Thanks man, awesome video. I never had a video game make me rage so much since I don't know... the old Tomb Raider games... on about my 12th try or something I sprinted my way down to the road and stole...ahem...commandeered a rebel pickup... just about to celebrate victory when an apache blew me up... nearly broke my headphones in rage. A few tries later I got it, when the hack was done I hopped over the east wall of the building and out the way you come... down through the woods towards the road... this time keeping a couple under-barrel grenades ready for any helis, spawned an armoured SUV and away I went, getting pummelled by two heli's mini-guns all the way to the checkpoint. I beat this mission on extreme mode and tier one! I entered the camp from the south side, sneaking past the small hut detached from the rest of the camp. I entered through a door on the right side (sometimes the guard looks left, I just walked whenever since it was so quick into infiltration because I'm impatient, but he has a set rhythm). I placed a mine on the road far enough behind him so that he doesn't set it off. I climbed the small hill on the left side of the road, jumping the first barricade half-wall. You need to prone hear to the second barricade half-wall not because of the guard directly to the right, but because the guard standing on the outcropped ledge (next to the turret) will spot you. Be careful here! Two guards have a set pattern to walk between the main road and the guard post on the south-west side of the camp, so sometimes you need to wait 20-ish seconds to let them past. If you do the everything up to this point fast enough, then you can usually get through before the first cycle. Always watch out for the guard here. Next you need to go up the hill on the left, switching between prone and crouch to avoid detection from the aforementioned guard next to the turret. Now you can go two paths; either directly into the main building or walking around to the other side. It all depends on where the singular guard inside the building is located. If he is there immediately when you walk up the hill, I usually walk around the building. Be careful, there is another guard on a cycle walking around this edge of the building, albeit on a longer loop so you only need to look out for him once. After hugging the walls of the main building, you should find another door that you should enter. Then up the stairs to matchwood. For prep of the next phase, I placed a mine on the inside stairs and one on the outside stairs, as well as another on the south facing walkway (this one was probably useless, but habitual). After matchwood dialogue, I immediately call my guns for hire and diversion, and tell my team to open fire. I find for some reason this means they don't immediately die but stay near the camp entrance and do a lil bit of decent damage. I fire a bunch of bullets into the generator to destroy, and then prone down on the northern walkway on the building (next to the stairs). There are three main things to pay attention to here; the outer stairs, the inner stairs, and the apache helicopters that spawn in regularly. The mines are used for an initial buffer to kill the snipers and starting helicopters, but after the start its about 3 and a half minutes of really hard multi-tasking. I've given this mission a go so many times and I have the first phase down super well, but the firefight second phase defending matchwood is the most difficult mission in the game. Eventually I got lucky and hit my shots fast enough and beat this part. After matchwood says he is done, the final phase starts. You need to kill the residual unidad around you, because there are so god damn many of them that spawned in. I drove the first jeep outside on the north side out after clearing as many guards from the roof, and then drove to the south. Be careful here, as its really easy to get stuck on the many many vehicles (jeeps, helicopters, trucks, all burnt) that have piled up in phase two, and the remaining unidad will probably get you if you don't stay moving. After all that craziness, its a slightly long drive to the safehouse. They have a few blockades that are set up, and quite a few armored suvs and apache helicopters that spawned in, but as long as you drive fast, don't crash and don't stop, you should be fine. Congratulations on beating the hardest mission in the game!
I completed the mission on lvl 16!!! It was very difficult though and extremely tedious having to crawl everywhere. Great mission overall though it really changed my play style. Thanks for making this video cause i just couldn't find the generator.
Thank you very much for this, I could not for the life of me figure out a good way to do this. Failed about 8 times still after watching this, but those were due to my own impatience...and getting absolutely swamped by the UNIDAD trying to get out of the base without killing everyone, lol.
Thanks Man. I tried this mission the first time it was offered and decided to leave it for later. I forgot about it until I'd almost completed the game. Tried a few time and failed. Getting to Sam was fine but got killed in the firefight. You're guide has shown me importance of planning your actions. It's well thought out and covers all the areas. Completed the mission first time after watching this. Pure class!!
you really timed it best/perfectly at 11:48 etc when you go in that fence doorway under the mini sniper tower to get inner access - both the guard outside closest to you and the other one at the bottom, base of the tower face your way looking out - it just so happens when the outer guard closest to you reaches west side of sniper tower base near other dude, he about faces, and resumes patrol back to east of your entry point. It is also the moment when the sniper guy up high is no longer facing away - yes - they all look west at that moment when the main guy closest to you patrolling the route outside that doorway is at the west extremity of his route. Don't go running in when this closest guy is on his way back east towards the doorway - it's a predictable back and forth pace. Cheers!
Thank you so much! I was able to complete this idiotic mission on my first try after taking out the generator and using your infiltration route. I had already lost track of my failed attempts...
This video was helpful... I had to keep rounding up my team to keep them from getting killed.. I used the rebels and I also stayed in the building and used mortar rounds. I just kept firing at the enemy who came in the building until things died down. Could use the vehicles in the compound because everything was torched from the mortars. So, I escaped on foot through that back gate and headed towards the yellow escape line. I hide in from the choppers in the dense forest. when the alerts died down, I stole a car GTA style and drove to the finish like you did. It took aout 50 or more tries and a lot of new strategies. Just be patient.
After watching this video I first got the basic rebel upgrades (level1 of each) and then followed ur path. Btw I’m only level 13. I completed it on the 2nd attempt, comparing that to my 3rd day loosing streak. I’d call that a win.
Great job, and the only working tactic I guess! I tried to kill everyone in the base before 2100 but they respawn as Sam Fisher calls... only the damaged structures (jenny, jammer, alarm, SAM) are still broken. Bravo!
Thank you so much for this! I didn’t even think to take out the generator, because I figured I’d be caught! Can you do a video of The Predator mission? I’m hopeless!
Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank so so so much this mission gave me so much pain, I can now finally rest from having to do it again.
I see these special mission add-ons as a sort of Final Exam by the developers... Koani story missions are a bit like that: Truck Depot undetected - I had to use flares and drone recce - and Flight Plan makes you fly a plane... it is like the developers said with these special add-on missions: you will be forced to use the mechanics of the game you've never used before on your own: Rebel Diversion/Rebel Fighters and Mortars etc. For Operation Archangel/Caveira at Chemical Institute at Libertad, those prisoners in the cages at Libertad base on side near apartments are there to be freed: when you release rebels they join your fighting force, hence the high high baddies inside and Weaver/Holt/Midas AI inevitably go down every single time - medic drone again here so so critically helpful and a must. Operation Silent Spade - it's like you're meant to learn classic/old helicopter controls to be ready for that canyon part.... did you spend the whole game not bothering to do any Rebel Radio? The dirty bomb part is easy - if you're familiar with Rebel Radio tactics. Like Freedom of Speech story mission in Tabacal is also a glorified Rebel Radio. etc
I made the mistake of letting Matchstick dictate what missions I was doing and when, or Matchbook…match-head. Whatever. I was in the area to pick up a 50rd magazine for the Tar-21; then got suckered into this mission WAY too early in my game. Super frustrating. Took your advice and came back later: I still hate this mission. But I hate it a little less. Tyvm for the tips
I'm guessing after Sam Fisher does the hack, you're meant to do every single thing to buy time/space - some quick mines before you prone yourself, some proximity mines, then even some diversion lures and flares over the side - medic drone crucial yes - but typically Holt/Midas/Weaver go down only once - so then switching loadout to Explosive Drone helps when the Unidad reinforcements drive in - at the end when you've cleared the base, your explosive drone can go over and take out the last SAM - and you can Rebel Drop off a choppa to help the exfil
Whoever designed this mission, and the lack of instructions in how to do it, should be fired by UBIsoft and receive a lifetime from designing video games. Biggest flaw in GRW is the lack of clear mission orders, trapping you into bad approaches. Thanks for posting this. Really frustrating mission
like Penguin Overlord says at the start about having your skills etc maxed up - these special missions are meant like sort of Final Exams designed to call on every applicable skill mechanic provided in the game. it's like the developers felt sad nobody uses lures/flares or medic drone for everyday use - aha - now we will make a mission that almost pretty much forces you to call on these tactics if you want to beat it.
When you get to the oil drums inside in the corner and fly up your drone to talk about the genny, it's 22:50 - and when you're talking to Sam Fisher you check the time again - and a WHOLE HOUR has passed!! This is the crazy part of this mission - how the time compression really forces you to not d*ck around too much! I'm stuck at the infil in the ditch outside the doorway about to make the dash when the guys at the sniper tower turn away - and my clock is 02:42 - so I'm pretty much screwed already! So hard to figure it out observing and doing all in one go - this mission is designed to have you fail or do advance homework before you make your decent final attempts - there is no way you can come in to this locale *blind* and do the recee and do the infil - you won't get it all done in time. Not in one go. You basically need to show up at 20:00, shoot out the genny, do the infil, maybe already be in at the ditch even before 21:00 - I tried shooting out the snipers before 21:00 beforehand - and a new crew comes in - you have to re-spot the whole base again - it refreshes at 20:46 or so maybe 20:30! Suddenly there were new purple clouds all over the place! So while you can cheese the genny and drone jammer, you can't cheese the snipers until like you say when you talk to Sam!
"Nomad, this is Matchwood. I'm in position. Here are my coordinates." Matchwood, this is Preston. There is a Settlement that needs your help. I'll mark it on your map.
So if I kill the helis fast enough and clear ground forces, I can lose the unidad patrol level while in the base? They just keep on sending reinforcements as fast as I can kill them.
Yavz75 you have to exit the base a little bit first, but essentially yes. You need to use rebels, have a .50cal to take out helicopters, and sync shot the two guys by the SAM launcher, but it’s very doable.
Penguin Overlord got the hang of it after I posted this comment and I got it. Thanks, it’s become really easy since. Especially with the cloak suit from the future soldier missions.
Yeah, who's mission area is it anyway, yours or Fisher's? If we say its OK to take out some guards going in, then that's how its should be. Otherwise he can watch his own ass.
I run to left @ start, flip on infareds and follow the fence to rail road track. Fence restarts on left after you cross tracks, I run along it to left again but on right side of fence(inside) until you see a sniper tower on right. There is a gap that let's you run right down middle. Just wait for the guy walking along side the sniper tower to turn away from base and run right in behind him and don't stop. I usually run straight into server room without any steps taken. I call for rebel reinforcements and diversionafter he delivers cheesus lead faucet line. Get on top of crate in corner of room and aim @ front window/stairs. Nobody ever runs in from left side...lol. it's a pretty stupid mission and Mr "Billy Badass" just makes me think of cable guys ohhhh Billy. Guy gets you into a stupid situation and you end up having to lead him out as if he's a suburban housewife taken hostage. The mention of hacking 50 times doesn't make it sound anymore realistic. More like some coder found a loop hole or government had one implemented into software @ creation but nobody is sitting there "hacking" on the fly its either a script/app/executable run from flash drive or URL with an exploit to deliver a payload. I'm sure it gave certain people a hard on feeling tough but the only lead faucet you get is the one he delivers from behind as he sets you up in the worst way saying sneak in then call hell down on yo. Would have been much easier to take out anti aircraft and rocket it from heli at nice safe distance.
That’s the correct point of entry. Easy peasy. As for the mission itself, it’s absolute cheese so I did the only honourable thing: cheesed it. To be honest, most of this game is cheese. Plans almost never work, and cheese, the almighty cheese, is rewarded. A dairy delight.
I've been stuck on this mission for 4 hours now and this helped but when the helicopters came that's when I kept dying Edit: still stuck the helicopters keep killing me with the missiles
I've been gaming since I was in kindergarten I am 36 and this is one of the top 3 most God awful experiences I've ever had with a boss/mission absolutely terrible! But thanks for this guide I don't have every state maxed out as you suggested but I was finally able to beat it after 3 days of trying, eventually I just sprinted halfway to the extraction point the unidad waves were endless, once I was far enough away in the mountains I shot down the 3 helis and my unidad alerts went away I called a rebel truck and drove the rest of the 2km to the waypoint. Again awful awful mission but great guide, I hope whoever designed this mission was fired
Thanks for this video! I am confused, however. There are 3 entrances, not just one. Behind him, in front of him, and the stairs, so I am confused what you mean you perched by the crates and said that was the only entrance? Is this a glitch in the game?
Good question. A few reasons why not: 1. The first few times I tried it when SO1 came out, it took me a few attempts to get it right and not get spotted by someone. My current infil method gets me inside the base easily with minimal risk of getting spotted. 2. If I parachute straight in without any of my prep work, I can’t take out the generator; doing so shuts off lights for infil, takes down the drone jammer so that I can use Medic drone and scout out the base beforehand (important for Extreme difficulty), turns off the alarm [not sure if that makes a difference], and takes out the SAM site so that I can fly out of there and avoid the Unidad ground forces that are in your way when heading towards the RP. I could theoretically do it beforehand, then get in the helicopter and parachute in, but for reasons 1 and 3 I prefer my method. 3. I feel more like a badass for sneaking into the base Sam Fisher style, and feel that it’s more in the spirit of the mission to sneak in from the ground than fall from the sky and hope no one notices.
Thank you SO MUCH!!! I did a shitty version of your tactics since Im on playstation, the controls are not as tight as on pc, but it worked and finally after wasting several hours on this mission, I am moving on, fuck Ubisoft for this mission and the buggy game, but tnks for bringing back Sam Fisher, and Thank you for this tactics! 🖖
I figured out you camp up there with Fischer and then you call in rebels and then you tell your team to go with you and then you stay up there til there are no more helicopters then you exfil.
along with Rebel Diversion you are using there at the end, you can use flare guns - honestly flare gun will pull them all away for about twenty, thirty seconds to help open up a safe exit passage corridor. Also, the mission by nature spawns you in the worst location. It is much better to recce from the other side of the base coming down from the mountain on the south of the map via motorbike - you can binocular the generator and the drone jammer. I think you can easily take out the drone jammer but to your point the genny is better cuz of the lights... the SAM is on its own circuit - in fact I think this base has TWO SAM's - the one on the island is a bitch but if you grenade it at the end or turn it off you can then safely Rebel Dropoff a choppa. I've had Weaver/Holt/Midas AI give away position before reaching Sam Fisher. Make them hold position at the start. As you infil. Right as you're talking to Sam you can Regroup "Rally on Me" and they get in fast so they are helpful. Great idea on the sync shots of the snipers... If you hare playing with real life friends, getting team mates to stay out front and plant land mines for the reinforcements driving in really helps pile up the driveway.

Man, I am currently playing, the apaches, they just kept on coming. I am level 10. I ran out of ammo so I went to the armory. It went on for almost 1 hour, they just kept on coming. Dumb fisher kept following me. With all the destroyed apaches blocking the armory, he is stuck inside. And still more apaches are coming. I am too tired, and I cannot get him out. I tried throwing grenades, ramming the destroyed apaches, but to nothing, and more apaches are still coming. I'll just quit today. Will try from start again tomorrow. Was about to quit and I saw the culprit. Weaver gut stuck from the destoyed apaches, running but stuck running in place. He is the one causing the enemy to be always on alert. As no more enemies around, I can ram theses destroyed apaches with more momentum. Seems like Fisher does not want to follow me. I lead him then stop, he just won't budge. I went on without him, then got a message that he is too far away. Went back and noticed he is running towards us. Man, more than 1 hour wasted just for this mission.

God tier instruction. THANK YOU SO MUCH. I was struggling real bad on this until your video. Thanks a lot sir 07
Thanks for posting the video, it was very helpful. You did an excellent job with the walkthrough. Saved me from living a lifetime of start overs.
This is the best video. I didn't think to hide in that hiding spot behind the crates. I just parachute in there on the 2nd floor instead of sneak in.
Gotta love when a game that doesn’t need a “you’re seen and you fail” stealth mission puts one in
you really timed it best/perfectly at 11:48 etc when you go in that fence doorway under the mini sniper tower to get inner access - both the guard outside closest to you and the other one at the bottom, base of the tower face your way looking out - it just so happens when the outer guard closest to you reaches west side of sniper tower base near other dude, he about faces, and resumes patrol back to east of your entry point.
I almost uninstalled because of this mission
I still am falling this 10 times
after failing countless times, I came across you’re video and finally finished it!!! ❤️
2 years later and this guide finally helped me finish the god dam mission aha thanks
Thanks man......was stuck on it for 4 days...
I’m currently still stuck on it on day 9, I finally decided to look for help...
Great job, and the only working tactic I guess! I tried to kill everyone in the base before 2100 but they respawn as Sam Fisher calls... only the damaged structures (jenny, jammer, alarm, SAM) are still broken. Bravo!
Thank you so much! I remember uninstalling this game due to not being able to get into the base, but this gave me a nice kick, thank you! I mean it.
Thank you so much for this! I didn’t even think to take out the generator, because I figured I’d be caught! Can you do a video of The Predator mission? I’m hopeless!
Glad I could help! I already did a while back, here you go: th-cam.com/video/O4v0DNIoggs/w-d-xo.html
The last time I played this particular mission I used an APC and drive in through the front entrance over to the building.
Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank so so so much this mission gave me so much pain, I can now finally rest from having to do it again.
I cannot beat this mission for the damn life of me
finally finished this mission yesterday what a pain in the A**
I see these special mission add-ons as a sort of Final Exam by the developers...
Thanks for the video, yes a challenge to get through, love you mission walkthrough :)
Ubisofts were plain idiots for making this mission and forcing it on us like that.
like Penguin Overlord says at the start about having your skills etc maxed up - these special missions are meant like sort of Final Exams designed to call on every applicable skill mechanic provided in the game. it's like the developers felt sad nobody uses lures/flares or medic drone for everyday use - aha - now we will make a mission that almost pretty much forces you to call on these tactics if you want to beat it.
Im done with this mission
Sam is getting stuck on the computer somehow
Great instructions thank you! Trying it on Tier 1, it's a lot tougher that way
I encounter this mission after completing story mode
and I'm done with uninstalling 🤣
21 times. I’ve done this mission 28 times and failed all 36 times. Hopefully now on my 47th try…. Aaaaand I’m dead.
I have a problem, I have lost all rebel support? How do I re unkock??
"Nomad, this is Matchwood. I'm in position. Here are my coordinates."
Matchwood, this is Preston. There is a Settlement that needs your help. I'll mark it on your map.
i have been trying to do this for a week and i still cant find a way to escape after the hack
Me too
Good moves man. Worked like a charm.
Good job,Mr. Penguin!
Best regards from Germany :)
Yavz75 nice! I’m glad I could help.
Don't be seen, don't be heard, don't drop no body... sicko evil mission.
I've been stuck on this mission for 4 hours now and this helped but when the helicopters came that's when I kept dying
Edit: still stuck the helicopters keep killing me with the missiles
still stuck?
Ik im a year late but every helicopter is a one shot with the hti sniper rifle (unsupressed of course)
@@doktorsljukex4174 thank you... I've already completed it but I decided to replay the game and I gave up on this level again lol
@@Mal6.4 and i would take an lmg because it has high ammo capacity
I just use photo mode to look around if there’s a jammer
Photo mode is under-appreciated - I made a video to show just how wonderful it is...th-cam.com/video/QopDKnK3034/w-d-xo.html
Been stuck in the stage for weeks, unable to fight all the unidad soldiers
I don't have those guns your using
How do I get them
I've been gaming since I was in kindergarten I am 36 and this is one of the top 3 most God awful experiences I've ever had with a boss/mission absolutely terrible! Again awful awful mission but great guide, I hope whoever designed this mission was fired
nope his back on breakpoint 🤭
@@emperor.of.west21 Lol I heard breakpoint sucked big time I almost bought it when it was on sale last month but decided not to after seeing reviews
Exactly what I did, this mission LITTERLY nearly drove me to absolute madness
Dope needed this thanks
Great video, thanks for sharing :)
Thanks for this video! I am confused, however. There are 3 entrances, not just one. Behind him, in front of him, and the stairs, so I am confused what you mean you perched by the crates and said that was the only entrance? Is this a glitch in the game?
Why not just parachute in? It makes the infil a complete non-issue
that said though i'm watching the whole thing for other good tips. thank you.
Good question. A few reasons why not:
@@PenguinOverlord fair enough
Not everyone is coming over to the base with a heli
Thank you SO MUCH!!! I did a shitty version of your tactics since Im on playstation, the controls are not as tight as on pc, but it worked and finally after wasting several hours on this mission, I am moving on, fuck Ubisoft for this mission and the buggy game, but tnks for bringing back Sam Fisher, and Thank you for this tactics! 🖖
It seems you need to have all the skills and upgraded to do this, rebels max drone max tooo
Yep. This mission should be considered an end-game challenge (it was added in Year 2 of Wildland's life cycle.)
nice video bro, i did this mission with tier on, what a pain, lol
took me some time to complete. but finally, mission accomplished! xD
May I ask please what the laser is on the assault rifle please? You make the game look so easy, and I know it's not. Big thanks 🤩
It’s the ATPIAL laser iirc
Just knowing that one hiding spot changed everything I actually git it dine first try after failing so many times
After 50 tries I finally beat it on normal
I am like level 15,and getting ma ass smoked every time. And I have yet to gain access. Frustrating. Damn. I just subscribed. Great videos.
Thank penguinlord
I figured out you camp up there with Fischer and then you call in rebels and then you tell your team to go with you and then you stay up there til there are no more helicopters then you exfil.
It took me less than 2 min to infiltrate the base without spotting anyone and went out quite easily.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!!
along with Rebel Diversion you are using there at the end, you can use flare guns - honestly flare gun will pull them all away for about twenty, thirty seconds to help open up a safe exit passage corridor.
Amytime I try to shoot out the generator, it explodes, and I instantly fail the mission. Could I be hitting it in the wrong place?
If I delete the game file, will I lose all of my upgrades?
Ur a literal legend my guy
is this mission like limited time. like if I go off and do a different mission will I lose it?
if I take off tier mode do I lose what I have upgraded already? or when I turn it back on will I pick back up at tier 30 where I left off?
No, whatever you have upgraded is upgraded permanently. You can turn Tier mode on and off without losing your upgrades.
Use synq shot as soon as it's up again on 3 random enemies.
30:30. Who are they referring to? Army infiltration guy?
It’s a Solid Snake reference.
Infil begins @ 9:55
You're welcome.
How did you took down the generator
Where is the generator for the drone
Ty just buyed THE game for 1week Ago i never could finish THE Sam mission ty this helpt im a big splinter cell gamer like sneaky game used play alot splinter cell i wish there was splinter cell for ps4
I tried to get him out of there and I had time countdown !!!!
thanks for the instruction but how tf am i supposed to get a semi auto 50 cal without spending money :/
The HTI works fine too, the BFG-50A is just convenient due to it being semi-auto.
Any tips for this mission ?
Take a deep breath and prepare to scream: "FUCK!" a lot.
I found the mission spot but the 3 dots dont show up
It has to be at nighttime (2100 to 330 iirc)
The key thing that I didn't have that you helped me with was positioning, which is key for part of the mission. I didn't fire one shot for this mission. All that being said I hated this mission
Can't understand why you weren't allowed to slot anyone on you way in when the very next bit you were dropping them on you way out
Thank you man!
I got spotted by a sniper when I was underneath the tower, that’s when i knew this mission was about to be bullshit
Theres no cover when the try to kill you, no support because if you bring your squad they get detected, sam doesnt even help when he's done and there no checkpoints, im quite fustrated lol
Man, more than 1 hour wasted just for this mission.
great do have any thing on how to record with a drone >
