Hi Jan, sorry to ask, i got two question, first, what is the default sleep time for this MTR ? And second if got electrical/power outage does we need to press on button at the lenovo? Thanks 🙏🏻
Hi Ahmad great questions.. #1 in case of MTR Windows you need to configure this under "power and sleep" settings in Windows IOT very straight forward ... and #2 in case of power outage the lenovo compute automatically comes back online etc.. this would in practical life be impossible mission otherwise for our customers with a mass of those devices spread over different offices... 👍☕🛠
Hi Fernandes, thanks for your comments. The HDMI ingest on GC8 should normally work with correct setup. Did you build the setup with the delivered 10m fiber usb between GC8 and compute? Did you try a reset of the GC8 via the pinhole? Make sure its connected via the fiber usb so it will grap new drivers etc from the compute... let me know☕🛠
Ouch, this setup process is painful to watch considering the heart of the system is just a Windows PC. I'd much prefer a purpose built "appliance" like the Studio X30/50, etc that runs a modified version of Android because the out of box experience is so much easier and no need to worry about Windows Update, antivirus, etc. To be honest I'm surprised Poly went this direction but I guess its due to the limitations set by Microsoft.
Hi Scott, thanks for your comments. I guess its a very personal thing some people love "appliance" approach based on Win IOT others Android. The MTR first time setup is just as it is today set by the standards of Microsoft. I know Microsoft is investing alot in room software both Windows and Android so all might change in future. Looking at "appliance" X30/50 based on Android 9 I agree is bit more of the "Polycom" sausage just turn it on, purpose build, minimum os footprint and cables, easy webui, ready in minutes, 10 min factory recovery, and updating is also all-in-one package via Teams Admin Center etc.. I guess thats probably the reason why X30/50 is a runner at the moment for Teams meeting rooms... lets see over time how this will go..
Sure, but with an Android device you're always going to be behind and they have issues with basic functionality like HDMI ingest etc. Setup is usually a one time thing, so it's not a big deal if it's a little more difficult - I'd rather focus on the features end users will be dealing with.
@@ahmedkernaf2905 Hi Ahmed👋 thanks for your comments. The G10-T/G40-T/G85-T is a Windows IOT pre imaged certified Teams Room on an Enterprise Lenovo Tiny PC. I would advice to contact any local Poly contact for the latest Zoom options...
Hi Stefanos, thanks for your comments. I would say check one of my latest videos on BYOD kit for MTR Windows... HDMI ingest available from GC8 panel already at the conference table... the USB would come from a BYOD box solution like Acroname or Sound Control Technologies (bit.ly/3c70ZwW) to switch camera speaker and mic between MTR and laptop... the extension for USB that works well is the Icron Ranger...
Hi thanks for your message. You probably need to get latest Windows Updates and upgrade the Teams App there where some display issues with previous version. Does that help? ☕🔧
Hi Jan. I have made a mess of the first time setup of a G40-T. When the GC8 and PC was turned on for the first time, I accidently pressed Arabic as the default language on the GC8. I have managed to set regional settings on the Administrator profile back to english, but when the G40 boots into the "Skype" account, the GC8 still has Arabic language as the default. I can't figure out how to fix it. Do you know how to set the default language for the "Skype" account?
Thanks for your comments David. Hope all well that can happen with the MTR no worries. You might want to reset your MTR to defaults with following procedures - bit.ly/3rpVLC8 hope that helps. ☕🛠
@@janzoetemelk Hi Jan thank you for your fast response. Due to timezone, I wasnt able to action until morning my time, but the reset methods worked! Reset method 3 was successful in this instance. Thank you :)
Hi Sachin, thanks for your message. Its common practice when you receive an MTR for Windows to update via Windows Updates Services to latest Windows packages. In case all the updates are installed you should have normal boot times for regular PC hardware... its based on Windows IOT so its already stripped down in running services etc.. hope that helps.. ☕🛠
Hi What device can I add that will allow different hdmi laptops to connect to the system at different ends of the table. Make sense what I am asking?

Hi, can we use USB type C 3.0 cable and not using the fibre cable?
Hi thanks for your comments. The cable between the compute and panel at the table doesn't have to be a USB fiber cable ... JZ☕️🔧
