    Orange had the coziest little fishing village in the forest. So peaceful and safe. Probably didn’t even know a war was going on till the purple refugee showed up to rebuild his town near the forest path

      Orange ended the game with 117 conversions. They definitely knew SOMETHING was going on!

    It's kind of amazing how long the other team could keep things competitive without (much) trade. But you can only survive with trash for so long, when the other team has the combination of efficient fish boom and high-flying trade. It was kind of interesting to see how difficult pure Byzantine halb spam can still be to deal with at times though.

      Well yes, when you stop making your counter to halberdiers! (Champion.)
      And on the other side, even though orange was consistently highest score (so he must have been killing stuff), we saw a lot of elephant archers vs a lot of bombard towers and Hussite wagons. We didn't see orange making rams (the counter to bombard towers) while Hussite wagons take 1 damage from elephant archers. That explains why orange kept getting pushed back even after Viper killed so much eco.

      @@alexbrennan9928 Just send in one ram and once the bombard towers are firing on it, go in for the houfnice. Even garrison the ram for that 40% speed boost if you need to dodge houfnice shots. At one point when Viper looked over we saw maybe a score of elephant archer corpses around a castle and bombard towers. Just imagine if there was a single battering ram there tanking enough bombard tower shots to kill 60 elephants.
      I don't think it was a coincidence that once purple started making rams, that side was able to push back.

      @@alexbrennan9928 Well, in the worst case, they're just shooting the ram instead of your elephant archers, right? Can you really look at 24:20 (and 22:29, 24:59, 26:31) and say there would be the same number of dead elephants if a ram or two had been added?
      With no rams it's very costly to push into the towers, which is why orange kept getting pushed back. The houfnice can always just back up, and you have to retreat. With even a single ram, you can continue chasing. (You can also user a runner on short patrol, or better yet waypoint patrol to avoid houfnice shots as well, but no one does that.) We literally see nothing from orange to push the towers, so gray can just keep building more and more of them.

    Flemish actually would have been amazing here as a unit, even though they would have required TCs to build (old Flemish). Even though Byzantines are spamming cheap halberdiers, TheViper keeps making halberdiers instead of champions in case Frankish paladins suddenly arrive, but Flemish Militia are just as good against paladins and a lot better against halberdiers, taking 10 seconds to kill one compared to Burgundian halberdier taking 27 seconds to kill Byzantine halberdier. Combining the best qualities of the halberdier and champion.

    Havent seen the game yet but i see u have byzantines on the enemy and i have seen u ban byzantines all the time. Can u just briefly say why u find them so difficult to deal with? I know its quite repetitive to answer but plz one more time.

    For the wall question, why not stone walls in castle age instead of feudal, it would make sense in some respects but not necessarily in game balance. If they were removed from feudal age they would need to be replaced with some kind of palisade tech. But then the question is what feudal age building would it belong in. Only places that jump out as reasonable are TC or market. If in market then strong walls requires not playing towards military. If in TC then it requires sacrificing economy. Another option is an eco building, but that feels wrong.
    To some degree i would like this thematic change, but game balance wise not sure how much it would change things. game seems in a good balance atm. its not needed.

      maybe instant research on age up? idk though as stonewalls in feudal aint like bad or anything

      @@catrielmarignaclionti4518 that would probably be the solution which is what is already done for stonewalls between feudal and castle. but at that point making the change seems useless.
      and not saying it is bad. just responding to the idea of the chatter in the video.

      Late comment but I wonder if Town Watch and Patrol increasing the health of palisade walls would be slightly better. Although that would complicate the tech overall... Maybe it gives only palisade walls an extra armour?

    I don't get how players plan their games in tournaments. For example, theviper played very bad with goths against freakinandy but played very good the other 3, and andy played very bad with khmer during the last game as if he was drunk. Is it somehow intentional or players get very tired so they choose a game to lose?

      Civ draft for MoA has lots of random admin bans in the beginning and then players select from the remaining ones. This way players get civ for which they didn't prepare for and resulting in some poor performance
