I don't know every corner of South Africa..., but I must say I doubt if we have so many beautiful homes all in one area.. Gracious home owner that allowed you into the house, as well as the beautiful/handsome and clever kids in the street. I am open to correction, but I once learnt somewhere that it is the land in Addis Ababa that doesn't come cheap and hence the price of a home. You are I Andisi must agree, such beautiful iron gates and walls can only be found in Ethiopia. Thanks friends.. I admire your energy, physical and spiritual.. I am just sitting here following it all on the screen but you have to walk distances to record it all..

Property value in Addis is same as big cities like LA and Chicago. It’s too expensive to buy in Addis nowadays because of demands

Oh,I don’t think Hyatt expensive and posh area…there is a lots of good areas i think the best area is CMC,SAR Bet ,(grass house) Bole,Bestrt Gebrel or 22 ,CBC,Semet (sunshine),Gerggey this is nice and expensive area the house cost 80,100,million birr this is equivalent to dollar (1 million dollars,) so just location it’s important

For your surprise, I can say that 90% of the houses are mortgage free.
Financial provision in Ethiopia is a headache.
Only the wealthy can have access for loans, because it is too lucrative by defaulting and claiming bankruptcy .
The net proceed b/n security/ warranty and bankruptcy is hefty. The bank officials also take part by inflating the value of security/ warranty so that they get their share( kickbacks).
We don’t have credit score system unlike other countries.
What a messed up system 😕 me am telling you with the right structure ethiopia can be one of the best countries in Africa anyway thanks alot for joining

There more beautiful residential areas in Addis Ababa by the way. These area is still new and under construction that's the reason why there are no basic central utility services like road etc. The other thing most of the owners don't live there anyway.

@@andisinyandoya I just heard foreigners are not allowed to buy unless they marry an Ethiopian Nationals women and writte down the name of their spouses as the owner of the house. I can not confirm this information, but requiring informations is need it.Thank you !

Exactly. As an Addis native, I don’t think of Hayat when I think of Addis’s super rich. I think of Bole, Summit, Betel, etc. That’s in addition to the fact that many of Addis’s wealthy drive out to CCD and other “Sheger” areas
come to Ethiopia and live in Adis
