Thank you again for all your details. I appreciate both of you! I’m a woman, so for me it is nice to her Bunny’s input, perspective and encouragement. It’s reinforcement for empowerment, we can do it😁🙏
You both do such a great job! You are informative & humorous too. It's nice to see someone who actually tries to help others and makes it entertaining, too
If you get a driveway rv that diesel fuel tank inlet is too small for the truck side island, go in front but go in and prepay at the fuel island side desk using your efs or com data card to get the discount
When Indiana Transport gave Keystone or forest river a bid to hold their RVs it was at a certain diesel fuel price plus fuel surcharge I don’t think those transport companies are passing the fuel surcharge onto the drivers you’re gonna have to check and you’re gonna have to understand how that works
I don't know if you knew this or not, but Pilot purchased up all the Flying J's ( aka Flying Hooks). That's why sometimes they're right next to each other because one of them use to be a Flying J, used to be competitors. FYI only.
Tom and Bunny you guys are the best! Please help, on a dodge mega cab as you allready know the beds are only about 6' 4" or 6' 5", what are the options for aux feul tanks? Where did you get yours? Also still be low profile enough for a bed cover. Any help much apreciated. Lorenzo TX
Tom and Bunny, when I was driving over the road up to 2017, there is an unspoken hack about showers. Fuel up at a truck stop that provides showers if you buy over 50 gallons of fuel. Use the Commercial Rewards Card from any Large truck stop chain, When you go inside to get your receipt and ask for showers, Tell them you have a Co-Driver. Unless they changed in the last 4 years, the Co-driver shower is free, and it does not go against your shower balance. I had a girlfriend riding with me in the truck, she was not even a driver, and we used to get showers for each 1 of us like that. Loves, Pilot, Flying J, Petro, TA, At all major chains like that gave 2nd showers without question. The reason that they do this is because when you run team, They know that you're co-driver cannot get a shower on your card if you only get 50 gallons.
We did not know this as we always just ask for extra towels and shower together but we have been asked if we wanted our own shower many times but never thought of the co driver that maybe they want a private shower lol
@@TowAwayCouple Just like you two do all the time in your videos, I like to pass on helpful info. You might check out, if this practice is still available to couples in the Industry. If it is, you can reach hundreds of subscribers, and more to help them out ! 👍
Such a great video! Info i was looking for. I have a class-A CDL Resently Purchased a new Dodge 3500 looking to startup my own business. This sounds like a great opportunity. Can you touch on the type ins. And tags you need ?
Can't you search along your whole route at one time with that app? I am leased on with wave and we use EFS and you can see the prices along your whole route at once, which makes planning your fuel stops easier, especially where you want to fill up your auxiliary tank(s). As to the fees with EFS, I haven't seen any fees other than the $1.00 taken each time Wave puts money on the card. There are no fees each time you fill up. So I pay $2.00 total for a run, if I take the advance. $1.00 without it.
Not on Comdata. We really liked that feature on EFS. We still use the EFS app then after we route all their stations we compare and verify that Comdata is good in those areas
As always great video! Seem to recall you mentioning in a previous video not to use either your ComData or Rewards when in the store... probably Rewards, so you aren't wasting the points on coffee for example?
Not sure what video that was? I know bunny doesn't like me using the points because she wants to collect the points to use for gifts along the way. we may have said not to use the comdata because we were unaware of how the fees were, now that we know your only charged fees at the diesel islands and for transferring money to your bank account you can use the card as a credit card with no additional fees.
Hey Guys! Love your videos. My wife and I are considering the rv transport industry, and I have aquestion about load volume coming towards Missouri, Kansas, and Oklahoma. Does Horizon or Indiana offer the most volume coming this way? 😉
To be honest we don’t know on horizon that would be a great question for them or a driver for them. As for Indiana we do see loads going to those locations but they typically pay less because those are the areas everyone wants to go, we typically go east ourselves as those pay higher
Since fuel prices have increased so much in the past year or so, do you get a fuel surcharge, or do the loads pay more, or do you guys have to pay the extra cost?
They did increase but not really enough to cover our additional expenses. We are starting to see a lot of drivers sitting out or deleasing or being deleased right now if that tells you anything
That's about what I expected. Put as much on the driver as we can until they start leaving, then wonder why we can't get drivers. Thanks for answering that for me.
I have a 69gal aluminum RDS and I didn't choose it because of the dimensions or capacity or brand name, I bought it because it was like $200 on craigslist Lol
I agree with you. I would be asking for a supervisor but sadly even if one does show up, if they are a local NYC native they will be yelling too. You have to understand its a culture thing there. They all like to sound tough n mean for some reason
If there was no fuel surcharge right now every trucking company in the United States would go out of business the stores would be bare you gotta find out if you’re getting 100% of the fuel surcharge it would not surprise me if you’re not I live in Milford Indiana I grew up in Elkhart my daughter works in the office at one of the major RV companies the truck drivers get paid less than anybody in the RV industry The reason I started listening to this channel because of the RV sitting all over Northern Indiana it’s never been that way and it’s because those trucking companies treat their drivers like crap
have a question about Indiana Transport online application...the application wants to see only cdl applicants with driving experience...how can I start as a newbie?
Hello you guys my name is Mike you met a friend of mine yeah Jamaica her name is Shelly. I also haul RVs and one day we should meet up and talk about all the fun on the road. I will have her text you guys my number And you can give me a call. Thanks
Nice to see Bunny there to keep you inline

You can do it! :)
Thank you for your information
I've watched many folks doing RV transport videos. You guys are by far #1. Great info presented intelligently. Thanks!
Thank you. We love doing them and have a great time doing them.

Thanks for the video

So far we have not had an issue with that in two years but that is good information

As long as your auxiliary tank under 119 gallons, do you need a Hazmat endorsement?
We are not sure of 119 but they sell 118 gallon tanks to transporters so you are thinking correct
Are y’all doing non-cdl?
I am probably going to join Indiana transport
We are both non cdl

We did a video on the 26k plate but being your cdl you may need a different plate?

How long after orientation do you get your card? Your first dispatch after orientation are you using your own means to fuel?
You get your card at orientation
Thanks!
I have a 69gal aluminum RDS and I didn't choose it because of the dimensions or capacity or brand name, I bought it because it was like $200 on craigslist Lol
That’s a great deal. And hence why people should talk to others to get their take. That’s a $900 or more savings
Is this just a deisel discount or is it also good for unleaded fuel
The companies only offer diesel discounts we don’t know of any that offer gas discounts or any more then you can get on your own
Hi, Can you use the Fleet Advance & Comdata Card when deadheading back or going home?
When you are deadheading you are still dispatched until you return to your original dispatched location.
I work for 2 companies. 1 has efs. 1 has com data. I just keep $ on each and use whichever one gets the better discount. 🤣
I agree with you. I would be asking for a supervisor but sadly even if one does show up, if they are a local NYC native they will be yelling too. You have to understand its a culture thing there. They all like to sound tough n mean for some reason
Does your company give you the fuel surcharge they have to operate on a fuel surcharge
We get a cost per mile and a fuel surcharge, but with rising fuel cost the surcharge isn’t keeping up. It’s a struggle that’s for sure
Yes
If there was no fuel surcharge right now every trucking company in the United States would go out of business the stores would be bare you gotta find out if you’re getting 100% of the fuel surcharge it would not surprise me if you’re not I live in Milford Indiana I grew up in Elkhart my daughter works in the office at one of the major RV companies the truck drivers get paid less than anybody in the RV industry The reason I started listening to this channel because of the RV sitting all over Northern Indiana it’s never been that way and it’s because those trucking companies treat their drivers like crap
How do you add Indiana Transport to get the 3 points per gallon automatically? I am currently listed as a professional driver.
We added their DOT number. If you don’t know go to the fuel desk and they will add it for you
@@TowAwayCouple thank you very much. Love yalls content. Thank y’all for taking the time to put this together.

I have a chevy 3500 set up to haul....but I don't have experience or a cdl
Call them directly and ask for a recruiter
Thank you
