I've thankfully always held the belief that self-identity means little more than jack shit, but obviously when I was an emotionally and hormonally vulnerable 17-18 year old, I toyed around with the idea that I was transgender quite a bit. The cultural influence is just so strong, it's hard to describe. Needless to say, self-expression is something that should be celebrated, but denial and the weight that self-identity hold in the lgbt+ community is way more powerful than people give it credit for, and while it's a beautiful place for certain people to find a sense of love and belonging, it can definitely be a mental trap for those of us who are more on the fence or fluid about our sexual identities.

People wanting to “crack the egg” with peoples sexuality. Like I had a friend who is gay and before he came out I always had my suspicions but i never drilled him on it. I figured if he was and he wanted to tell me he would.
The long before he came out, everyone was always like “oh he’s definitely gay” or pretty much telling him that since he talks - certain way and cares about style/self-care that they totally could see him being gay. Like why not just acknowledge that this person cares about taking care of themselves, and looking good and leave it at that. Idk just seems like that’s super common now.

@@JesterAzazel I told my 12 yr old, I saw he was looking up what non-binary was, that I will accept him for whoever he chooses to love or how he perceives his body but I don’t want him to choose “oh I’m this” because he isn’t sure but feels pressure to just decide. I feel like at such a young age kids are still trying to figure out who they are and if you identify with a certain thing is may be very hard to say otherwise in the future if your feelings change and you may feel pressure to just pretend you are straight, gay/lesbian or something else. Not saying that’s what happens to you tho!

i know what he was trying to get at it i think and i reckon i actually agree or at least feel the same way. to me its just the main problem with morality in general its why im (probably?) ammoral. basically at the end of the day focusing on morality sucks for outcomes cos you allow for bad actors to have "good intentions" and be totally worthless or straight up catastrophic in their effect on other people. at least on a societal/organisational level we shouldnt pay any attention at all to whats motivating decisions just purely aim for outcomes. if i brainwashed every rapist into believing that if they raped someone theyd, say, go to hell and their dick would fall off thats probably worth it to me. like i think hes not really saying fuck it lets do way worse its more like fuck it lets throw away all of our "values" and shit cos i honestly think it probably gets more done. sometimes you gotta be ruthless and focused to deal with problems. its based, just super risky and obviously a lot of people take it in a really dark direction (maybe mrgirl is a good example and more generally people trying to remove stigma around pedophilia and shit like that).

Im a little upset destiny didn't answer the question about the implementation of capital punishment for drug dealers like in Singapore. He said don't punish people for drug addiction, and he said prosecute drug dealers to the full extent of the law... but neither of those are anwsers to the question.
I think he wouldn't be for it. He's said in the past he doesn't agree with capital punishment.
