Hello, this is Venox formerly Stitch from Voodoo Box, the developer of LoneLy: The DesCent. Thank you for mentioning my project in this video. I never thought it would be mentioned in a list like this and I'm so happy to be listed here with the other Silent Hill clone gems. Absolutely awesome! 🤯About the game itself: The English version is still in development, but I'm working on an another project at the same time. In any case, there will be more to LoneLy this year and the development will also progress more quickly as soon as my work on the second project is finished. I didn't even know some of the games here yet, but they looked very interesting. I'll definitely check them out - thanks! ✌

Hello! LostLifeOrigins Dev here!😁Thank you for completely valid review! It was completely unexpected to see my game on the list!🤯
I see that you played steam demo... it is really outdated, two years old... (I need to update it ASAP 😅)
Since that, there's been a lot of new content added...
    - Moved to Unreal Engine 5
    - Improved combat (Not the best but still better than in demo)
    - Improved AI (now AI can be scared or run in packs)
    - 20+ types of enemies
    - Bestiary (you can gather information about enemies to make it easier to fight them)
    - Climbing system(you can climb on top of cars, fences allowing you access more area in some areas😅)
    - New game mode (allows to unlock secret events and items in act 2...)
    - Reworked inventory
    - Some tutorials been added
    - New events and secrets
    - New Collectables (Some of them have effect on your stats or events that you may encounter)
    - Reworked some areas and improved graphics
    - Lots of optimizations and other stuff
Act 1 is a slow-paced tutorial like, and what you do in it affects future game events... Act 2 is more combat and city exploration oriented.
The game still has ways to grow... I was making it purely for myself to recreate that SH atmosphere and that feeling of exploring foggy town... now the project has grown much bigger😅
And with communities help, GameDev live streams where anyone can share ideas and feedback, I'm trying really hard to improve it and make a better experience!☺
If you or anyone else want to try the paid steam version, I can provide FREE keys!😊Just let me know!😊
Thank you for your review! 😊😊

Believe it or not, The Evil Within 2 plays a lot like a Silent Hill game. In fact, you can even unlock James Sunderland's gear for Sebastian to wear. It's not exactly like a Silent Hill game, but it has enough elements that if you play it, you'll see what I mean.

Signalis, Cry of Fear, and Lost in Vivo are peak in terms of spiritual successors to Silent Hill in my own personal opinion. Their own takes, as well as their own spins ono the gameplay of the beloved series. While I've yet to play the others, I can certainly hope to give some of these a try.

What a nice list of the games, sadly the only one that I played was Tormented Souls since I'm mostly a console gamer, most of those titles are on PC and yeah..., I don't have a PC gaming and is kind a luxury in my country to have a proper PC to play modern games so I can't afford it.
But still those games looks darn good to give it a try.
In case if you are still looking other indie games similar to Silent Hill, I recommend you the game: Injection Pi23, it's a nice indie game made by one guy from Spain who clearly is a big fan of Silent Hill since the games feels like a love letter to the franchise, still it has flaws and clunky gameplay but is still enjoyable.
Also the series has 2 games: the first one called No name no number that has a complete version on PS4 (include 2 extra DLCs chapters) and the sequel called Ars Regia.

Didnt see it mentioned anywhere else but needed to provide a correction, there is a hint for the clock puzzle in Banned Memories, you even showed it on screen. The note in the classroom with the clock talks about how the school was opened 358 years before 1993, which is 1635 which turned into time is 16:35 or otherwise 4:35 which is the solution to the puzzle.
Not a terrible puzzle for a game that is held together with soggy duct tape.

As far as I know, he's still working on the english translation and part 2 of "The Descent" as well. My outrageous self promotion aside - There are other silent hill esque rpg-maker horror games but some sadly never got completed. The most promising one for me was "Taut - just another silent hillish game" which is more Silent Hill on the outside and Twin Peaks on the inside with a very complex story and tense atmosphere. It's a shame a lot of these games only take fog and rust from Silent Hill, when SH was more than that. yeah 1 and 3 had those elements and 2 had teh fog, but the story telling and characters and the ways those 3 games did their horror made SH. For my money after SH3 the only game to come close to SH is Rule Of Rose and that game had no fog and no rust. But its story telling felt very SH and it had its own atmosphere.

Just finished Tormented Souls today, it certainly shows its influences, and I'd say it's better Silent Hill than most SH games that came after SH Trilogy. It's not a psychological horror tho, but it's not cheap horror either.
There are a few issues tho, combat can be somewhat clunky (first enemy I've encountered I've beat in close combat but wasn't hitting them, the other enemy type, quite often I'd have to circle and approach from the side while they were on the ground to even hit them. You're backtracking waaaaaay toooooo much, and puzzles can be... too wonky/difficult at times, like... I've not had issues with puzzles until mid game, actually quite easily figuring some of them out, but then some of them pop up, where you don't really have proper clues on how to solve them nor logic nor anything like that, and they might end up too abstract at times, and some times, it's just something you've seen an hour or two ago, and have no clue where to go next, so I've resorted to guide.
What might turn players off (other than Tank controls which I don't mind) is main character model, which looks weird/animeish and overstuffed, not detailed per se, but like... not fitting or something along that line, they way main character is dressed is just too much imo. But it's a really game worth playing for horror fans (which I'm actually not lmao). Despite there being elements of RE, SH and even Fatal Frame 2 in it. Story isn't that surprising, there are major plot points I've seen coming from the very beginning, but there are plot twists I actually didn't see coming at all. So I'd suggest you give it a glance or two, like a few reviews or something...
I could probably drone about some things not making much sense, but it doesn't really ruin the experience... the only thing that really bothered me with the game is Map not showing my location, and not pointing to my location, as in... after some point in the game, it would open the map to 2F-W always, even if I wasn't there.

My apologies! In any other video, I would, but it's more of a mod of a pre-existing game that has little to no resemblance to Silent Hill. The purpose of this is to highlight and find indie games that are in spirit to Silent Hill.

Its kinda rude calling these games a Sh clone, more like inspiration, clone is its the same game dude, most of em have theyre own perspective of the SH aesthetic but different in their own. Theyre just agreat tribute for a great game, that konami is butchering nowdays.... Fuck konami!!

Keep it up. Your writing and delivery sound like a high school kid delivering an essay as a speech for a class. Very unnatural and stilted. If you see a word you haven't used before take the time to look up how it's actually pronounced, and try to avoid redundant and repetitive sentences like "...the atmosphere that gives you this unsettling nature by this mysterious force that is unexplainable, and hard to decypher as it's not explained..." .

Is english not your first language or something? The way you word things, drag on sentences, and mispronounce stuff makes every other sentence that comes out of your mouth sound really strange

As someone who actually grew up with survival horror, the constant silent hill 2 "inspiration" is really irritating. Stop remaking silent hill 2, your not team silent. For the love of god do a story that isnt about a broken man fighting straight jacket monsters.

If someone told me that Road to Hollow Hills was a lost seventh generation AAA survival horror game with a budget in the millions, I'd have believed them if I didn't know better! If the devs of it read this comment, know I am cheering you on.

It’s so wild that nobody really done into CONCLUSE so far, like a big analysis video or a deep dive. There was also an incredible TH-cam ARG accompanying the game, and I think a sequel, too. How it’s stayed under the radar… no clue!!
