Hey Joe, thanks for the reply. Yeah I hear you on the GOTO. Most of the time I use my g11 without running the GOTO.

Good video and a solid overview of the C11 HD / CGX-L combo. I'm hoping to add the C14 HD / CGX-L to my collection in the future for planetary imaging.

Thanks for the feedback. for planetary that's a dream setup, I'm sure you will be very pleased!

That is a pretty good chair. The thing I don't like about it is that is has these cushiony buffers that cause it to wobble back and forth. It is the best I have come across so far though.

Yeah I like mine. Have not had any issue with it.

Love all of your scope reviews but I am dying to hear what you think of your new dob.

Well I'm waiting to give her a real go for a decent amount of time. I have reolisticly only had it out a handful of times. But here are the initial impressions: avt-astro.com/reviews/telescopes/initial-impressions-of-moving-up-to-a-24-spicaeyes-f-3-1/

I have a C-14 but with the CGEM mount, and think the CGEM is not muscled up enough for that tube. I do know those CGX-L mounts are pricey.

Yeah for a c14 a CGEM is really not enough mount.

I love the Edge HD11” but I prefer the new Skywatcher EQ8-R. The new Skywatcher mount is far superior.

Have not seen that mount. It would be cool to check it out👍

Would you recommend for DSO imaging? Narrow and BB
    Talking about the mount.😊
    Thanks!!

Thanks for the support! imaging wise I would ask one of the guys that's really into that. I'm kind of an advanced imagine noob by choice;)

I'm a retired engineer Vlad, advantage of a complex machined part versus a complex casting is still down to how good is the casting's machined areas if any. If it is a decent casting that's fine although it may not look it. I had to deal with castings as doing the machining of the whole mount would run up the cost beyond what is reasonable. If we had to make a sizable quantity the mold was also figured in and we would machine it. Celestron made that housing from a cast block to save money, it should be more than strong enough to hold up. Any problems are like you said about how long will they support the software and electronics?
What is your opinion of what Ed Ting said on his YT channel on mounts weight capacity? He said to divide what they claim in half.
That is a big OTA SCT. My club has a roll-off observatory with a 16" Mead LX 200. I spent some time with it on Scorpius, was awesome. At City of Rocks State Park they have a 12" Mead. I've not been to it.

Thanks for the input, quite informative! I have not watched Ed's video so not sure if he was talking about the astrophotography load. If he was that is pretty typical with any mount.

@@AVTAstro He mentioned that for several years weight capacity has been exaggerated up and he was talking about a VX, he pointed out they say they can take 30 or 35 lbs and he wouldn't get anywhere near that.
I had a mount that said it could take 12 lbs. With a 8 lb. 102mm refractor on it I had to wait for it to stop shaking and forget about it if it's a little windy. Cheap combo.

I have a C9.25 CGEM. I would have loved one of these but it’s just WAY to big. I second guessed my 9.25. Lol.

    • @AVTAstro
      @AVTAstro  ปีที่แล้ว

Yeah it's not a small setup. Especially the mount portion.

How is the CGEM with the C9.25? I plan on picking the C9.25 up but I am not sure which mount to put it on.

    • @Beaver-be8vk

@@natelatka6370 Perfect pair. Seems huge when you see it in person but it’s just the right size for the 9.25. Anything smaller and the AVX is perfect. Anything bigger I’d go with the CGX. It’s like the CGEM was made for the 9.25.
