    Didn’t know that pencil markings will still be visible after painting. Good tip!

      Yesss shocking right? For white and light colours, it may still be visible after many coats... the painter gave up and didn't give us a solution lol

    Thanks for the tips! Can i ask how long did the whole painting process take? And during the painting process, are yall there to monitor all the time?

    • @thesuakus
      @thesuakus  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello! You're most welcome 😀 total they have come four trips so far (over three weeks) it was not easy for our ID to book their time. We tried to make it a point to be there so that defects can be rectified immediately rather than go through back and forth with the middleman ID... we will schedule the touch ups at the end after carpentry and plaster works are fixed!

    Hello,
    Thanks for your tips. It is very useful for all of us. Are you able shar the cost for service yard window ?

    • @thesuakus
      @thesuakus  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It is our pleasure to be able to share these with fellow homeowners! 😀 Our ID charged us $600 for it. On hindsight, we would've gone with other group buy vendors that are much cheaper around $500 or so.

    Hi, what type of sandpaper you use for sanding the walls ?

    • @thesuakus
      @thesuakus  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello! You can use the fine kind for paint!

    Hi! Do we need oil sealer for the second new coat if hdb contractor had already applied oil sealer for the first painting coat?

    • @thesuakus
      @thesuakus  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello! From what we understand, the sealer is to help the new paint coat bite better and prevent peeling off the old coat. So normally it is recommended for each fresh coat of paint

    Nail polish remover is able to remove sticky residue too

    is it illegal to remove the fire alarm right smack in the living room ceiling? what do owners who do up the the entire false ceiling do?

    • @thesuakus
      @thesuakus  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question, as the mandatory HFAD only applies to residential projects with building plans submitted from 2018. As our BTO project started construction before 2018, we may be one of those spared in transition and hence not explicitly covered. But then again, it's for safety of all residents so we highly urge every homeowner (new and existing) to maintain at least one HFAD! Those with full false ceilings can opt to relocate it to the kitchen 😀

    @ongzhaoguang610 ปีที่แล้ว

    BTo flat already came with sealer applied?

    • @thesuakus
      @thesuakus  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! Unlikely as the walls come with low quality paint that powders off the moment you glide your palm across it.

    • @ongzhaoguang610
      @ongzhaoguang610 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thesuakus the painting uncle said he got do BTO projects..and BTO normally already painted with sealer..

    • @thesuakus
      @thesuakus  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @ongzhaoguang610 I guess if you are 100% certain and do not have new plaster partition walls or false ceiling, then just proceed with normal paint base coats. 😀
