@@NaSpiorad I think they were designed to serve as support for the advancing tanks, but, due to the inability for bots to see something more then the distance of 1 meter, they just dont shoot
This ending is so hard to get, cause at least in the newer versions, even if NATO or another friendly tank that you literally have 0 control over runs over a civilian... War criminal ending.
Yep - I even tried just cheesing the mission with console commands and Zeus, managed to complete all objectives without firing a single shot or moving a single meter (to not run over a precious civilian bush), and still got the war crime ending.

Press ` to open the command menu. You can also press 0 for supports and stuff, and any other number for stuff.
