it's possible they also are her skin or reinforced in some way. Considering last time
Calvin still thinks Salem lives on the moon oml
"There are two moons."
Well she's like to visit the moon. on a rocket-Grimm high, in the air.
Yes she'd like, to visit the moon. But i don't think she'd like to live there.
The Lion lost his courage, the Tin Man sacrifices his heart and the Scarecrow is loosing his mind, all while the blue fairy gave the the puppet a soul.
Salem lives in the former domain of the God of Darkness. It's most likely in the unknown western continent. The one that's kinda shaped like a dragon.
Yikes, you guys might want to rewatch the past few volumes lol
Raven was the spring maiden, she was using Vernal as her decoy.
Aaron: "Run, Oscar!"
Oscar: "I just fought this crazy chick for gods knows how long, and you expect me to keep up with the others?"
You have forgotten waaaaay too much from the series. You should rewatch to actually understand what happens. I know you guys watch a lot of different shows and its hard to remember but the quality of your video drops since you dont have all the required knowledge of key moments of the show anymore.
Guess the big whale is Monstro from Pinnocchio
"Dread it. Run from it. The end comes all the same. And now it's finally here. Or should I say, I am."
The other way aroud! Raven said that Varnel (or how you spell it) was the maiden, but it was actually Raven
Maybe she lives on the other moon?
RWBY Volume 7: Ironwood shoots a kid
It's a parasol! *eyetwitch* Ahem... the shatter and escape thing is literally the first thing we ever saw her do, with Torchwick after the mech fight. I'm disappointed in Ironwood, but that's because it's been a hell of a character arc; I wouldn't be surprised if this was the plan from the start. And I have to admit, Jessica voiced Cinder's pain wonderfully. Oscar smashed through the bottom of the floating city to land on the tundra below, using Ozpin's magic. Still miffed about the Qrow fight, I suspect it was just to place him in Atlas for the next volume.
...Still, with the moon thing?
its a good thing Neo didn't just decide to snap Oscar's neck when he stopped struggling.
Neo is antagonist. She wont do that with no reason and she is no villain but Cinder is 100% a villain
Now that you guys are done with volume 7 of RWBY. Do you perhaps, want to a reaction to All the RWBY Soundtrack?
(At 9:30) Penny Polendina meets the Winter Maiden. Or in _this_ case, _Pinocchio_ meets the _Blue Fairy._

This episode was a solid 10/10!
Gen:Lock time now? :D
I would love for them to react to Genlock, I feel like they might enjoy it too.
16:03 right!? literally the new Weiss Schnee lmao 😂😂😂

I guess you could say that Volume 8 is going to be a *RWBY ENDGAME*
This isnt gonna end whale
I'm still wondering who the Summer Maiden is, and what they plan to do with the relic in Vacuo.
Eric: "He's [Ren] been stressed out all season"
Volume 8: "Hold my beer"
Raven is the spring maiden, Vernal was decoy. Penny is the Winter maiden and Cinder is fall maiden.
Clearly it's time for RWBY Chibi now
Salem: You cannot live with your own fear. Where did that bring you? Straight to me.
(At 14:23) Penny Polendina: I'm a Real girl! …… I think?
@Blind Wave Yangs mom was secretly the spring maiden (revealed after her second hand died)
Remember that aura protects you (and your clothes) from damage. Winter’s aura was broken so she had no protection from the cold. Also Cinder’s Grimm arm is vulnerable because aura can’t protect it.
Penny still has aura, pretty sure it can also protect clothes(?)
I feel like they were saying something about everyone who wasn't at Beacon
18:25 oh damn ironwood is mad AF
One of them needs to do a rewatch because they forget this show far too easily.
(At 15:51) Qrow: _There goes _*_MY_*_ future husband._
My theory is that the "spear" aka the Staff of Creation is going to be used... Either to create something to defeat Salem or raise the Amity satellite... whatever happens Atlas will come down... I can see no way that Atlas basically the symbol of oppression for Mantle stays in the sky...
Boss, you shot a child. AMAZING MISSION COMPLETE, THAT RIGHT THERE IS WHY YOU'RE THE BEST BOSS!
hio i woud say qrow is just a crow and the scarecrow is the headmaster of the last shool (proabably a dud with strawblond fuzzy hair and he is afraied of fire)
Maybe I am wrong but Winter's aura was broken and she had no protection from the intense cold. So maybe it is that aura covers their entire body including clothes.
As a person who has Thalassophobia and Megalophobia, that gigantic whale at the ending scares the fuck out of me
(At 13:02) the Tin Man has lost his heart
W-Why would they assume Salem lives on the moon? When whenever they show where she lives it also shows the broken moon? Salem probably lives in the sacred place of the God of Darkness which is the most likely uninhabited continent that is above the continent of Sanus.
Hey Blind Wave, did y'all notice that Cinder's Grimm arm is slowly expanding, devouring her?
Penny's clothes didn't disintegrate because she still had Aura. Winter did not after the fireball she took.
