    WOW that's incredible. Thank you Hyperbits for this absolute gem! Not only is this a great trick but seeing how the frequencies are spread out helps to deepen ones understanding of the frequency spectrum in general :)

    Just in case someone owns Ableton but not Transient Master, maybe using Glue Compressor, with a little threshold but gain 'till it soft clips, this clips the volume to between 0DB and -1DB. I say it because, when you put the Ableton's Limiter (where the ceiling is up to -0.3DB) with no gain, there's absolutely no gain reduction. So you put the ceiling to 0DB and put the gain knob to +1DB. That's maybe a good imitation for the Transient Master technique.

    Thanks. This works incredibly well. Made kicks in all my planned references. Used ISOL8 for separation (5 ranges but free). Glue Compressor too, thanks Lowfer.

    I appreciate your contribution to the music community Bro, Just got a new Sub from me. I've got a question for you. Do you have any idea how to do something like this with FL Studio. I know this might be a bit much to ask, but had to shoot my shot Fam. Hope all is well, Thanks again.

      TO be honest you can do this trick in any DAW you want. FL should have all the tools that Ableton has to achieve this same result. Sure, they might be named differently, but the methods are the same

    Can you also do it with a snare drum somehow?

    • @Hyperbits
      @Hyperbits  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes! This exact same approach can be applied to snares

    This is amazing! Would you know if Garageband allows you to do something similar?

    • @Hyperbits
      @Hyperbits  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Garageband has some work arounds I would imagine, but it will not be as intuitive as with the more powerful DAWs. I would recommend making a few audio channels, and using Garageband's EQs to separate the different frequency bands!

    how to do this for a hihat or snare? also how the fuck to do this on a drum with long reverb decay time?

    • @Hyperbits
      @Hyperbits  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's the same approach, you would just be targeting different frequency bands to target just the percussion you are wanting. Hi-hats tend to be easier also due to the fact that they are on the offbeat.
      Lessening the reverb can be done using Ableton's warping mechanisms. Set the warp mode to 'Beat', set the mode to "loop Off", and then adjusting the amount which decreases the amount of silence between transients (aka removes the reverb tails from the sample).

    are there any copyright implications to this? Bots cant recognize a kick sample right? This seems like a cheeky way to rebel against copyright law.

      Definitely not for just a kick sample ;)

      Very cool tool, thanks for sharing! But it is Ableton specific and not quite as malleable as doing this technique from scratch imo
