Last words from Stuart in this great concert: "Remember, stay alive!". I saw them live just about this time in the mid 80s and it was a superfun dance party all night! RIP Stuart.
I’ve said it before, i’ll say it again. Hands down the best live band i’ve seen. I’ve seen loads, like many have, platinum bands, chart bands, rock bands, cover bands, pub bands. Nobody, nobody sound as tight and ‘live’ as Big Country. This 80’s period they were imperious
I had the luck to see these musicians at The Pier in NYC. Amazing venue, a scuffle started, Stuart stopped, chastised the miscreants, then restarted, I remember like it was yesterday.
this youtube algorithim so crazy....my childhood heores...i learned to stitich in home economics when i made a steeltown replica banner out of felt when i was 10.....and today they come back into my universe.....just a timeless , univeral, scottish vibe....
Dear GOD the lads were in excellent form here! Such thrilling renditions of some of their best work. And they only scratched the surface on the Seer album.

this was Bc at the top their game. Saw them shortly after this probably the best live band I've ever seen. Thank you Stuart for making me pick up a guitar one of my absolute guitar inspirations
In 1986 I was 23 and was a successful amateur road cyclist here in New Zealand. I have never forgotten attending my first New Zealand Road Cycling Championships as I flew on a passenger jet for only the second time. I had bought Big Country's The Seer album on cassette tape and played it on my Sony walkman as the jet aircraft took off from the airport runway. Over the headphones came side one 'Look Away' and I think I may have listened to the whole album before removing my headphones. I absolutely loved the album and band. I travelled to London in 1988 on my O.E. [overseas experience] where I lived and worked for 6 months before returning to New Zealand to begin a new killing season at the export meat [lamb and sheep] freezing works I was employed at. While in London I was fortunate to see Pink Floyd at Wembley Stadium on Saturday August 6th '88 [Momentary Lapse of Reason World Tour] plus I saw The Screaming Blue Messiahs play at The Mean Fiddler in Harlesden on Thursday 1st September '88. That was the loudest indoor gig I've ever been to as I was half deaf for 2 straight days. I love my music and the Pink Floyd gig remains the greatest gig I've ever been to by a long way. In 1990 here where I live in New Zealand I had my high speed open road near-death motorcycle accident aged 26. Instant mid-life crisis. I suffered horrific life ending injuries. I spent a month in the ICU [intensive care unit] of 2 hospitals. 101 days total in hospital. I lost my entire left leg as high up as hip and pelvis and suffered several serious internal injuries. I don't know how I survived. Doctors and surgeons believed my high fitness saved my life - at the time I was still competing in road cycling, plus I was a biathlete, triathlete, and marathon runner. Where the rose is sown… you couldn’t make up a better song.. and yet they started to make a joke about the guitar sound.. which of course Stuart invented and the use of the e-bow to an extent no one else did at the time.. guy was way ahead cutting the groove with the guitar just ask bill Nelson…

So underrated. I had to find this band myself. Just not mentioned in the same breath as dire straights and the like. And they should be.

They jammed with where the rose is sown
Yes
Jak pamiętam to w Waszym zespole na gitarze grał Polak - chyba Marek.
🖤🖤
The vocals were too quiet in this mix! Usually rockpalast sounds great, but this mixer, wtf?
Bruce, I love your music but now Trump Won, America and the world will be a much more prosperous and peaceful place!❤
