Amazing. You guys actually travelled all the way to Korea just to review this vehicle. Appreciate your dedication. Can't wait for EVs coming to Vancouver.
Thank you for the review. This car will definitely sell well here in the States and Canada. Kia changed their games from a cheap reputation to a high-quality, precision brand. I always wanted to visit Korea, I envy you guys!!

@samarianosans base price will be $30k. Also, this will be qualified for a tax credit since this will be built in the U.S. new Georgia plant. I can see cheap lease deals as well. As I state this again, I appreciate the class-leading technology in affordable cars. The new K4 sedan has tons of standard features and costs less than Honda and Toyota. At least give it that credit where it's due.
@@jraheemjefcoat429 I love Kia as a brand. dealers on the other hand... I bought a Kia Soul this year and MSRP was $23k turns into a $29k mid range car with a lot of tech but lack of other things. also the Tax credit is not warranted because if the orange guy wins we may not see that incentive again.
So cool! I Wasn’t expecting to see a video on this so soon! I drive an EV6 and love that Kia is bringing new EVs to North America. Hopefully the EV5 is next!
Like another commenter, this caught me by complete surprise. Excellent and thank you for going to Korea for us! I so enjoy you two and love your questions coffee and cars spin off. Thanks for all of your dedication and I hope you enjoyed your trip away, or are still enjoying! 🎉🎉🎉
This is the more affordable hatchback EV that Canadians are looking for. We will see how expensive it ends up being. Other than the over the top exterior styling Kia loves, i have to say, I like it! Great video from Korea and i hope you drank some Soju, ate some Kalbi and learned a few Tae Kwon Do moves while you were there!
Looks like the kind of thing we would love. Small but not too small, comfortable, well appointed and snappy styling. Will definitely have a close look when it arrives in N. America. Thanks for the effort in doing this!
The Kia EV3 base price has been announced in Belgium at 41,190 Euros. The current Kona EV base price in Belgium is 43,499 Euros. So we can expect the EV3 will be 2-3 grands cheaper than the Kona EV base price in Canada
That’s awesome that you guys got to travel to Seoul to test drive the EV3 well before it goes on sale in North America. I hope you were able to take in some of the sights of that beautiful city.
2 things! Nice and unusual features. It’s looks like a Mini and unusual feature is the tray which is nice if you are hungry. I am an amazed you drove on their highway and the sign are in Korean language. Awesome show Andrea! Cheers! ☕️☕️
KIA EVs blowing up in parking lots in south korea. they dont want no EVs anymore. every korean bought EV trying to sell thire Ev, crashing resale market.
In South Korea, government subsidies are as follows: approximately CAD 5,200 for the Standard 2WD model and CAD 5,650 for the Long Range 2WD (17-inch and 19-inch wheels). In Seoul, with additional local government subsidies, the support increases to about CAD 6,400 for the Standard model and CAD 6,950 for the Long Range model.
Kia EV3 is incredible! Modern design, good performance and lots of driver-friendly devices. It has high quality Korean battery as well. It's phenomenal!!
Korea gets all of their cars a year before we do in the u.s. I first saw my 23 Kia Sportage hybrid in 2022 in Korea and the dealerships knew nothing about it. the 23 model came to the u.s and I bought it
Great vid. The only drawback (possibly deal breaker for me) is the 'ironing board' in the front that is supposed to be used for resting a laptop on so you can work when the car is charging!!! With a range of approx. 340 miles then on most normal journeys you will not need to charge. Perhaps it is for a parent wanting to do some work while waiting to pick the kids up at school? - lol. It needed a storage compartment with a lid rather than the open storage below the 'ironing board'.
They can “spare” us the “no spare tire to protect your range” when they offer 19” and 20” rims that cut way more miles of range than the the few hundred meters or less of range the weight of a temporary spare tire would affect. It’s clearly cost cutting to not have a spare tire or not even have a dedicated space to put an optional spare tire. Modern cars do not magically not ever get flat tires and roadside assistance can’t save you if they don’t have access to a replacement tire at time you need one.
But FWD is more efficient, and as somebody who grew up in Minnesota, I can tell you most people only "need" AWD about 3 days a year, and probably not even that as everybody drives slow in a bad snow day, so the AWD is an unnecessary expense.
Great review! I’ve owned a 23 Sportage SXP since June of 2022 and it’s been a great car. I like the EV9 but I don’t need something that big so I think this will be my next car and I’ll probably wait for the GT trim.
2:40 I've had my EV6 for over a year and driven just over 45,000km with it and still haven't missed having a rear wiper. The rake of the window is shallow enough to avoid low pressure eddies and the rear lightbar spoiler blocks all of the road grime/dust from hitting the back window. It is much more of a problem on the Hyundai Ioniq 5 than on the EV6
Was gonna comment on this too. Had my EV6 GT since earlier this year. No issues whatsoever with rear visibility. This was a deal breaker on the Ioniq 5. I'm glad that is being fixed later this year though in the US.
Wow, the EV3 looks like a very nice EV! I was hoping the price to be like around $30K USD instead of $40K. We will be getting our 2024 Prius LE next month for the sticker price of around $29K, and if we could have the EV3 available for $30K then we may change our mind, but we are content with the Prius.
Really like this vehicle. Will be a hot seller if they can keep the price down to something reasonable. Still on the fence about a full electric vehicle in Alberta.
Having owned 2 Hyundai EVs (2020 Kona & 2022 Ioniq 5) I can literally tell you to lease, if interested, don't buy. You'll lose soooo much when it comes tine to trade in. There there's the lack of NACS charging integration and the crappy CCS here in Canada. Make an informed decision.
After losing our Ioniq5, we fell in love with the EV9 it was just too big, so we bought another I5. Vivian better get building those R3s because this is brilliant. I know what's on my list next.
Liking the look of it. 370 miles is solid. Liking the price. And it comes with a heat pump. I am guessing that with such a long lead time for North America it will probably slow for some bugs to be worked out before we see it.
2:50 Kia better not remove those lovely amber rear turn signals from USDM vehicles like they nonsensically did on the EV6 and EV9. We are not second class customers and we deserve safe, effective and unambiguous tailllights like the rest of the world.
U.K. EV3 base model is £32,995 list price Kia E-Niro base model is £37,325 list price. I doubt if they will be selling many Niros at that price. The Heat Pump is only available as an extra on the top of the range. It will be interesting to see if they include the Heat Pump on all models in North America. What is forgotten is the 7 year warranty offered by the Hyundai Group, that is worth a lot. 😊
another homerun from KIA! perfect size for around town. I would lease it for sure! Andrea is looking younger...zach looks like zach. COLOR matching outfits...she must have 5 carry ons! Ev2 and Ev1 coming?

The awd subcompact SUV is what I've been waiting for. Jeep dropped the ball big time with avenger. This is what I've been waiting for. And that mileage? Perfect. Drive a few hours, rest a few minutes drive a few hours. Fold flat rear seats? That lean back too? Ffffffugetaboutit. This. All this. Montrealer here and this is exactly what I'm waiting on. I'd put the smallest wheels on it and some offroaders on for kicks and she'd look bad as hell.
I sure hope when the EV3 comes here to Canada it will be affordable. love the size and features and cupholders for Starbucks coffee. enjoy South Korea.
Great we can get great tech from Korea without 100% tariffs that we are getting from some of those really good Chinese cars! Keep it up Kia / Hyundai group!
Wow, I thought Canada had finally released the EV3, but it's actually in Korea. Anyway, have a great time there. PS. Try a lot of Korean food. If you like seafood, be sure to visit Busan and try some there.
Affordable? No vehicle is affordable these days. The base Niro starts at $48,500 which is not affordable for me, which is part of the reason why I use public transit.
That's the base Niro EV. The base HEV is a lot cheaper. But you're right cars are very expensive. They make a cheaper version for developing countries, we don't have that option.
The “affordable EV for the masses” at probably 55K cad. Eek. Seems nuts that manufacturers have been saying this for 5 or 6 years easily and no one’s come close. This does look great though, but a $1000 a month car payment isn’t affordable for most people.
Haha, I was just in Seoul a couple of days ago and saw the EV3. We were probably there at the same time. Yes it was hot/humid but it was nothing compared to what Japan was like just a week prior. Cool cars in Seoul, but Japan impressed me more. In Bali now and no cool cars to speak of.
Great video. Did you see the Kia EV5 there? Supposedly, they plan to export that car to North America (mostly to Canada) but they are not sure about the U.S. Maybe because of the Kia Sorento or Telluride models???
Looks nice, I would like to know behind the scenes of why it would take a year and a hale to release this vehicle. What are the processes Kia needs to complete for this?
I'm not the biggest fan of EVs but this one could be budget friendly. I'll have to wait and see the pricing in the US, but I just might be interested in leasing this one.
This looks like a very viable option. I tend to keep cars a long time and so not quite ready for the next car. However, my next car will definitely be an EV. I have been looking mostly at the Tesla’s but have been keeping an eye on Kia and Hyundai. They have really come along on range, price, tech, and looks.
Great reviews as usual guys. Love the lounge feature. Very well appointed. Still seeing it priced at just over 40 thousand euros in Europe for a front wheel drive version, in Canada as an all wheel drive model, you can predict it to be 65 thousand dollars at best and probably 75 thousand dollars for a fully loaded all wheel drive long distance version. I am sorry that is way too much money for a subcompact Kia. I mean if you buy a 40 thousand dollar gas Forrester with very close in features plus fantastic all wheel drive, and the ability to be safe in rugged road conditions futons without any range anxiety. Or a hybrid Honda Crv. In the end if you save 30 thousand dollars up front, how much can gas cost before you make up for that money difference? Evs like this are promising. It just isn’t commerce mass production ready to be affordable. But I love your review. Very fair.
Going to be tough to determine much until we know how much it costs. That said, first impressions can decent. I don't like the fancy door handles or obsessions with large tires, but that's more of a critique of the industry as a whole as many are doing that. I do like the "normal" power output, which likely helps achieve increased range (which I think is likely more appealing to customers than 500 hp). Looks can be subjective, but it's likely fine, especially the interior. It's going to come down to price. If this is going to be $65,000, I'd hardly call it a "vehicle for the masses", even if Kia's marketing department says so.
This is the perfect size for our house as a second car. What’s the chance we actually get the small battery in Canada? Some of us are literally only driving around town and would like a small cheap ev.

As a wheelchair user I'd love to see an electric Kia Mini-Van. I really need a van for my wheelchair.
If it's that long of a wait then NACS port should be on it.
Looks like a nice car. I could wait for the large Battery and AWD.
Great video. Did you see the Kia EV5 there? Supposedly, they plan to export that car to North America (mostly to Canada) but they are not sure about the U.S. Maybe because of the Kia Sorento or Telluride models???
EV5 is not on sale in Korea yet. Hopefully soon!
Looks nice, I would like to know behind the scenes of why it would take a year and a hale to release this vehicle. What are the processes Kia needs to complete for this?
how does it compare with the Chev Bolt EUV that you liked previously?
Ps the zeekr 7x is a cracking looking ev 😊
In Belgium its 41,190 Euro/$62331 CAD, with 21% VAT.
In Hungary the base model is 36000 Euro/$54500 CAD, with 27% VAT
370 miles is very interesting
Sucks that you guys don't get this car for a whole year. I'm hoping to take delivery of mine around October/November this year.
UK prices start at 32k, which is around the $35k for US buyers.
This is the perfect size for our house as a second car. What’s the chance we actually get the small battery in Canada? Some of us are literally only driving around town and would like a small cheap ev.
