My man, if you want to catch Shoal bass get yourself down to the Flint river, in Upson Co, and hook up with Allen Ragsdale. Allen is the Shoalie king in Mid-GA!!
AYO, cool seeing you commenting on one of my favorite fishing channels. You know besides yours and LOJO'S. BUT, tell me what exactly is a shoal bass. They just look like smallmouth to me. What is the difference. I know you catch them quite a bit.
My brother in law and I fish the Upper Flint River and catch some nice size Shoulies. We even have a couple that has been mounted. We kayak down to the shoals, get out and wade and fish. Love the videos and the verses at the end. Keep them coming. God bless. Job 12:8 Speak to the Earth and it will teach you.
John because of watching you creek fishing and expanding to other venues I got excited to fish again. Out of it for 30 years caught my first bass 3 lbs few weeks ago 19 inches. Would have fished more but I have a bad back but I will fish again thanks John and the scriptures are great.
I like that you care a lot for local fish populations. Diversity is really important and fisherman should always care for it and support the authorities with some social workhours. Big thumbs up for showing us some new species!
I used to love the Chattahoochee river fishing.....caught a lot of chattahoochee bass just above Lake Lanier on the river and in some creeks that way..... I sure miss those days, thanks for the reminder John God Bless and GO KATS!!!!!
I believed you have the most raw talent on TH-cam. Your instincts are outstanding. No pretense, regular Christian guy being blessed by our Lord. Do not loose focus John very nice to see.
John just want to say ty for providing such awesome entertainment to say the least. You are such a nice and humble individual it's just a pleasure, keep pumping the videos out buddy and we're going to keep watching.
I live in Middle Georgia on the flint river (shoalbass heaven). Those spotted bass are an invasive species in the shoalbass’s habitat. At least where I’m at. But still fun to catch . Love video
I’ve fished the conasauga in the dalton/chatsworth area all my life. Grew up around it, still enjoy fishing it when I get the chance. Just a great area to catch multiple species of fish.
Awesome Job, got my first shoal bass 11? years ago in the flint. Had 3 or 4 trips planned there and every time it has flooded me out. the upper hooch stretch you were on is on my bucket list as I have a friend and he luvs that stretch.
I really enjoy your videos and look for them every day. I fish a lot of the same areas as you do. You've even helped me find a couple new ones in TN. Keep up the good work!
Amost like "Uncle Toad's Wild Ride" !!! Too much current, not enough casts. My first time seeing a Shoal bass. Aaron got a nice bass there. I am liking the musical intros for your vids ! As always, great video. Always entertaining !!! RKB
Great video John those bass are unique never heard of them really I guess they're only in that area right You're getting real good at handling that kayak like a pro Talk to a guy from Texas today fishing in my territory for small amount great guy says he watches your channel all the time sorry didn't catch his name He's a nice guy He's thinking about starting a channel up to similar to yours haven't gotten out much lately been sick just nice to talk to somebody about fishing and as always nice to watch your videos thanks John God bless you and keep you
You need to get you a tether for your phone! Rouge fishing makes a good one, or Nite Ize makes one too! It could easily fall out of your pocket, I've almost had it happen.
Hard. Like a smallmouth. They only live in rivers and creeks and spend almost all their time around rocky shoals with fast current, so they get strong for their size.
Several comments about anchors, and stake poles. Those power poles are extremely expensive, but you are losing casts and fighting too hard by not being able to anchor or stake yourself out so you can fish the good looking spots.
Kill all the spots in shoal bass water. They’re going to extirpate Georgia of chattahoochee bass and shoal bass before too long. Cool that you got both pure species in the same float. Both fish are in dire shape because of Alabama bass introduction and human development. Catch them while you can and promote conservation for them please.
Fishing’s fun, praise the Lord.
My man, if you want to catch Shoal bass get yourself down to the Flint river, in Upson Co, and hook up with Allen Ragsdale. Allen is the Shoalie king in Mid-GA!!
I catch some giants a little further south if you ever wanna collab man! Shoalies are awesome man!
That would be an awesome collaboration with badge..my favorite TH-cam fishing channel. 🎣 👍
Ayo what’s up

Shoal bass are awesome!
Oh awesome man. I thought you fished that river sometimes. I’d love to fish it some more
My brother in law and I fish the Upper Flint River and catch some nice size Shoulies. We even have a couple that has been mounted. We kayak down to the shoals, get out and wade and fish. Love the videos and the verses at the end. Keep them coming. God bless.

AMEN! pretty view. “Way down yonder on the Chattahootchi!”
It gets hotter than the hootchee gootchee....
Lots of current flowing!!! Wooooooo weeeeeeeeeee!!
All those lay downs and obstacles remind me of my river. I'm glad some one finaly showed real river kayak fishing.
I used to love the Chattahoochee river fishing.....caught a lot of chattahoochee bass just above Lake Lanier on the river and in some creeks that way..... I sure miss those days, thanks for the reminder John God Bless and GO KATS!!!!!

You need to make yourself a drag anchor to slow down your float!
Kayak Fishing is great fun!
Y’all need some chain drag anchors.
Nice day fishing. That is a fast moving river.
never seen picnic tables in the water but that is convenient
Fishing the Chattanasty. Just be sure to stay above Atlanta. I’m off West Point Lake... we don’t drink until Atlanta flushes.
Those picnic tables in the river were perfect! Looks like a beautiful place to fish and explore. Thanks for taking us along
Sure do look like the spots we catch above Lula Park in the upper end of Lake Lanier.
That's a nice scenic river to float and do some fishing. Picnic tables made for floaters.
use your paddle as a brace to push trees out of the way.
Thanks brah! Your show gets my mind and heart ready for bed. Peace be with you
John just want to say ty for providing such awesome entertainment to say the least. You are such a nice and humble individual it's just a pleasure, keep pumping the videos out buddy and we're going to keep watching.
Lovely little river cruise and fish catch.
Man, you had to WORK for those fish in that first river!! Rapids tested your skills and you nailed it! Great vid!
Nice work guys! Cool looking area. Man down...Man down...somebody help Aaron!! I have never caught a Shoal Bass before, or a Spotted bass.
It won’t be many years until shoal Bass are extirpated from Georgia as well.
I live in Middle Georgia on the flint river (shoalbass heaven). Those spotted bass are an invasive species in the shoalbass’s habitat. At least where I’m at. But still fun to catch . Love video
I sure did enjoy this video John🐟🎣🐟🎣
So John Dalton got his first Shoal bass. About time there dude! Congratulations.
I would recommend using an anchor trolley with a stake out pole on your kayak.
Aaron's Shoal bass was a beast!!
Thanks!
Man, that was like fishing paradise!!
You need a drag chain to slow you down in the calm sections
Awsome. 2 hours south and you could be on the best shoal bass river in the world, the mighty flint.
Shoal bass looks sorta like a small mouth (brown) bass. The vertical markings are similar.
Wow, coming up on 100,000 Subs. NICE> Enjoyable video. thanks for sharing and thanks for the link to aarons channel.
Its beautiful there. Got family in Couhun
Good one i need to venture out to a new spot
Great trip !
Looks like 2 fun trips. It’s been a long time since I caught a shoalie. I used to fish for them often when I lived in Middle Ga. beautiful fish!
I got my Georgia slam last year. Very fun chasing them all down.
I’ve fished the conasauga in the dalton/chatsworth area all my life. Grew up around it, still enjoy fishing it when I get the chance. Just a great area to catch multiple species of fish.

I love watching your videos thank you for sharing John God bless you 🙏
Those Shoal bass were awesome looking 👌
Love the scenery. Nice vid. Lotza action.
I live in north GA. Shoal bass are some fighters. My PB is 4 lbs 5 oz. Caught on a jig below Morgan Falls dam.
Have you ever tried a drift sock to try slowing down on the river
I really enjoy your videos and look for them every day. I fish a lot of the same areas as you do. You've even helped me find a couple new ones in TN. Keep up the good work!
shoal bass is the one i havn't caught yet. nice catch guys
Amost like "Uncle Toad's Wild Ride" !!! Too much current, not enough casts. My first time seeing a Shoal bass. Aaron got a nice bass there. I am liking the musical intros for your vids ! As always, great video. Always entertaining !!! RKB
Have you ever fished Look out Creek in Chattanooga? Near Look out Mountain. It runs into the TN River.
That’s an amazing day of fishin! Have a good day y’all!
I catch some gooood shoal bass on the lower hooch! Looks like a great day tho!
BOOM. Congrats on the shoal
Great video John those bass are unique never heard of them really I guess they're only in that area right You're getting real good at handling that kayak like a pro
Talk to a guy from Texas today fishing in my territory for small amount great guy says he watches your channel all the time sorry didn't catch his name He's a nice guy He's thinking about starting a channel up to similar to yours haven't gotten out much lately been sick just nice to talk to somebody about fishing and as always nice to watch your videos thanks John God bless you and keep you
This is gonna be awesome!! Shoalies are beasts!
As always, great vid !
Such a good vid. Showed challenges of kayaking and fishing at same time. Of all guys I watch on TH-cam, your vids show most improvement. 👍
you should have come to ICAST man!!! Will you be going next year?
I'm fishing the hooch Sunday morning where did yall put in and take out?
Where did y’all lauch the boat from
You need to get you a tether for your phone! Rouge fishing makes a good one, or Nite Ize makes one too! It could easily fall out of your pocket, I've almost had it happen.
Just up the road from me. Still haven't caught one of those. Great video.
Have u ever tried the deisel baits hellermites
As always fun stuff!
Dalton! My home town!
I've been looking into getting a picsifun reel and idk if I should get the flame 4000 or spend the extra little bit and get the viper?
When you are videoing? Are you using onboard microphone on the cameras, or external mics?
If you’re gonna fish those rivers with current, you need an anchor.
can u explain? i fish rivers like these and dont have an anchor. i see where a power pole would work. but think regular anchor is a pain
You can drag a chain. He definitely blew past all the good fishing holes 😂!!
I love catching shoals they fight so hard. And love the vids keep up the amazing work 👍
My buddy caught a 5 lb shoal , he was holding it in the creek while I went to get truck and cooler , it got away from him , 😅
wow, thats a giant
Where did you put in at
They need to develop a cover that goes over the drive slot when you aren't using the pedal drive.
He has one, but forgot it.
Where did y'all put in?
Keep up the good work
The Shoal bass look just like Smallmouth
Great video/
that first Chattahoochee Bass only has to be 8 inches to count for the Georgia Bass Slam. It looks that big to me.
Hey what highway is that off of?
Cool video!
Great video!
Do you eat fish? I don’t like fish to eat but love fishing.
how do you get back to your car?
We definitely wanna bring shoal bass to our channel!🔥
Kayaking is always an adventure 😅
U need an anchor
How do shoal bass fight like
Hard. Like a smallmouth. They only live in rivers and creeks and spend almost all their time around rocky shoals with fast current, so they get strong for their size.
@@SchwarzenWinter that’s pretty hard fight
Some monster stripers in that area, too. Trust me.
Tallapoosa?? 😂😂😂😂
Current was almost too fast to fish..
The current was really fast in some places, but there were definitely slower sections where we could cast more
Several comments about anchors, and stake poles. Those power poles are extremely expensive, but you are losing casts and fighting too hard by not being able to anchor or stake yourself out so you can fish the good looking spots.
Alan Jackson approves this video
Shoal bass>smallies change my mind...
I agree!
They turn blue out of the water like a bluegill
Agreed! Particularly the big boys that live down in the Flint.
Show the difference in the kinds of bass why are these two species different??????
...A lot about fishing and a little bout chuuuubs.
Pedals
Who is going to paddle you back up to the vehicle parked on the ROAD.
