I'm always amazed how you can create these "how to" videos look so simple, so instructive... and the tracks you create can be so beautiful. I've been following for around a year and I always learn something new. I'm hooked!
Amen brother! I couldn’t do what I do, if it wasn’t for you! When someone asks on any forum, “what’s the best place to get the best tutorials” then I point them to your channel.
Love your tutorials Will, been watching since lockdown and learned so much. This is your best one in recent times, such a good track too. Amen brother! I passed my Audio Production degree alongside watching your stuff - good times!
Hell yea, amen brother! I have watched countless amounts of your videos, and I have never once clicked away. I always stay until the end. Thank you for contributing to the next generation of artists.
Holy crap, Will... this came out BANGER! I mean, what you do in an hour makes me want to just throw in the towel, but then again you inspire me to try these techniques myself, and I learn sooo much from you! Thanks bro!
I’m so happy I (finally) found your channel Will. Even following just a few of your tips has lifted me into working comfortably in the arrangement view after languishing for years in clip view getting nothing done. Thank you so much. Also worth mentioning that I’m watching the vocals section on obsessive repeat, that small moment when you realise that the vocal relationship with your track is fire, haven’t had feels like that since the last Wisternoff release!
That was amazing, thanks for that, super helpful 🙏🏼 I even managed to release a track based on the workflow. For the 16th notes, as a shortcut, in ableton 12 I found you can, in the piano roll, select your 4 notes, go to Transform, Arpeggiate, steps 0, choose 1/16 and it's done 🙂
My guy, I'm gonna guess you're not the only one. Melodic House is trending, you're phasing cause it's popular now, and man's releasing this for the same reason 😅
man I love your videos they are too helpful and this type of knowledge ppl don't give out but you do and that's what I love about this channel.keep growing brother .
Amen Brother Will. In a month I've learned so much with you so I want to say a huge THANK YOU for all the tremendous work you do here. So much inspiration and details to dig into the music production world and hands down, the best teacher out there. Cheers from Ukraine brother PS. It would be amazing to see Kiasmos or Christian Loffler tutorials one day
Love that you use Serum for most things, as it's so accessible and many have it (I do). I'd really love to see what you could come up with using Pigments.
another awesome tutorial Willster Amen and Hell yeah in abundance. The 5 secret sauces are mega just need to remember them lol, tope content as always mate
cool little trick if you dont know it already. For referencing the midi just hold ctrl and click on both midis then click focus in the top left corner and you can just work on one! good videos thanks
Man I so love the chop feature of FL Studio when I need to make chops of chords, notes, etc along with arps (though the Abelton arp feature isn't bad either, but this is definitely another awesome tutorial!
Hi Will Saw you yesterday on the plane from Lisbon, I was going to say hi and thank you for the nice videos but didnt so I will say it here: Thank you for the nice videos!!! All the best
At 8:16, you show "Hall Reverb" and "Hall Reverb EQ" presets on Return B. Should these presets be in my Live 12 Suite package? (They are not, for me) ... or are they presets you developed? (And, if so, where might they be available)? Again, THANKS for this IN-DEPTH look inside your workflow ...
At 7:42 can you use an envelope with attack to modulate the filter cutoff instead of the LFO the same way you used an envelope on the bass? Why use LFO if you can make an envelope behave similarly? New to music production, thanks
Tip: you can change the key of all midi's at the same time by selecting them all and then hit cntrl/cmd A and then go up or down with your key arrows ;)
Question. I’m new to Ableton and switching from Logic so bear with me. But for the drum rack…. Does it matter what note you put the drums on? I was putting mine in the c3 range to have them in tune but you have yours all the way in the 1 octave and they’re still good sounding 😮
Another cracking vid Will 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 - thank you as always. I’d love you to do one Nordic Disco (Todd Terje / Prins Thomas). It’s melodic too, so hopefully will appeal to many subscribers . Thanks 🙏
Awesome, detailed, motivated ... so SO kind of you to share!! One Q: Which version of Serum was this created with? I've just installed Serum Demo, which is v1320 (1.32b0), and the Serum plugin warns that your presets were created with a *later* version of Serum (and are hence unusable) ... Maybe the purchased version of Serum will be a later version??
So I now see that Steve Duda does not update the demo version very often. Serum 1.36b8 was released October 11, 2023, and I'm sure that the version used for this Live Set was at least that, or later. BTW, it seems that revision histories (and even the current version info) is not generally publicly available - being provided to bona fide users. Pretty clear that Serum is key for this genre of music, so time to spend some green energy (I'm based in the U.S. - our money is green).
Thanks for the video! Quick question on the 5th bass. Is there any specific reason you added the 5th via a note in the MIDI versus adding another oscillator and pitching it up? I've seen it done both ways and I'm wondering if there are pros/cons to either method.
EDM Tips, could u make a vid on overcoming difficulties in ableton live lite? like ho 2 make ur sounds from scratch and stuff like that, bcuz im having troubles making the kind of music that i want 2 make bcuz of how restricted i am in ableton live lite. thank u and have a good day.
Massive stuff and HELL YEAH🐐 Thanks for doing this - learning so many things! 🤩 Also, I'm curious how you've arranged your Drum Kits - do you like cherrypick claps, snares and such from VEH3 and keep a copy of the entire pack somewhere else?
@@EDMTips No nooo I don’t want you to share all the goods 🤩 I was curious about how you’ve organized the samples inside your Drum Kits folder, that you use to find claps etc.
I think that must have been a different channel, or maybe I just experimented with different titles. I can’t remember but I definitely haven’t deleted any vids!
