Little thing Oxhorn, the harness with the skeletons are a reference to Dr Who with a similar harness that will inherit its wearer’s personality even after they die. If you have wild wasteland the suits will even say “who turned out the lights?”

I've found the Pulse gun from Vault 34 to be more effective than the Sonic Emitter.
And don't get me started on the running gun battles I had with groups of Lobotomites and Trauma suits.
The walking skeltons are a reference to a Dr Who enemy.
First encountered the Y-17 Trauma override harness while playing late at night, rounded a corner and had it right in front of me, nearly crapped my pants lol. They are creepy as hell.

This whole dlc was made when the Obsidian branch in charge of old world blues was locked in a room filled with all kinds of drugs and was told to make a science story.
Old World Blues was my favourite DLC in any game ever.
There is one thing i have to say the intro is Awesome

Ox you could have taken a set of reinforced combat armour and the police pistol with you into Big MT because there not in short supply and so it would not be a problem if they were left behind

The old world blues is EXCRUCIATING to go through if you made a guns character, especially if it's a shotgun focused character, the sink only sells 7 shells, I ran out of ammo on my hunting shotgun after a couple of hours.
Bet it would have helped if you knew of the use any ammo in any gun exploit.
The voice actor for Dr Borous does the promos for my city's local morning talk show and it's really weirding me out.

Gunner 2: Why would you die from the glass breaking? The air outside isn’t that bad.
Han: You really do have no knowledge, do you? There is no air outside. No, we haven’t been brainwashed, you’re probably a little far from home.
John Dee: Then where are we?!
Han: I don’t answer questions that hint hastiness.
Prestons: Okay, where are we? You’ll have to excuse my friend.
Han: Don’t worry, I’ve learned patience. I’ll tell you where you are, it’s not a comfortable place, and you have to believe me.

James: Like what?
Han: First, let me introduce you to Kuo, the man who led you here. He’s one of our outside agents. He puts his life in danger to save others.

Han: Since we have made an agreement, you will be helping us here.
John Dee: No thanks, we need to get some other things.
Han: What other things?
John Dee: (Looks at Gerry) Hey, Gerry, can you bring Dr. Lister back on?
Gerry: BEEP (Dr. Lister) Yes?
John Dee: What did we need to gather?
Gerry: (Lister) You need to safely confiscate some technology in the city you’re in. Directly north of your current location.
Han: That’s the Imperial sector. Ha, good luck getting in there.
Gerry: (Lister) Who else is there with you?
Gunner 2: We met a few people...
Gerry: (Lister) Just stick to the mission, don’t get too attached to anyone or...anything. Goodbye. (Static)

Old world blues i would say is a very interesting DLC and even challenging, fighting robots is something that can slaughter most players because to my knowledge there are no robots in the mojave, and some of the gear you can get, preferably the stealth suit and saturnite power fist and before you say no its not great, the two step goodbye is better, well you maybe right but the saturnite powerfist, something that is fucking fast, something you can get for free and you can super heat it, kicks even more asses when you know the fist technique
but it might be old world blues introducing the best perk, dem good eatin, a perk i heavily advise getting as early as possible, may your hunts be rich

I always abused the pylon mechanic in this DLC, especially when playing on survival. "You are over encumbered and cannot fast travel." *Simply walks past pylon for free fast travel*
Michael Wunder or you can get the long haul perk that allows you to fast travel while over encumbered.
Bram Weenink which is very true. But, until fallout 4, I always thought that it was a wasted perk since I always had two companions with me.

Oh man that episode of Doctor Who legitimately scared the ever living shutout of me. The vashta nerada using the bodies/skeletons in the space suits to move around just really got to me.
I think it scared all of us but they're an amazing idea for a creature
they originally weren't actually a reference to that, the only connection is the wild wasteland line, though I recall seeing in the wine cellar area of the chapel of Dead Money 'No I'm not not your mummy!'

The difficulty was definitely not just you Oxhorn. They seemed to want to make the DLC's progressively more challenging, probably for people who had beat all or most of the main game already, and to make you earn the great perks you can get, but the battles in Big MT were often intense and non-stop, and I normally brought good armor with me.
On another note, always enjoy your DLC series, and this one is a great candidate for the Oxhorn treatment. Enjoying it so far and looking forward to the rest.

When I ended the dlc and go back to the bunker I had to shoot the radio, that final message from Vera was.. to much inmersive, I loved thar dlc, ox didn't cover that part isn't it?
Dead Money was one of my favorite DLCs. No matter how many times I played it, I was always so excited to get there.
I am disappointed that so many people dislike it because of its annoying mechanics, two types of enemies, confusing layout, and goddamn speakers, its great when you find all the lore!

So here's a thought I had while watching, Is this DLC some how linked with the Wizard of Oz? My reasons for thinking this is in the first episode we found out that your brine, heart and spine have been removed in that order. In the Wizard of Oz we meet the scarcrow who has no brain, the Tinman who has no heart and the loin who is cowardly or spineless. In this episode you are carrying around a gun that is like a dog. lets face it your not in New Vegas anymore. Just a thought

Can you do a video on any reasons why the weapons in New Vegas are so different to the weapons in Fallout 4? Like is there a reason the weapons on the West coast are more like the weapons in our world vs the weapons in the East coast are different?

Bc obsid entertainment actually wanted the game to have some feeling of familiarity when using ballistic guns I think. Really wish they would make the next fallout, there was a certain level of care with the story and depth compared to the others. Also fun side note. Fallout four's assault rifle looks like it's way to big to be used by normal people. Judging by the large handle on the tops, they could have been mounted on the sides of power armor for quick use or more accurate hip fire. Idk just a thought.

@@mastermarkus5307I played F4 before NV and I dont go back to play more F4, but I do go back to NV. And it sucks because F4 you can actually play after completing the story/game. NV you have to revert to an old save from before you finished.

What do you consider the "old games"? I can't even tell if this is a negative or positive comment. New Vegas is my favourite Fallout game because the story and lore feels similar to the first game, without being overly wacky like 2 or ... poorly-written like 3 and 4. But really, New Vegas is the second-newest (besides 76, which I keep forgetting about). To me the old games are just 1 and 2, which I think have definite good points, but I could never get into some of the gameplay.
For everyone, if you are playing or havent played this game much... this is my favorite DLC. You should use the sink as a home. You can come back after the DLC ends and it teleports you directly to the sink. Take advantage of this.

If the new heart and spine is much better, why would you want the old ones back? I understand wanting your brain, although if you still remember who you are, as long as it is safe, why have it back?
Liam Lane basicly you'll get double the perks. Some pieces of the implants will remain in your body after the surgery.

Liam Lane Well the cyborg spine is 1 Plus strength but when you add the the original spine it gives you another 1 plus to strength which adds up to 2 Plus to strength.
You lose the perks when you put the originals back in but gain new perks

Bringing a Riot Shotgun and a fat stack of pulse slugs will make fighting those Robo-Scorpions a lot easier. Ditto Steady to negate the weapon spread. And passing the intelligence/science checks is a breeze if you use Mentats, Party Time Mentats, and alcohol. Ditto carrying skill magazines and books; this isn't like Dead Money where you lose all your stuff. There's nothing stopping you from carrying anything and everything in your inventory into Big Mountain if you want to.
I sometimes don't know which is more broken: New Vegas or Oblivion. Bear in mind that out of the Fallout series, I've only played New Vegas, and the same holds true for Oblivion in the case of the Elder Scrolls games. Oblivion was RIFE with all manner of exploits, even before using the 100% Chameleon suit. Enchanting an item or making a spell could open the doors for all kinds of abuse. New Vegas is obviously in a sci-fi setting instead of high fantasy, but that's not to deny that it has its share of exploits. Just maxing your luck and strategically playing blackjack is an easy way to rob casinos blind and become the richest person in the Mojave. A fully modded Holorifle will blast through just about everything in the game. Companions? In practice, you only really need Boone and ED-E. Boone's Spotter perk illuminates enemies and that's BEFORE finding him an anti-materiel rifle, and ED-E? Just ED-E by himself is a game-breaker! He's a mobile turret, workbench, and reloading bench all in one package; and his Enhanced Sensors perk makes invisible enemies much easier to fight as you can actually target them in V.A.T.S. As for Old World Blues, I ALWAYS keep the artificial heart and spine no matter what because the bonuses you get from them are far better than if you recover your original organs. As long as you have the Heartless perk, you will never need an antivenom again. If you want to make Dead Money a hell of a lot easier, do the Brotherhood of Steel quests up to the point where you can go recover the missing laser pistol for the weapon merchant. Go to the Scorpion Gulch as if you were to do the quest normally, but don't go back to turn it in. Just march on over to that abandoned Brotherhood bunker and go to the Sierra Madre. The Missing Laser Pistol is a quest item and thus can't be removed from your inventory no matter what, making it a constant holdout weapon as long as you don't finish the BoS quest to recover it. Stacking the Sierra Madre Martini and Buffout together will make you almost invincible without turning on God Mode in the console. Jury Rigging can break the game economy because of how cheaply you can repair expensive weapons such as anti-materiel rifles and riot shotguns with similar, inferior weapons and then sell them for a profit. The gold bars from Dead Money will net you more caps than all the merchants in the game can afford COMBINED; good luck even finding someone with enough caps to buy ONE of the bars from you!
I just completed a playthrough with all the expansions done in the "right" order. Even then, I hadn't done the main quest beyond the tutorial when I started Dead Money. I began DM at level 5 and finished at level 10, shanghaing all the gold bars and killing Father Elijah. Elijah was easy as hell with a stack of mines and a well-timed Holorifle headshot. From there, it was straight off to the Northern Passage to start Honest Hearts. Passed the Survival check to carry more items, then stuck to the main quest except for Bighorners of the Eastern Virgin and killing Ghost of She. At the end of HH, I teamed up with Joshua Graham and killed the White Legs. Barring a few CTDs, I plowed through HH, as I only do it for Salt-Upon-Wounds' helmet and She's Embrace. Once back in the Mojave, I hightailed it to Primm to fix ED-E with the scrap parts but didn't add him to my party yet because it was off to Big Mountain from there. I explored every millimeter of Big Mt. with SUW's helm on my head, making damn fucking sure to grab every Sink personality holotape, every functional tape for the Sink appliances, every piece of weaponry and armor I could carry and/or sell. I had Dr. Venture a.k.a. Dr. 0 embrace his numerical name, kept all the Think Tank scientists and Dr. Mobius alive, and deliberately kept the Heartless and Spineless perks for the bonuses. After all that, I marched on to the Canyon Wreckage and plowed through Lonesome Road for the ED-E upgrades and Fist of Rawr, which has become my go-to Unarmed weapon (From that point forward, I only keep She's Embrace around as a holdout weapon). I already maxed out my Speech skill during OWB, so I was already able to persuade Ulysses into siding with me. I then nuked the Legion AND NCR so I could get all the post-DLC loot. All this before ever going back to the main quest. Having returned to the Mojave Wasteland, I went back to Primm to get ED-E, did a little work for the Powder Gangers (only going back to Goodsprings much later to help the townsfolk against the Powders), and all-around wrecked both the NCR and Legion's shit. I milked the opportunity to kill every NCR Ranger station off except Ranger Station Echo. I raided Camp Golf and killed all the rangers while leaving the troopers alone. I went through Nipton, killed Vulpes Inculta and his gang of slave-owning Roman reenactors, killed a few raiders, then some Legionaries (during the quest Booted), and popped some Profligates and more Legionaries at Ranger Station Charlie. I then did all the companion quests before ever entering the Lucky 38, save for Boone, Lily, and Arcade (whose quest involves visiting Mr. House anyway). All with only SUW's helmet (Read: The cooler modded version from The Legion Will Ryse) and a tribal armor mod for armor; a loadout of Fist of Rawr, a Pancor Jackhammer (added via a mod), and the Holorifle; and a fat stack of chems. I already had finished Boone's quest and stopped the Omertas before bumping off Caesar, then ultimately killed House, installed Yes Man, and betrayed the NCR by killing Kimball during the quest You'll Know It When It Happens. At the end of the game, I merked the shit out of Legate Lanius and General Oliver.

For my tribal character (picture something between Fudgemuppet's Tribal and Warrior builds but with an emphasis on unarmed weapons, shotguns, and the Holorifle, and you wouldn't be far off), I picked Science, Survival, and Unarmed as my tag skills. I focused on building Lockpick up during Dead Money so I wouldn't over-rely on hacking terminals. The only time I deviated from this general build was during Dead Money, using the Knife Spear and Police Pistol.
This playthrough took longer than most of my others, though. I kept searching and searching for a mod that altered SUW's helmet, combined with having a pet parrot that needs attention. Once I found The Legion Will Ryse, I downloaded and installed it, and I was in love. I don't know why Obsidian couldn't give us something like that as opposed to the small, less badass helmet we got in the vanilla game. TLWR's SUW helmet has this fucking skull with dreadlocks and horns on it. You pair that with ANY clothing or armor in the game and it looks AMAZING! NCR armor, Legion armor, raider armor, merc suits, vault jumpsuits, Brotherhood armor, Enclave armor, Sierra Madre armor, the Zion tribal armors, Vera's outfit, Scorched Sierra Power Armor, the Armor of the 87th Tribe--you name it, it looks infinitely more badass with this skull helmet, much more so than the vanilla version! My only complaint about the helmet was the horns. If I made this mod, I'd remove the horns because they'd be very cumbersome in combat. In close quarters, your opponent could easily grab your helmet and chop your head off. It's the same reason why Vikings NEVER wore horned helmets and why cops wear clip-on ties. At most, I'd put a crest similar to the ones you see on the Praetorian and Marked Beast helmets. I'd keep the dreads and skull because they look that damn good, but on the eye sockets of the skull, I'd put lenses similar to those on the Remnants and Gannon family helmets. Maybe make it a skull/power helmet hybrid thing.
Upon reaching Nipton, I skipped the quest Come Fly With Me (I went back and did it later, after getting Boone; I have an unlimited companion mod installed so I got everybody) and went right into Manny Vargas' room. Read the note on his terminal, then schlepped to Helios One so I could knock That Lucky Old Sun out of the way. I entered the joint disguised as a NCR soldier and kept my cover up til I got into the main tower to activate the array. I had also taken care to grab the solar array parts in advance for the Boomer quests. Sent power to the full region and offed a bunch of bear-flaggers by activating Archimedes II. From there, I went to attack Camp McCarran, killing only one named NPC (I didn't go into any of the tents). Went a few virtual hectometers to Ranger Station Delta and did the same thing, slaughtering the station to the man and ripping bare shit. Hightailed it to Boulder City in cognito to pump the Great Khans for info and free the NCR hostages, building my NCR rep from Vilified to Merciful Thug. Afterwards, it was off to 188 Trading Post to shop and get Veronica in my party. Hiked over to Ranger Station Alpha and fucked up some Rangers, then off to Repconn HQ to grab the Brotherhood holotape. Once Veronica, ED-E, and I left the building, I then spoke to Veronica, exhausted all the dialogue options about herself, and then spoke to her about Elijah to get the Elijah's Last Words perk for her. After that, I popped a bunch of chems and went to town on both NCR troopers and Fiends near Camp McCarran.
