I was there. I had been checked out of everything for 2 years when my best friend and I reconnected; she surprised me with a night out to see my favorite band GLJ. To understand how I was oblivious to the fact that my favorite band was playing locally, is to understand how numb to the world I was at that time. God bless GLJ, the life blood in my veins.
Wow ! That to me is a very powerful story. This was arguably one of the best shows they’ve ever played. What a super cool friend to do that for you.I hope it helped you get out of that rut as well! There are NO voices out there that are even remotely as unique as the Aston brothers. Thanks for sharing your story 😊
Wow, first someone uploaded the Ritz gig, and now this. Thanks so much, as I used to watch bits from this as posted on Michael's GLJ website in the mid 00s!

Omg this is awesome thanks for posting! I saw this reunion in Denver at the Mercury Cafe March 1997 but I could not take pics ( before cell phone time) so this is a blessing to relive this show! Wish they could reunite again! ❤ check my channel for lots of other GLJ uploads!
yes, very interesting...he still sings J's songs but using his own lyrics to make the song's message sound horrible, like changing J's wonderful " I will dance over you" with M's horrible " I will walk all over you" (in Motion of Love)
@@schizo102 Back in the mid 00s Michael maintained a nice GLJ website. I downloaded the Glad to be Alive EP from there. There were also snippets of different live performances. It was great.
Sounds great! Seems like Michael is already over it here, though - he sings fine but barely moves. Clearly not the direction he wanted the band to go in.
Saw them during this tour. Still one of the best live shows I've ever seen. And I've seen hundreds of live shows. Not sure why the negative comments in this thread? I guess people are content with being critical
I love all of their albums together and seperate. Makes me sad that they broke up but at least the fans (who don't take sides) have probably twice as much music and they both get to do what they want musically.
The only reason Glj was great was because both of them I was there for the Live105 and KROQ festivals jay didn’t act at all bitter to Michael backstage at any of the Anniversary shows. So they didn’t get along after but they both had excellent Separate GLJ bands afterwards I still love them both.
@@donniejacobs7 only one interview online not necessarily all of them would be more than enough for you to realize you know 0 about the struggle between them. For me M, who plays no instrument, twists Jay's lyrics to sound horrible ( like changing" I will dance over you" with "I will walk all over you") is exactly how J describes him TALENTLESS NARCISSIST.
Michael comes back on the stage in time for Desire and he is totally F up and getting worse as the songs progress he is not drunk it's something more powerful you don't get drunk in the matter of a few minutes..
This is excellent. Thank you for the upload. Been revisiting GLJ lately. Nice mix of songs here.

"When Stephen smiles, my heart just seems to grow..." 🖤
Brilliant find! Many thanks for this video! \m/.,.\m/
Think they sound fabulous ❤
That's not James Stevenson on lead guitar... I think that was some French dude they had for a short while ... he's awesome whoever he is
Had no idea there was footage of their reunion, it’s interesting seeing Michael singing Kiss of Life and Jealous
the band self-released the DVD of this and was available for purchase on their website in early 2000s

well, Jay can't dance. This you must know.@@Ventliane

It's horrible. M destroyed them.
A Little dull but beautiful none the less ⚜
very dull indeed, M is just moving around, looking useless
wot a trip ...majik xxx

Quienes son los otros miembros de la banda???
Richard Blade 😢
At 1:02:24 Michael say's, (I believe) "I feel like we are teenagers." ?

Vocalista lindo, muito sexy❤
Nice to hear a Michael specific song here. Sorry Suzan
There are quite a few. Flame, Heartache, Bruises,, beyond doubt. very few glj without Michael's signature. quite a list.
@@chancesareshewears I’m talking about Michael’s specific GLJ albums. Love Lies Bleeding, Giving Up the Ghost and Exploding Girls
It can't be easy being talented, and have a brother who's got pretty much the same talent and then some more, just saying.
just do look at their respective evolution.....Jay is as splendid as ever and working hard with the same people for 38 years
I love all of their albums together and seperate. Makes me sad that they broke up but at least the fans (who don't take sides) have probably twice as much music and they both get to do what they want musically.
Sssssssssssssssshhhhhhhh
Jay's vocals are on point, not Michael. Give it up for the mighty James Stevenson on lead guitar!!!
He harmonizes with his brother well but he doesn't take care of his voice. Technically he should the same
I can almost feel the pain of Jay while listening how his brother is destroying his songs

Switch is superb on guitar. A joy to listen to.
This tour should have never happened.
Jay is RIGHT, something is wrong with Michael....
I'm not seeing it. Seems like it's ok to me. You think he's singing poorly or something?
The only thing wrong i see is that he has terrible rhythm and looks like he’s perpetually failing a DUI balance test.
I ALSO wanna know what you are seeing wrong with Mike. But I’m not saying there isn’t anything wrong either
@@chrislaplante4787, you don't know why he is nicknamed 'Gene' then.
