I'm guessing they decided that not as many people are willing to pay $3200 as they originally hoped. This gives a full-size board at the original price point.
Super exciting news, it looks like they just shoved the internals of the GT into the XR form factor. It also looks like they kept the same battery/controller boxes based on the awkward placement of the charge port. Like Jeff said hopefully it doesn’t have activation issues 😅
Definitely get a Floatwheel ADV2 or a Fungineers Funwheel bro. Any Onewheel aside from the GTS will leave you wishing you had more power, more torque, more top speed, more range, etc.
see i love the XR for doing tricks and things, but I love the GT for its range/distance...like if i'm just cruisin streets, its a great onewheel. But XR is still the best board to come out of future motion
GT is still the king of range, they should have just sold the GT as a range and communting monster, and the XR classic as the all rounder trail/commute
This is a genuinely awesome move by FM, when they discontinued the XR in favor of just Pint and GT their lineup became kinda wonky. Best thing to come out of it was OG XR essentially becoming a platform for VESC, and now people who are a less technologically inclined can get an XR classic and have that same awesome platform, just from the OEM and updated to modern times. Now, do I wait to build my second VESC to try this out?
Stuff like this I like to try to get out as early as possible. Could I have had more production value if I spent longer? possibly, but I was really trying to beat FM to public upload haha - Julian
@TheFloatLife the production value is way better than I expected it to be for such a quick edit! All the angles and everything (or was it all just one cam walking around?), I expected it to be just a highlight of the live stream. How did you even go through the footage that fast. Are you watching it at double speed?
@ I need to get the routine of directly doing the raw cut after filming something. I’m always procrastinating it until I don’t even know what I filmed 🙈
Love to see FM listening to what people want. It looks like the screw holes on the rails are different? Are we going to need like "xr classic vs legacy xr" accessories xD
The deletes have the GT logo on them, so it looks like the XR Classic can trade some accessories with the GT/GTS. The screw holes for the footpads are the same as GT.
I'm interested. Gonna have to learn about them to repair them, but, I'm XRV, Varial, Enduro, my pads front, KushLo Rear, CBXR, soon to be 5", I mean, sure, and all the best. Jesse reaction the best. . . Can't wait to see your tear down. XR fivever, fer sure. . .
I was watching this live and just shocked at your commitment to this product line and creating fire content. I’ve been on an XR for years now and this is the first product I am actually interested in buying from them. I do have a question though- is it just better to upgrade the motor and battery in my XR? Thank you all for making our lives as riders so much better:)
"Better" is subjective, that would also involve swapping your controller over to a VESC-based controller. Most of us here ride VESC converted XR's, though this will be an awesome option for those who want to stick with an FM board but prefers the XR platform.
@ I ordered but I’m not opening the box until I get your review on max speed. I’m not trying to have the issue people had with the pint S. Advertising 20mph but only getting 18mph.
Julian here, review or first impressions hasnt been filmed yet, and wont be getting filmed today. That being said, it seems like a solid board from what we've seen. Took it out for a range test yesterday with pretty accurate to claimed range and pushback starts at 20, stronger to 23
@nottoday7495 advantages are more locked in stance and more tail clearance for better braking going down steeper hills. Disadvantages would be a lower nose height than the straight rails. Reason I chose the recurve is that I've never had a onewheel without straight rails and want something that's a bit different than my gts. Also I think it will be easier to add aftermarket rails in the future because it's already built with tilt.
I thought he said lidar when he said lightbar.. would have been awesome if my vision of a board that adapts to the terrain using a lidar on the front bumper to scan the ground angle in front of that wheel. I feel like that's the future for automatic tilt enabled. You can send me the royalties once the idea is implemented. 😁
So FM copy-pasted the most popular upgrades from the VESC community into a RTR product. This feels to me a little bit like someone finally said 'screw it, do what everyone does third party anyways if that's what they want'. This also keeps the XR platform fresh for patent and IP reasons. They can keep litigating. I'm really super interested to see how it performs once it arrives! We talkin' 100A performance?
$1900 for an XR? 😂😂😂DUDE you can get a Floatwheel or Funwheel for another couple hundred bucks! Don’t waste your money on a Onewheel. Get a VESC board like the Floatwheel ADV2 or the Fungineers FUNWHEEL. Both are way better boards than anything Future Motion Onewheel offers. I’m shocked people still support them after they’ve screwed over so many customers, brick boards, take away your rights to repair your own board, overcharge you, claim their “made is USA” but yet the parts are actually made in china and it’s “assembled” in the USA. And to top it all off their boards are weak aside from the GTS which will cost you a kidney to buy and still gets outperformed by VESC boards that cost around $2k. They aren’t for the people, they are purely for profit.
Judging from the "compare" section of FM site this has the same platform of the GT Why? The XR is still popular mainly for its platform dimensions, why using the bigger platform? this to me seems just a GT reskin What am I missing? Ps: FM now has now definitely too many useless models
They've realised they've been beaten by the VESC innovators in every category and package size and they're trying to claw it back because they can't manage to stomp it out. Fair enough, but while my love of the sport started with FM, the sport isn't FM's to control.
Great video, but it’s to little to late from FM. They bashed the community for to long, and it’s not worth the price tag. You can buy a ADV or Funwheel which will out perform it in every way. Oh and you have right to repair with those to.
throw it on the dyno
I'm guessing they decided that not as many people are willing to pay $3200 as they originally hoped. This gives a full-size board at the original price point.
man, still eagerly awaiting the XR classic ride/review video. Been checking every day!
Fr 😂 getting annoyed at this point
Can’t wait to see the full unboxing and/or review you guys do on this
Love these guy's commitment to providing to the onewheel community!
Thanks for being a member my dude!

My old ass wood foot pads are still rockin 🤣🤣🤣
Been trying to do that to find your new XR footpads! 😂
I am super stoked, I want to get one of these as soon as possible!

Seeing the XR classic release just shows you how much of a mistake the GT was.
see i love the XR for doing tricks and things, but I love the GT for its range/distance...like if i'm just cruisin streets, its a great onewheel. But XR is still the best board to come out of future motion
I think it’s more about how big of a mistake the Pint S was.
This
Hell nah, the Gt is amazing

Why haven’t yall dropped a review yet? You guys ordered the day it came out!
Apparently something got messed up with our order so we didn't get it until like yesterday afternoon

@@TheFloatLifeETA on a video review ?
ngl i started with pint x then picked up a GT, and never have had an XR or Ridden one for that matter, Im pretty interested.
I picked one up. Haven't spent money on FM products since my 2019 XR. Went with recurve just for the cruise factor. I've got varials for the OG XR.
Got a pint s…..a month ago… wish I knew about this. 🤦♂️
Where is you're review on it??
XR 4 Life
Its wild to me that ya'll have a business of this many people just because of one wheels. what a wild and whacky community
We need to see 50 more pushups! 💪🏽
Best announcement of the day is wooden footpads for GT
So glad I didn't get a pint s now, just ordered mine with recurve rails.
That’s the advantages and disadvantages of the rails ?

How are the wood footpads optional? There's no option to choose.
Btw they are gt footpads
Nice hoodie Nico
Can we get some growler rails for XRC ?
alright FL, do a complete ride and specification break down compared to the original XR.

Damn y’all got Kevin Hart to pull up?? 😯😜
Speaking of footpad activation... Jeff, where's the new XR front footpad?
Don't know if you guys noticed...but it looks like all the GT footpads fits the XR classic.
When’s the 6” thundercat dropping?
XR is Much Stable than the Pint S
But I Believe that The XR Classic will be the Same Speed of the Pint S
does this mean we can buy xr footpads in the uk again?
Tempted to sell my GTV
curious how much power it will put out compared to gt
I’m guessing it’s going to be the exact same
what is the weight of xr classic?
30lbs, 3lbs more than XR
@@nicoaleman thanks for the info. Looks like I'll wait until the solid state battery comes out. The technology is stagnating with future motion.

100A?!? lol I doubt it
hopefully the accessories fit the old
They don’t, which is the whole reason why the XR is the best board so much third-party customization
Some compatibility with GT accessories. There are GT branded accessories on the board in some of the pictures.
just hit 1k on my GT, interested but I dont want a second board just sitting around collecting dust.
So it's been a week now, where is the review?
And paid shipping 😂
already saw someone tear it down. so i feel like tfl is late right now.
