Nice to see you deal with the Persian douche. This strat still terrorizes the low ranks and is so obnoxious to play against if you don't know what to do. GG!
I know it is not that easy, but he could have dropped that TC around the berries. More risky, but more powerful if denying the berries and woodline. (Yeah, one pallisade foundation could have ruined that, especially coming from someone like Viper.)
Thanks to your videos, I rarely lose to a douche, so I actually don't mind them anymore. It's actually kind of fun to match up against every once in a while to keep games fresh. The problem is that, unlike Mr. Yo here, most people who douche don't realize when the cause it lost and they haven't done enough damage to justify keep playing.
Marketing. If someone else posts it. Free advertising for viper (usually), whilst bringing his followers or AoE2 fans to Cast of Empires/channel that posted it. Win win
Because they posted it when they posted it and not before? Not really sure what any other channel posting schedule has to do with this one. Some of the games posted are months old by the time they decide to post them here.
Usually Viper has a long list of games that he plays, but he doesn't post them all together, but only a few a day, so most likely he still had other older games to catch up with.
Genuine question: why do you ever repair your starting TC once you're up to feudal? It's going to go down anyway, you're just spending huge amounts of wood to maintain villager production in the short term which is surely not worth it?
Vill production is only 1 reason (you still need to have enough vills to be on multiple resources, enough on wood to repair the buildings protecting woodline making houses and so on) and also one of the other big reasons is he needed it to be alive a bit longer to continue dropping off food so he could start getting archers out to help defend while he got res to make another tc in a safer spot
@@Draehir thanks for your explanation. Tbh I'm still not convinced. Repairing the TC with 2 vils constantly to maintain vil production means each vil basically costs over 100 wood in addition to 50 food. Think about how long that takes to pay back, in a situation where the game is likely to end very soon. And if your TC is idle because you're housed (like theviper was here), you're just spending wood for nothing. I thought about the TC being kept up as a dropoff point for the sheep but this doesn't make sense either. You are spending so much wood to drop off a miniscule amount of food, you are better off just going off to build a mill and some farms. Not only that, he wasn't even really collecting from the sheep because those vils were busy repairing the TC.
@@Tobotimus It's probably not worth the resource cost per villager but as Draehir mentioned its not all about value per villager sometimes you just need the tc to stay alive a little bit longer to stabilise yourself for longer.
It's mainly for the timing IMO, he can't go for the 2nd douch until the first one is finished so it gives more time to wall lumber, get gold going, archery range up and archers out before having to fight off the 2nd douch.
@@BrentTJo yes, this. it's crucial you have a woodline protected and getting archers out is a big deal because if you can't then he will douche repeatedly. He had a safe woodline at his own base so the longer he can stall you getting resources the more likely the douche will be successful

Yo didn’t even want to win he just wanted to kill the FC arambai dream.
At least you didn't lose, like when the Lord douched you.
