" Buffalo Skinners", one of the best records ever.
To quote Robin Williams, "I used to think that the worst thing in life was to end up alone. It's not. The worst thing in life is to end up with people who make you feel alone."
So sad 😔
True story in many ways
Oh God Yes! That is a Mouthful well said.
This Big Country album is so under rated. One of my top 5 albums
Yeah, same here.
According to the publications I read, it was quite overrated.
All of Stuart's songs are under appreciated.
Great song from a Great Album . Ridiculously underrated band and songwriter
Most ridiculous comment I’ve ever read.
IMO Alone should have been BCs biggest hit single in their career. This song kicks ass.
Great song...this was big country's comeback in the early 90s ...this song and ships...the most underrated band of all time...
Im inclined to agree with u. All their albums were good. Stuart Adamson was a very underrated and under appreciated musician. R i p stuart. Gone but never forgotton.
The One I Love was the single and Seven Waves was awesome!
Still Love Them
Rarely ever does a band produce theri best album a decade into their career but BIG COUNTRY did with 'The Buffalo Skinners'. One of the best rock albums of the 90s.
My hero forever missed 💔
How this song managed to NOT break through in the U.S. is mind-boggling...
Should have been an instant hit
The US didn't get Queen and many other great bands either.
Stuart Adamson. My hero ❤️🎸❤️
The Buffalo Skinners was a great album, but damn was it sad.
Classic track. The Buffalo Skinners album was a great return to form with quite a heavy sound.
Always weird not seeing Mark on the skins, but this & Seven Waves are my favorites from this great album
One of my favourite BC songs, should have been a massive hit all over the world. The album is also great, one of their best, right up there with The Crossing, Steeltown and The Seer.
No, it's better.
Miss you stuart
Yes, fantastic stuff, all heart and soul
Another fabulousness pick thank you kindly I'm glad your into big country too yay yep yep yep😊🎉🎉🎉
this is absolutely amazing
Solid gold
la mia preferita in assoluto come lp "the buffalo skinners" a mio avviso il migliore in assoluto della band
Great song by BIG COUNTRY!👌🎸

SUUUUUPER SONG WITH STEWART, BIG COUNTRY RULES❤️🏴🎤🥁🎹🎸🍺🇩🇪😎👍
Superb from start to finish!!!
Oh, yes ! 👍 Best album for me. LOVE Seven Waves
Brilliant song and video , can’t stop playing this 👍🏿
The midday sky was grey and purple
At least it wasn’t blue
I want the sky to be the way I am
And what I do
For I have been a lost and lonely
Sailor on your sea
Run aground by trusting signals
You were sending me
The streets are filled with empty faces
Nothing here is new
It’s just the same in other places
I have journeyed to
I was the first across the water
Last upon the land
I walked out of the silver mine
My pockets full of sand
Alone inside my head
Alone inside my room
I feel alone inside my head
Alone inside my tiny little world
It’s not my life in those old pictures
Ones you threw away
For I was always someone else
And always far away
Walking in the darkest places
Where the mission meets
Waiting for the ground to open up
Beneath my feet
Thx Chrysalis for this remake!

The band are still good live .go and see them
Was always going to be difficult what with every new release being compared to “the crossing “ coyp

Song for song, I feel that BF and ST were Big Country's two best albums.
After the car accident and brain injury, my wife became more and more the polar opposite of the person my best friend had been.
I left after 7 years and realized this:

Great drum sound and playing from Simon Chambers? Or Martin Phillips? ;)
Simon Phillips played the drums. Martin Chambers filled in for the video.
Martin Phillips was front man for The Chills in New Zealand.
Simon Phillips, but Mark returned very soon afterwards and was the drummer on their 1993 tour to support the album
Is that the drummer from The Pretenders?
Yes, only for the video
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alone_(Big_Country_song)#Music_video
Respectfully, I'm not sure this is right. Even the Wiki page gets it wrong - Simon Phillips played on this album, but I think it might be Pat Ahern (a frequent contributor when Brzezicki was out of the band) in this video. I could be wrong, and it DOES look like Martin Chambers...
Simon Phillips isn't half the drummer Mark Brzezicki is - yet he has a Wikipedia page 5 times the size.
Totally subjective - they're different drummers, and both are amazing. And Phillips' drumming on "The Buffalo Skinners" albums is legendary. By the way, this is Pat Ahern in the video, another frequent contributor when Brzezicki was out of the band...
Buffalo Skinners became one of my favourite BC albums, especially after their departure into mainstream with "Peace In Our Time" and the more country orientated "No Place Like Home", which were both fine, but not as good as the previous ones. I also like "Why The Long Face", but "Driving To Damascus" was a disappointment for me. Anyway, there is not "bad" album they've made, similar to THE CULT, just some that i like more than others. I wish Stuart would still be around these days.
can't get a good enough look, is that Martin Chambers on drums?
@Graham Kerr yes it's Martin Chambers
Simon Phillips played on the album version.
@@ctyreman11 Right! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alone_(Big_Country_song)#Music_video
Yes Tony Butler and Martin Chambers good pals apparently since Tony played bass on some Pretenders albums in early 80s.
didn't know that... i knew Mark played with the Pretenders for a bit though...@@JD-eq4dp
Rip big man so much to come tried so hard they smashed it but still no recognition no wonder he was pissed off have a drink for me up there poxy music industry full of shit 😡
Where‘s Mark?
Gone for good now
Who’s that pretending to be Simon Phillips?
