The fact that I am just now getting this on my recommendation page is sad. I am very sorry that this happened to you. I would be WAY TOO SAD if my switch shut down. Couldn't imagine what I would do.
That can be fixed due to the biggest problem that the switch has when you use it in Mobile mode. Gamers tend to get deep into their game and start to bend the switch tablet. Which starts to pop ram and video chips off the board which have to be reset and soldered by a technician. It's not completely dead even when it gets the blue screen of death. The most common problem that would be with your issue a corner of the CPU most likely detached from the logic board of the switch. If you look around online there are technicians that can fix up for you most likely at a low cost as potentially parts do not have to be replaced for this issue.
Never bent my switch in handheld have had it 4 years still works fine and I mostly play in handheld who the hell bends their switch people need to have some self control or at least be aware of what they're doing you most likely put your money into it so treat it nicely and it will run nicely.
Pop soldered chips off the board from playing video games? I'm trying to consider how that would work, and what would cause that, because I've seen far more flimsy electronic devices have no issue with rougher handling than most gamers. I'm more likely to believe it was a weak / cold solder joint breaking before buying into people flexing the PCB that's inside the case enough to pop off ICs or other components. I've soldered and repaired, in every method imaginable, many thousands of components and electronic units while working for a large electronics corporation, and I cannot think of a way that this would realistically occur without the PCB already being toast (assuming multi-layered technology). So, I have to ask, is there any actual proof of this, or is this your assumption?

I hold and put my switch and joycons like they're made of porcelain
Thank you. Glad I'm not the only one who treats my day 1 switch as if even the wind could absolutely shatter it but I've always been like that with all my tech since I can even remember. I've NEVER had a device break on me NEVER. My family gives examples of me of how I care for my stuff.
As someone with a model 1 switch (that had 3 hours off dock battery btw) the joycons are surprising strong against dropping but the switch itself? It’s fine when I toss it on my bed and stuff but I rarely take it from the dock because 1 the battery life and 2 I cannot play it while charging on the cord…it won’t charge, just die slower.
i was thinking the same thing! I carry my switch around in a hard case because im afraid i'll drop it and break it! Try blowing in it to get it to work lol
Similar thing happened to my PS4 Pro. I wanted to play The Crew 2, the console crashed, turn it on again, and I'm stuck at the save mode. And if you ask, yes, I tried everything: re-install everything, choose every options in Save mode, nothing happened. Sadly, I even couldn't let that thing repaired. But I wasn't the only one, who had that. Friends and mates of racing games leagues told the same thing and surprise; it was at their PS4 PRO too
Probably an unpolished first run Switch model from the original 2017 release. Strange, considering the original Game Boy, the handheld made way back in 1989, can actually survive a freaking EXPLOSION...
This is why you handle your switch with care. Especially if you don’t ventilate the thing well enough. this 100% happened because of misuse, and not any sort of hacking. I still have my OG 2017 model switch, and it’s doing good still. Might need to get a new one since this happened. Can’t do anything else.
if i remember correctly sometimes when the solder joints go bad for the cpu/gpu (i think it's a single chip) it can flash green. you could use a heat gun but that would be temporary. the better way would be reflowing the entire chip but i don't think you could do that.
Good reflow (actually a reballing job) is only done with some pretty good pro equipment indeed. Some people do manage reflows with heat guns and such but as you said it's likely temporary. Those BGA rework stations that do that kind of job heat up from both sides.
I've heard that for malfunctioning computer motherboards or graphics cards, people would try baking them in their oven at a certain temperature and sometimes it would cause them to work again. Not saying to try this with your switch, also I don't think I would do that because it could make dangerous fumes right? I don't know.
@@zzoinks Done that, it's a sort-of "nothing to lose" approach when you're not gonna afford the proper reballing/no tools for that. It's a lazier version of the heat gun reflow, will definitely melt connectors not rated for reflow soldering, can destroy electrolytic capacitors, and may or may not solve the issue. In my case, it did indeed work for a week.
it's nice likely that the switch has actually born a fuse you're probably going to need to get it prepared which you can but it'll cost money depends if your switch is older than one year
Apparently some Switch consoles during the initial pre test launch of the console in late 2016 had this same issue but from when they were booted up for the first time so they were completely bricked from the factory due to manufacturing defects.
thats the CSOD (Color Screen Of Death) mate. this means that there's something really worng with your switch (corrupted bios, missing files, etc). basically, your nintendo swtich is bricked. (edited to add more infomation)

The almost exact thing happened to my ps4 yesterday, I wanted to play some games on it until it suddenly just gone out by random, and as I turned it back in it played the exact same sound and my TV screen remained black.

Friends and mates of racing games leagues told the same thing and surprise; it was at their PS4 PRO too
i have got the same issue on my original PS4, i recommend factory resetting, there are many tutorials out there too
I LOVE PLAYING THE CREW 1
The Nintendo switch has a heart stopped of humor...
Probably an unpolished first run Switch model from the original 2017 release.
Strange, considering the original Game Boy, the handheld made way back in 1989, can actually survive a freaking EXPLOSION...
The fact this is true is so hard to believe
Meanwhile my 2DS, from 2009, still alive and well today
This is why you handle your switch with care. Especially if you don’t ventilate the thing well enough.
this 100% happened because of misuse, and not any sort of hacking. I still have my OG 2017 model switch, and it’s doing good still.
Might need to get a new one since this happened. Can’t do anything else.
I got mine around the time the new model was new but I ended up getting one of the old models, you can tell because of the box.
I also have my OG switch from day 1 when it came out, still no problems. I got another switch though for hacking, and my OG switch is for online play
I think I got mine back in 2018, roughly when Smash Ultimate was coming out, or least a lil bit after it did
I wish i had a launch model! Only have a 2018 model

Is your Switch doing all right now?
@@ElephantMariotheRHDNhater3293Idk
He broke his switch before losing the stand for the switch, that's impressive
if i remember correctly sometimes when the solder joints go bad for the cpu/gpu (i think it's a single chip) it can flash green.
you could use a heat gun but that would be temporary.
the better way would be reflowing the entire chip but i don't think you could do that.
Good reflow (actually a reballing job) is only done with some pretty good pro equipment indeed.
Some people do manage reflows with heat guns and such but as you said it's likely temporary. Those BGA rework stations that do that kind of job heat up from both sides.
I'm pretty sure it is an APU inside of the Switch. I agree with your theory, but the heat gun would likely misplace other components?
@@zxfeared if you are not careful, yes it could do that.
Bro I'm so sad, hearing that sound of Nintendo switch 🤧
you mean 😭?
😭😭😭😭😭😭
genre of THE SABERTOOTH
it's nice likely that the switch has actually born a fuse you're probably going to need to get it prepared which you can but it'll cost money depends if your switch is older than one year
At times like this I sit back and remember the handle attached to my GameCube
"You were good, son. Real good. Maybe even the best.."
Apparently some Switch consoles during the initial pre test launch of the console in late 2016 had this same issue but from when they were booted up for the first time so they were completely bricked from the factory due to manufacturing defects.
Yeah like half of the consoles were bricked lol
i guess mine was bricked and still worked and i have it now and it sounds like a car engine when i run botw
@@lowskv
I guess it might of only bricked recently when an issue got worse over time!
thats the CSOD (Color Screen Of Death) mate.
this means that there's something really worng with your switch (corrupted bios, missing files, etc). basically, your nintendo swtich is bricked.
(edited to add more infomation)
CSOD: the lesser bsod
@@taiyaki_emu 'lesser?!'
i'm never going to get a BOSD if how COSD was described in this video is like that but way worse

@@taiyaki_emu Ah it's fine. :)
Probably not missing files, i think the system would have given at least some error message, bios? I am not sure as i do not know that much about its architecture but some corrupted files containing initilization code (2nd stage bootloader) would be more plausable. It defently cant be the 1st stage bl
We're here to say our last goodbyes to a Nintendo Switch..
It was beloved by its owner and lived a short happy life.
It died due to who knows and the heavens have been blessed by a new angel
Could be that it had heat exhaustion
Nintendo switch old crash break the hemmer 0:36 don’t worry your mom gotta buy new one Nintendo switch
Bro her mom spended money for that Nintendo switch and she gotta spend the same money by the old one it’s not free bro think about it
If she brought it with insurance she would get a refund like me my swich I got in 2021 Broke and my dad had insurance so we got £310
The Game Boy is like the Nokia 3310 compared against that Switch
Rip best console, it provided the best gameplay and the best experience we all miss it may it rest in piece/pieces
Tip: Throw your switch from your window and hope that the waluigi mod will come out, then wait a lifetime and activate it. It happened even ti me and it worked
meanwhile my 1st gen PSP is still running GTA liberty city stories smoothly.
When I was little I had a psp, it broke within 2 years respect to yours 🤣 Funny thing is one time our house got robbed and they stole the psp probably thinking it still worked
my 3ds from 2012 is still going strong. I never changed anything. Same with my psp that got like 15 years and i had to change battery once only. They make really bad products now.
There seems to be an error with your switch. Mine does that once. Please refer to your warranty and contact Nintendo for further assistance or buy a new one.
The almost exact thing happened to my ps4 yesterday, I wanted to play some games on it until it suddenly just gone out by random, and as I turned it back in it played the exact same sound and my TV screen remained black.
it’s probably some type of moisture inside the switch screen preview, or its probably dying, you can find a repair electronic shop nearby since switches are extremely repairable
Luckily I still have my box, the slip of the model and the little barcodes on both box and switch
If mine was going to die, I'd send it to be repaired
I hope that never happens to mine nor anyone's who treat their switches lovely
Not at all saying that's a bad idea, but remember most electronics (Switch included) have limited warranties that rarely last more than a year before expiring.
I treat my switch well but I have an annoying 3 year old cousin who donts
She already destroyed a joycon and my 12 game collection
I am sorry that you Nintendo has failed. Seems like a hardware problem. I cant do much if its a hardware problem. Anyway hope you get a replacement. :)
Wow, that thing was so loud that even at the lowest volume and even holding my phone far away from me I can hear it-
Try to press the off button for 12 seconds or press off +volume up and down and enter recovery mode

Got my switch in walmart back in 2018 and it still works in 2020-22
Oh, I remember something like this. A friend of mine had the same issue within one week my friend exploded and caught fire. You better throw that out. I know this video is from like three years ago, but still be careful.
Switch:no you cant play smash bros or else ill self destruct
Game boy:yo wsp guys today were surviving a nuclear bomb
Try holding the power button for 12 seconds, it will fix
My own Switch is already half numb, and I barely used it over five years! That's what I get for neglecting it I guess....
Fun fact my switch is the old generation where it broke easily and it’s still alive only two scratches tho

@TimeToFly Same lmao I mean ive taken care of my switch and I havent used it all too much but I wanna know how to fix it just incase it fails
@TimeToFly To Fix it, Hiold Down The Power Button for About 20 Seconds. This Will Cause The Switch To Kinda Hard Reset But You Wont get Logged Out of Your Accout,Then Turn It On Again And Tada!

As soon as i read that having the switch be constantly in sleep mode could cause this i literally walked over to my switch and turned it off since i didnt realise sleep mode could harm the switch like that

sleep mode doesn't do this, its by dropping it/bad airflow just taking general bad care of your console
