This is so helpful thank you I wish it still cost $60.. haha
FINALLY SOMEONE USING A CORNER CLAMP
I appreciate you watching 👀
Thank you. Exactly what I was looking for. Straight, forward, easy going and no-nonsense. Come for the build, stay for Theodore!
🤜💥🤛
Nice build sir! Would love to see it painted with the enamel, never thought of using it before as a water proofer... makes perfect sense though!
Here is a video of it done ...Thanks for watching ...Take Care & Stay Wild!!!! th-cam.com/video/qzJPtY8bVJA/w-d-xo.html
Wow 1st video that really helped me out on making your own enclosure. Every video on youtube was no where near helpful but this 1 taught me so much... it's a matter of executing it but I gave it a like so I can go back to it later... the cost is cheap but i know i have to buy some tools that i dont have so it'll be a little more but tools are always a great investment.. again thank you for this vid
That's awesome thanks for watching!!!
What a great helper you have! Also helped me out with the front of my build haha
Awesome thanks for watching!!!!
Awesome video, hope to see more build videos soon! Especially with Theodore.
He is amazing hes a great helper ...Thanks for watching !!!
You are a lovely person. Thanks for the vid! 🥰
Thanks for watching 👀
Great build good work
Thanks for watching!!!
Late to commenting on this but the list of stuff I have for building mine is a little bit different as far as the door. I decided that since I want to be able to see inside fully I'm using some 18"x24" sheets of 0.093" acrylic for the doors and they'll be on hinges so they open like cabinets
Thats awesome...I appreciate the comment 🤜💥🤛
I like your enclosure build!! I want to follow your steps with different dimension.....6x3x3
Is it possible you could help with dimensions needed as you have listed??
I'm not gonna build anything but this is so interesting
Can i have a list of tools you are using? Please? Im pretty handy with this kinda stuff so I wanna try it. But have no clue what some of the tools youre using are? Thankyou so much love!
It’s a great build but only things I would change is I’d use two acrylics for the doors, and I would use the two screens that you did for the top so you could put the lights on it
Im gonna finish getting 2 more ball pythons i want and then im gonna get a baby boa constrictor and I'll start working on this I definitely need like a water resistant coat cause they need high humidity but that'll be in like. Ayear so nvm 😂
Nice build I wish I had someone close to where I lived that could build things like this for me cause I would have all kinds dragons but don’t enamel paint got toxins in for lizards and reptiles? It also be nice guniea pig cage way u made that
Thanks for watching and commenting... After the paint cures it's fine ..And yeah you could use this enclosure for lots of different critters
What a cute cat
Thanks he loves it out in the shop ...Thanks for watching..Take Care & Stay Wild & SAFE!!!!
When do you need a centerbracing vs not needing one? Im about to build a 3 x 1.5 x 2, and then later on a 5 x 1.5 x 2.5, just wondering if ill need bracings for those; rather have one open screen in the front rather than a brace in the middle if possible
Great vid, thanks!
Just to add, I wouldnt mind bracing the back, but trying to see if i can avoid bracing the front
You should be fine just brace top , bottom & back in the middle..But nothing is for sure until its done ..Thanks for commenting and happy building 😀
MY ANIMAL HOUSE thanks so much for the reply! One more Q if that’s alright...
What’s the different between going this route and just screwing some 5-6 sheets of wood together to make a box?
I’m guessing this is much much sturdier and can hold its own weight, but would half inch sheets of wood screwed together fall apart if it was lifted with a fully stocked enclosure?
@@wannak00kie You can build this 100s of way I'm sure ... The frame work does make it stronger (Its a fault of mine sometimes I over do it cause I hate building something twice ) lol ...Just have fun & build a killer enclosure
Amazing build! Where did you get your supply's?
Lowes and Home Depot ..Thanks for watching!!!
Do you have a pvc enclosure also? Do you see any differences and do you prefer the wooden one? Want to build my own enclosure but not sure if I want to go with pvc or wood.
PVC all day..it just cost more for the PVC ...Thanks for watching...Take Care & Stay Wild!!!
Awesome thank you!
Good video, haven't made an enclosire in a while, but making my initial for my hatching asian water monitor lizard at 4x2x2 so was a good refresher. Wonder how the pvc holds up with high heat??? I have to have a Basking spot with temp of 130°
you look like you could be related to Shawn Michaels!
I know this is late but how do you install lights and light fixtures such as a uvb placement or basking bulb?
It depends on the lighting you could mount them inside or maybe cut a hole and screen over it and put the lights on top it just depends...Thanks for watching 👀
What kind of reptile is this intended for? Screen front doors won't hold much heat.
Bearded dragons need good air flow as do many other reptiles most pvc enclosures have screen tops
Almost lost me at the cat part! Good build & very helpful instructions though. Although I'll probably look at using plywood since it's less splintery
Hi what do u use to make your cuts
I'd like to know how to make this, but with glass doors and the chicken wire on top for light and a heat lamp....
Me too
This is awesome!! So thorough. Where did you purchase those magnetic bowls?! They'd make amazing fathers day gifts
Aldi have them
Great video just wanted to ask would osb be safe for reptiles? With a safe sealant ofcourse
Should be fine ...Thanks for watching 👀
@@MYANIMALHOUSE thanks!
Love this! Just bought all the supplies to build one for our dragon. We just have one question. What are the machine screws and washers used for?? Did not see them used in the video.
Thanks for watching..I used them to hang the door
Thank you so much@@MYANIMALHOUSE
How much would you charge to build and ship one ?
I need a list of everything I need please 😂
Where would I get these supplies I live in Australia
i keep coming to this video just to say whats up to Theodore everytime he shows up lol
Thats awesome 🤜 💥 🤛
@@MYANIMALHOUSE can you tell him I said “pst pst pst pst” and scratch his ears for me the next time he shows up!
@@justingonzales5155 For sure
Wouldn't that be too flammable to use heating mats and the light setups that reptiles require?
Even a hot spot for a Monitor wouldn't be hot enough to set something on fire
Wouldn’t it mold tho
What is the gallon size of enclosure and would like to sturdy screen on top for lights on the outside plus’s glass front doors can u give me info to do that
Not sure in gallons ..Over 100 gallons I'm sure ...I can't help much with the rest..But it shouldn't be hard to change the design alil ...Thanks for watching 👀
A 4'x2'x2' enclosure is equivalent to about 120 gallons :)
Want to back to be board but I want the sides glass and front to have openings doors
That's fucking awesome. I'm going to do one with plexiglass for my ball python. I'm going to use melamine instead of osb.
🤜💥🤛
For a BP, would a radiant heat panel be enough to heat the warm side of the enclosure? The heat panel goes on top right? I'm used to heat mats.
@@woodensquid560 I'm not sure I have never used top heat for a BP only Bottom or side heat ...I built this for a Bearded Dragon
Sounds good, thanks for replying
I wish you have put all the dimensions in the description and it's this good for ball python
Can you show how you put heat and uvb fittings in?
With the heat and light you just have adapt them in where you need them ...to many light and heating options to be of much help threw the comments
@@MYANIMALHOUSE thanks
@@MYANIMALHOUSE what kind of thing would you use you keeep a fitting in
All depends on the size light and fixtures & on what kind of animal your keep ... just adapt things to your needs
@@MYANIMALHOUSE I see that but what I’m asking is how would you keep a fitting in place
id be putting close to 200lbs on this u think it'll hold?
ha does liking my comment mean its just a funny idea?
Only rare morphs of reptiles it seems have more expensive self prices than the setups.
Terrariums are overpriced.
What would you say the total cost to make this was?
Right around $60
Can you please list tools you used
Everything is in the video
My only issue is all the screen. Youll be fighting humidity daily. Id use pvc for the doors.
Well it was made for a Bearded Dragon and you can't make anything close to 60 bucks using PVC
@@MYANIMALHOUSE lol. Point taken. I'm a ball guy, and humidity is always an issue. Hate screen. Pvc lasts longer, is lighter, easier to clean, but ya, def costs more. But you're more handy than me, buy 4*8 pvc sheets and make the same thing. Probably not necessary for a beardie but def not my area. U can get cheap plexiglass for the doors. I'm older now and disabled. I want light enclosures I can pick up with one hand and wash with a hose. That's said big props for giving ur little buddy a good size enclosure!! I hate that sticking snakes into drawers has become the defacto way
Instead of scrolling through 4 years of msgs, what type of wood are you using for your frame?
Looks like pine which is toxic to snakes. Do they still outgas through a waterproofing layer is a question I would have.
Just the framing boards are 60$ now a days lol
If your just going to mumble the whole time, you might as well just make it a time lapse.
Thanks for the support 🙏
60$ 2yrs ago prolly 200$ now lol
Lol
I tried this and absolutely screwed it up wasted about $100 💀
Sorry to hear that
@@MYANIMALHOUSE I did not screw it up in the long run, enclosure is great but a little pieces together
Your audio* sucks I can’t hear a word your saying unless I turn it up if I turn it up your tools blowout my ears (corrected)
Thanks for watching !!!!
Ok my comment was short cause I was getting into my car and you took that kind of hard so let me clarify. The build was good but your audio sucked. At the beginning I can hear you just fine but when you start working I cannot hear you, if I turn it up to hear you the power tools and clanking of your speed square and other tools is ear piercing. So what ever measurements or tips your trying to give are lost. You can dislike my videos all you like it’s not going to fix your audio problem. Try an ear piece they have noise cancellation that’s what I use.
@@johnwhite9764 Well that video i made along time in the beginning of my youtube journey...And I have learned alot sense I did this video...But whatever no need for you to be an asshole ..Shit I have more views on that video then all 4 years of your TH-cam videos so its clear who sux ..Thanks for commenting
Its all dude...Take Care & Stay Wild!!
Sound like you nees you're hearing check i can hear him just fine
