I just wanted to say that I think this was one of the best videos you've put together. The quality of the camera angles and the preparedness of the topic covered were excellent!
T.y Coach Eli for this tutorial i will practice it today t.y so much. Keep on makaing videos it realy helps us specially me who cant afford private coaches
Thank you guys for that great video! I’ve never done before the forhand flick, because I don‘t know how to do it. But with your tipps I will try it at the next training session. This stroke can be so effective! I‘m looking forward to practice this! Thanks again!
@@ebatt8803 Yes, it's cool, as we mostly flick on the back hand, because it's a natural wrist action. When it's forehand, I normally push. Let's try this! Nice video, guys. :)
Perhaps address the issue of accurately reading the spin on the serve so you can determine whether or not the ball is "flickable" ... or address exactly how (or if) to flick a medium to heavy, short to medium length downspin serve. I know it can be done on the backhand or on a penhold forehand fairly easily ... but forehand shakehand is another matter.
same question, but i guess you can only recognize the "right" ball to flick thanks to a lot of practice & experience. but if you have some good tips to make it easier, please make a video. thanks for another great tutorial, Eli!
Something I'm actively working on. Sometimes I seem to just block when trying to execute a flick - which does not work out well if I received a ball with backspin. But I am improving so keep up the great tutorial videos.
Hi Sir, I get great learnings from your videos. The tips and demonstrations are really very good and you provide very simple methods through which we can develop the feeling. We have lockdown in India so please suggest or make a video through which we can practice in home without having any TT table. How can we send our videos to you for asking our doubts?
@ebatt after using ur video to improve my back hand , looks like this is next of my list. I like the tip of holding the wrist all the back and also of moving with head down. I think those two things r missing from my game and will probably end up adding the flick to my game. Thanks for ur exceptional videos. One thing I am looking for is tips on how to handle snake shots and high balls.
awesome tutorial. love the wrist work. could you demonstrate the difference between flicking underspin ball, no-spin ball and strong side-spin balls? thanks
@@ebatt8803 thanks. speed, spin or placement, which is the most important for a beginner? or, in other words, in which order should I focus my training? I lose a lot of points on FH flick in games.
I really wanted this point to be covered as I have confusion regarding this. When should I choose to do this stroke and against what levels of height, spin is it even possible to do this stroke and is there any point when one should go for this instead of a fh topspin? Thank you
Good explanation. Maybe you could emphasize that flat contact is much better. With spin, you could lose velocity of the ball. Expecting backhand flick, and, my favourite topic, long pips attacking
@@ebatt8803 There are not enough tutorials about long pips, especially in attacking section, and those shots, properly executed, can make troubles for players. Try it, I could help :)
Excellent tips for forehand flick. Is there any limitation how far a backspin serve can be returned by forehand flick? Is it save to do forehand flick to an heavy backspin/underspin serve?
Actually got an unrelated question: when the index finger is so high on that rubber. That's the grip I use. Does it have a name? I couldn't find an answer.
Having the index finger that far up is associated with the 'forehand grip', although this is indeed a rather extreme variant. Players who use such a grip are typically going to be forehand dominant while struggling with their backhand. Pros typically change their grip between forehand and backhand, putting pressure on the rubber with their thumb for backhand strokes and their index finger when playing forehand strokes.
@@ebatt8803 please try to balance the video's volume to be same. Some video is normal and some video is too loud/small. Your lessons are easy to learn, thank you!
Great tutorial, TY! I’ve overheard another coach the advise to squeeze the handle at contact before as you do here. Is this always good for all attacking strokes? If not, which other strokes besides the FH flick?
How much underspin was in those serves? I personally struggle with flicking only heavy underspin balls. And in the video it looked like quite the flat hit flick and not so much a brushing motion. How much brushing vs. hitting do you feel you usually do? I understand that thats somewhat dependent on the incoming ball.

Hopefully once we get a studio we will be able to do more videos

Is it possible to flick a short backspin serve? I feel theres not enough room to lift the ball up, everytime i try to flick it goes to net
My coach is also try to teach me the squeezing technique !! Cool

IMHO, squeezing helps in backhand loop too. and forehand/backhand serves. almost everywhere when you need extra sping.
Don't know why most of the coaches on Utube are left handed . How do i change the video to fit right handed player like me .
