⚡ Please, let me know what you think of this video and what artist you want me to cover next? 🙂
Great tutorial again!
It would be interesting for you to do one on Justice (such as their new track, Generator)
New Justice!!? Will check out now 😎@@KevinYuMusic1
Skrillex went from super busy songs to embracing minimalism
Itsss sooo much harder to make songs with minimal sounds interesting. Props to him.
Simplicity on the side of complexity. As I say 😎
He killed it a few years back at Shambhala!
I wish he didn't, all those busy songs are so complex with so many layers.
Think he mentioned how Fourtet was the one keeping him and Fred from overproducing the track
Skrillex really is one of the most legendary producers 🙌🙌🙌
You know it :)
Your content keeps getting better Will!
Thanks, Donnie!
Every video I always reach the end and wish you'd play the finished track, for those of us who don't have the tools to download and listen. Great stuff.
Thanks for the suggestion, Danny, perhaps I'll do this in the future! :)
Thanks for watching and supporting the channel 🙂
Amazing Tutorial as always🔥
Cheers, glad you liked it! Anyone else you'd like me to cover in this series?
Will stepping out of his wheel house a bit... love it! Keep on changing the genres up! Thank you
Indeed! Thanks for paying attention, I appreciate the continued support! 🙂
As an old geezer, I'm not a fan of this particular Skrillex track but love much of his work. Love your Chan btw, been binging for a few weeks and I've learned stuff I didn't know for 30 years of amateur musical experimentation. :)
Stoked to hear that! I am glad my videos have helped you so far :)
Everyone is forgetting that fred again likely was fingertapping that kick beat. He likely captured fred again's fingerdrumming performance for that sequence. Among other sections of the song. But seeing everyone (hundreds of clips)try to recreate this with zero acknowledgement that fred again is present on this track in terms of sound selection design and application is astounding. This is now a grammy winning track.
Appreciate it! 🙌🙏 Thanks for watching and for the kind words of support 🙂
great video! learnt a lot as always :)
Really stoked to hear that! Thanks for watching and supporting the channel 🙂
Great video! I've learned something, got entertained and had fun! - Thanks a lot!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you! Skrillex and relaxing teaching style 😎
Glad you think so! Thanks for watching and supporting the channel 🙌🏻
Thank you for this. So many great little insights. If you want to do a short, I’d love to see your take on his Missy Elliot sub bass, kick layering. There’s a great midrange base wobble in there somewhere that’s been bothering me for months now and I still can’t make my own take on it in vital.
Keep bringing the joy
Absolutely appreciate you support! I will look into it but can't promise it! :)
@@EDMTips lol. Well if it’s too much of a challenge for some one with an ear like yours, then we’re all lost! hahahaha. Keep up the good work brother. Amen.
That pitch bend trick was nice 🎉😊
Glad you found it helpful! 🙂
Nice... I asked you to do this about a year ago and you pointed me to your techno rumble bass video. Good stuff.
Cheers, I hope you enjoy watching it 🙂
Skrillex is such an inspiration to me! Thanks so much for the video Will :)
You're welcome, glad you enjoyed! 🙂
this video was soooo helpful… simple but complex..
Appreciate it! Thanks for watching 🙂
You're the best mate!!! You've taught me LOADS
Stoked to hear my videos have helped you so far! Thanks for watching and supporting the channel 🙂🙌🏻
You are such a beast coach!!!
Thank you so much for your comment! Happy to hear! :)
Cheers fella such intel.
You're welcome! Thanks as always for watching and supporting 🙌🏻
@@EDMTips Just amazing you give these gifts to us up and coming or legendary status producers. Legend and you did a few times come in my ear lol 💪🤓
I was vibing hahaha^^ nice one!
Happy to hear! :) Thank you!
Muchas gracias!!!
¡De nada!
"and thats what a skrillex is" 😂
😁
Will doing a Skrillex video is an instant like from me
Thank you so much, I hope you enjoy watching it 🙂
i'm so old he will always be that guy from from first to last to me
Fair enough! I know what you mean though 🙂
Danke!
Bitte!
I really hope you see this because I love your tutorials, could you do a tutorial on how people like Carpenter Brut and Perturbator mix their tracks to be so loud? Im so confused because everyone tells me to shove everything into limiters which causes certain issues but I also am under the impression that my mix needs to peak at -3db for mastering. I'm so lost and would really appreciate your knowledge on the topic
I have seen this!
LEGEND
Appreciate it! 🙌🙏
"it sounds dodgy" (is actually death metal kick pattern)😁- putting a sub like that under real/sampled kicks is a neat trick I use for metal drums, but as you've said getting that tuning and envelope right is key
You know it :)
Yeah he is. GTA said that when they showed him Red Lips he immediately wanted to remix the song and made 5 different versions. Insane.
Great piece of info, thanks for sharing!
would you ever do tutorials on how to make multiple sounds and have them work well together in call and response
Great idea, I will add this to my long to do list :)
New headphones Will? Which one did you choose?
These @sennheiser hd 490 pros are now my go-tos. Very comfy and sound incredible
@@EDMTipsbeen itching to get them to replace my DT990 Pro. Or maybe keep them both.
Thanx for like
You do real8se that scrilex took this technique straight out of Depeche Mode drum book? They were doing it since the 80s.
That doesn’t surprise me in the least. Vince Clarke is one of the OGs!
@@EDMTips Agree, but who took it to completly next level was Alan Wilder. Note how DM's sound changes since his depatrure - especially in the "ear candy" depratment.
Hey Will! Thanks for the content. Could you please make the similar video about Mau P?
You're welcome and interesting suggestion! What's your favourite track of his?
@@EDMTipsdress code or beats from the underground would be fine 🥳
@@EDMTipsplus what is his secret that he is always on the number one on the beatport? 😝
Appreciate it! 🙌🙏
1:37 and let's program it into MIDI.. what is happening here it skips how do you get simpler to midi
Great vid but I just hated how you didn't remember the other artists names 😂😭 That Marley bloke
I can’t remember everything :)
But it's modulating lp
I am so so sorry my beloved friend Will, Dj Mandragora is the Greatest Of all Time. There is no other artist that started in 2012 and has so many tracks and even more in the style they found themselves (Mandragora is the founder of futureprog). 757.000 subscribers in 10 years. He is so able to combine psychedelic trance with trap, jazz, dubstep, hip hop, rap and classic music as well. His sound is so magnificent, so distinctive and characteristic.
I am telling you, a video for Dj Mandragora. 😇
Don't be sorry. I think that there is more than one GOAT in the world :)
@@EDMTips Sure, my love and enthusiasm for this artist made me answer without considering. Bless you Will. Thanks❤
is there a reason why EDM folks prefer Ableton
DAW is a personal choice, really!
nice tutorial! but I feel like it's missing something...
Thank you! What do you think could be missing?
@@EDMTips some bodyy, maybe more mids, low midss:)) more saturation??
Thanks for letting me know!
Thx Will.. fool uses his wallet as a wrist pad
Are you calling me a fool? 🧐
you are the goat . but please dont name your song that much cringe
Too late. Enjoy the cringe.
You told me the project file was in the description so now you have my email yet you did not use it to send the project you used it to pitch me for a webinar. Ok cool why not i signed up for Wed at 8am went back to my email and thought it might be me i eill request it again. Your prompting suggests that you know that there is not a project file and asks me to sign up for your webinar. Marketing sure, clever, yes, was your video informative? yes it was a more like a ride along to your workflow and you are good but you waisted my time. most of us are not some kid that has all the time in the world and all the gear that we are sponsored by sitting around. Any adults that dont have the extremely unique opportunity to make music for a living make truly insane sacrifices to life to have the ability energy and time to even have a bit of time to truly focus on a passion for musical ideas and expression. I hope that you at least took the time to read this. Dont waste peoples time you lost a subscriber.
Have you checked your spam folder? It might have ended up here. If not, please email team@edmtips and we will sort it out for you.
P.S. There is no obligation to sign up for the workshop, or else :)
Horrible Sound ... The vocals are the worst..............LOL....... Not my style that's for sure....
LOL
Gotta disagree
With what exactly?
The title.
Shrillex sound is for 10 year old junior high kids…🥱🥱🥱
Each to their own, I think!
These videos are about exploring the ways different producers work.
You don’t have to like it in order to pick up a few tips
Bro went out of his way to click the video and then post negatively, great use of time.
but... Skrillex's sound is crap... What secret are u talking about? :D
Each to their own. Probably not the best video to watch for you then :)
No offence, but all these "ultra modern youtube secrets" can't stand a sheet in front of an any previous eras artist.
Any 90-s pop track is much more technologic and aesthetical in any aspect like a piece of art.
And btw, Scrillex sound is nasty, but poor and boring.
None taken, thanks for the feedback!
