Thanks for taking into consideration my old namco x capcom translation. It was a tremendous work back in the day. It makes me really happy that is still being played after 15 years of the patch release. Thank you.
I didn’t expect to hear Jackscepticeye in this video, it was nice to hear him talk about a game he loves so much in a different style than his usual videos.
Man the PS2 was insane back in the days. I made friendships in my neighborhood that lasted to this day with kids I had never seen before just because we caught wind that we both had a PS2 and loved Budokai Tenkaichi 3. The tournaments with constant sweaty hands and adrenalin were mental
I'm pretty sure this is how I got introduced to Kingom Hearts. Still my favorite game series of all time. I miss watching my friend play and switching between boss fights. We beat it and I think I cried at the ending cutscene. lmao (I was like 10, give me a break)
Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 are timeless. Timeless narratives with gameplay that was surprisingly ahead of it's time, and visuals that hold up even 20 years later. Kojima's team was absolutely world-class.
I used to play Kingdom Hearts on my PS2 for hours and made friends because of it! I usually put this in my background while working and it helps a lot because I can just stop and relax for a while before going back to work. Love these!
It's ridiculously impressive how you managed to create these multi-hour videos covering video game facts. It shows how much information you've managed to collect and share with us viewers. I can't wait to see what videos come next!
I am genuinely going down memory lane with these compilation videos. I remember being a pre-teen and watching all of these videos non-stop, learning everything I could about these games that I had not played yet, and now going into My 20s I have played most of them games on the list. Thanks for all the knowledge you guys granted to me over the years. It has helped my journey as a gamer in so many ways.
There's nothing like seeing these compilations and learning new things. I may not be sleeping but I am learning and enjoying it! The PS2 era is so nostalgic for me and the games I played helped to shape my gaming experiences as time passed.
26:31 The fact that the origin story of Sora in Smash was so similar to how Hashimoto stepped into that elevator is insane to me Masahiro Sakurai ran into a Disney representative by chance at the game awards and got the chance to inform them that Sora won the Smash 4 character poll, which led to a discussion. It really came full circle :'3
DYKG provides quality content that is well-cited and thoroughly researched. The narrator has a gently vibing voice capable of following for long periods. I would not know about many obscure titles were it not for DYKG. The editing is top notch. Here's to many more.
I always love it when voice actors reprise their roles for other media, even if it's so long after the original release. KH's Alice being voiced by the original Alice is just that nice attention to detail that I love :)
@@Apophis324 it makes it really cool. I agree. But the way Disney is towards some of their vocal stars, just makes me feel kind of unsure whether it was a decision she wanted or was forced into because of rights and such.
@@CastroMKE Hmm. Yes if the latter was the case, that would make things more unfortunate.. Let's just hope she happily took up the mantle of Alice again for this silly crossover series! ^^
The PS2 was the first system I ever had, I had some really good memories with it especially with Sonic Mega Collection, I still love the classic Sonic games and the menu music was so cool.
man, watching/listening to this for 2 hours makes you realize how many great and awesome games were on the PS2 and how many of those i got to play during my prime-gaming-years (yes, your gaming time DOES decrease after starting a family...) a lot of these clips are therefore very nostalgic, plus you always learn something knew about them
The PS2 had such a large and great library. I was later to the party, but once I was in college and had money of my own, I spent a lot of time collecting the games I missed. So many great little known facts too
Thank y'all at the DYKG team for doing the work that you do! I was introduced to this channel during my time in college as a gamedev, and watching how the team covers old games, bringing up secrets and Did You Know facts, and going above and beyond is peak game journalism. Y'all are doing great work, and I hope to follow this channel along in this journey for many, many years to come
These videos are also honestly great for background listening while working through more tedious tasks at work. Thank you DYKG for keeping up on fun and informative content for this long! Kudos!
Man, I have been following DYKG since 2012 roughly, because every piece of trivia on my favorite hobby of all time that is gaming was everything to me. After a hiatus, I discovered that not only the main channel is still going, but found this long videos that I can watch while working (Not really to "Fall Asleep to" in my case haha). Thank you DYKG people, and I hope you are able to continue all these channels in the future for gaming preservation!
I appreciate the compilation videos! I usually use them when getting ready for work or doing housework since I can just carry the laptop to the next room and keep on listening. You guys do really great work and I hope you continue as long as you want to!
A big thanks to all the wonderful folks of DYKG. These videos are fantastic to listen to over and over and really do help me at night . Do you guys plan on adding more to your Spotify?
Love the content you guys make! Your channels are literally the only place where I can find obscure/interesting facts about the games I've sunk so many hours into without having to translate interviews in languages I don't understand lol. Hope you guys are able to provide us with these videos for years to come!
Prime content to fall asleep too. Now instead of TH-cam suggesting nothing but AVGN content to me (my previous fall asleep content), now all it suggests is video game trivia.
I remember visiting my friend one day and he turned on Shadow of Colossus. I totally missed this game at the time and I'm so glad he showed me the game. One of my favourite games to this date.
I'm so glad this channel has grown the way it has. Now that I live in the u.k. it's so nice to see representation from both america and the uk on this channel! Ive really enjoyed learning about gaming stuff over here and am grateful that y'all have taught me so much!!! Also, love the KH facts. One of my all time favs :)
I honestly love these videos. I put them on like podcasts and just vibe while I'm doing other things. This one being about the PS2 specifically is just extra sweet to me as that's my favorite console ever.

I've been watching you guys for years now, and I am so proud of the work you have begun doing as journalists and preservationists. You've done a lot to hunt down obscure facts, all while keeping up with fact videos on all our favorite series and consoles. Keep it up!
dykg is one of the earliest youtube channels i still watch to this day. mega props to the whole team for staying so consistently entertaining for over a decade. that shit isn't easy. thank you
So cool learning all about the cut content from the Kingdom Hearts series. I always thought those 2 huge unused final forms for Xemnas looked awesome!!
I know these are all labeled as videos to help you sleep, but they're the best for getting work done, like doing chores around the house or yardwork. If I cant game at the time, learning fun new facts about my favorite games is the next best thing. Thank you guys for everything you do for the gaming community.
Thanks for making these. The calm and soothing narration while not being very alarming is great while the facts are always interesting to actually find out.
The Ps2 holds a special place in my heart, it was my first video game console. Love so many series on it and still have a ps2 just to return to those greats. Love these long form mash ups of a broad topic and including facts across all of it. Keep up the great work DYKG! 🎉
I do love these compilation videos. I love background noise when cleaning or playing games, and these are great to leave on. And I get to learn some neat facts I’ve not heard before.
I love seeing these deep dives on how the games came together or almost turned out very different. Would be great to see you cover Planescape: Torment or Chrono Cross.
Appreciate all the PS2 facts, team. This was the main system I had growing up, but being behind a generation or two for years allowed me to catch up on a lot of amazing games, and find ones I never would have heard of otherwise.
I'm so happy about these "facts to sleep to" compilations 🙏 for PS2 specifically I really wish you guys could talk about Dark Cloud some more, as a launch title it was so interesting and I hear it had some cool development stories but it seems the game isnt popular enough that big channels have covered it
I remember years ago, back in the early "single post for a single fact" days, I messaged you guys about Totaka's Song. I figured you guys already knew about it, but thought it was a worth a shot. To my surprise, I actually got a genuine response that you'll look into it and then weeks later saw a post on my feed about the songs trivia! Your continued effort in growing the channel is inspiring, and I wish your team nothing but the best!
I’m so glad that these hour(s) long videos exist but I’ve never had time to really watch them, thanks to the update video I’ll happily try falling asleep to them!
Perfect timing as I was just settling in to play a fairly tedious part of a game and wanted something fun to have playing in the background! Great trivia compilation as always!
Im so happy finding this channel! Its my new sleep aid and im a huge fan of game facts and trivia!!! Its pretty cool hearing other youtubers in your videos too! Hearing seán in this one really caught me by surprise tho!!

Loved all the little details and mechanics that brought in a lot of immersion not yet seen in other games of this style.
Thank you for all these videos, I wasn't able to get into gaming until recently and thanks to your videos I been able to discover older games that I would have missed otherwise.

Very grateful for you guys doing these I tend to use them quite a lot to sleep. Unfortunately they affect my dreams though Mario looking for a lost PS2 game isn't bad. They're very good for background noise while working, keep them coming!
Aaah the PS2...what a crazy time that was for me. My roommate and I actually made some pretty decent money so we kind of went nuts during the 6th generation. I got my Dreamcast, PS2, Xbox, and GameCube at launch as did he. This video was like memory overload and I love it! Perhaps one of my biggest memories was both of us getting MGS2 the day it dropped. We hurriedly played through the MGS2 Demo from Zone of Enders because we were ready to continue the Snake's story. Unfortunately, we both realized almost at the same time what Hideo did and we were not pleased. I was so angry that I shattered the disc and swore off MGS for good. My roommate's reaction was just as bad as mine albeit he didn't swear off the series. Thankfully, he talked me into playing MGS3 and I absolutely loved it! Addendum- Why didn't you talk about the Halo/MGS connection? Apparently Hideo Kojima was so impressed with Halo, Halo 2, and Halo 3 that he had his people play them for MGS inspiration (no joke). I know this is later than the PS2 but he was really moved by the way the foliage reacts to the player at the beginning of Halo 3. He also stated that because of motion sickness he could not enjoy Halo even though he would like to. Good man.
I’ve fallen asleep to this about 3 times before I got through it for the first time. Honestly great facts to fall asleep to. Absorb all this knowledge.
I really wish I could see you guys live, but ever since my family and I moved we've been living paycheck to paycheck. When I watch these videos I make a big lunch and spend a good 2 hours watching these videos. Can't wait to see what new games you guys discover!
I loved playing ps2 with my brother when we were kids while my grandpa encouraged us to win even though he didn't understand what was happening on the screen. I finished shadow of colossus for the first time with him by my side. I miss those days.
