We stopped using after three orders in a row, the bugs they shipped us were spilled out of the containers.. the final order we got left on the porch in a USPS tray because the larvae were both spilling out of the container inside the box.. and the box itself. Actually had a short discussion with the owner on Facebook and he said he'd "look into it" and we never heard back.

You're either an idiot or a shill. Looking at the price for this setup on the Dubia website, your definition of affordable and mine are VERY different. Price as build here is around $500-$600 depending on what backgrounds you add. This is nowhere near affordable for most people.

Our rescue switched out all of our glass enclosures to these. They are lightweight and easy to clean, and I love that they stack easily. Had a few of the Zen Habitats, and they don't compare to how sturdy the Reptile Habitats ones are. And for the price, I'm pretty happy about that. Each enclosure comes with its own mallet though, and my husband and I are laughing at how many mallets we have now!

Dubia donates to rescues, we have a partnership with them. I also bought them with my personal money. I do this for free and still work full time in tech so I fund a lot of the rescue out of my own pocket. When you have heavy glass enclosures vs light pvc stackable that save a ton of space to have more enclosures, makes sense to switch them out.

I have 8 of these enclosures now; so I have some feedback about them. I've shared this info with the company but also would like to share it here for people. Generally it's positive but there are a few quirks I think people need to be aware of.
    Materials:
overall the build quality is excellent, everything fits together quite well, overall solid choices (aluminum, pvc, acrylic) for a good sized economical enclosure all around. Assembly is quick and they provide the a mallet that works perfectly to get the job done. You could probably even silicon the edges/seams up to make it a pretty moisture friendly habitat.
    Features:
mesh top, cable pass through on the walls, sturdy mesh top - all fantastic (I really wish I could buy those cable pass through ports separately!), and the packaging? Yes that's a feature - excellent packing and shipping.
    Doors:
The integrated tracks are nice, but the thin nature of material needed to fit the tracks means the acrylic is VERY flexible - so much so that you can easily push your finger between the panels at the midpoint. This isn't really a concern for something like most lizards that don't climb on plastic, but for snakes it's a disaster. ANY snake is going to find that mid point in the doors with only basic exploration and then shove their nose in it - instant escape.
I had written to them about this and to their credit they DID release an addon for glass doors (although at a $90 price point if I recall), but the doors still fit in that very thin track - meaning I would imagine the glass to be very fragile. Perhaps not something a snake would break easily, but bumping it on your own could lead to disaster quickly. I did a similar mod on my own at home with plastic sliding track, double sided tape, and 1/4" custom cut glass from a local shop. Both pieces of glass were only ~$45 and the track was ~$10 - it works fabulously and these habitats house my snakes in comfort and peace of mind. I feel this is something that dubia should modify their enclosures to be the new standard (wider track, thicker glass), or at least reduce the price of the glass panels they are having as an add-on.
    Stacking/floor panel:
One of the reasons I got a bunch of these habitats is because they stack - the corner cube is a very neat idea! The problem becomes apparent as soon as you stack them though: the PVC used as the floor sags even under its own weight, and adding any amount of substrate, decor, and then the animal exaggerates this issue. It's not enough sag to pull the piece from the frame, or to actually hit the lower enclosure - but the droop is pronounced enough that things settle towards the middle of the habitat. I worked around this by using a 1" wood cross brace to help support the flooring of the stacked habitats. If you're only using one of these, it's perfectly fine.
I have not seen any design changes or response to this feedback from the company, again it would require a modification to the frame to allow for thicker PVC and honestly I don't know if that would really do much because PVC is by default flexible. Perhaps dividing the floor panel into 2 or 3 smaller pieces, with cross pieces of aluminum in the frame to provide rigid support - but who knows what they could do and keep the excellent price point and rapid production (which is very much needed in the hobby). Again it's a feature that is really only relevant to some, so the drive to make it a standard is not a critical one.
I'm not trying to neg on their work or the habitat itself by any means; like I said I have eight of these habitats and at this time The majority of them house snakes of a size and curious nature to be somewhat determined escape artists (2 MBK's, 2 rat snakes, a black pine snake) and they frequently search along the door edges like I would expect. For the others (a BTS, baby black roughneck monitor) the habitat is perfectly serviceable as-is. I still have one more 4x2x2 in a box that I'm deciding what I want to do with it.
To sum up - this is an EXCELLENT habitat for the price point, with the caveat that if people want to house certain animals in them (IE snakes) or take full advantage of them (IE stacking) then there are certain considerations to keep in mind when purchasing.

I just put one of these together, with glass doors, and they seem quite decent. This is for my daughter's baby tegu, which will be en route to us soon. She also got the base cabinet for it, and it DOES have that extra support - two metal bars across the top that fit into the rails. It has corner pegs to keep the enclosure stable, too.
Like Cliff mentions, it comes with a two ended rubber hammer, which is appreciated, and I ended up with two since the base did too. I try to do a bit of woodworking, so mom gets to keep those handy little hammers!

I love that the whole structure is so lightweight compared to any other material, and it can all be disassembled and easily transported if you have to move. The quality, price, and ease of assembly make an unbeatable combination. I wish I had seen this video before I put mine together, though, because I originally assembled it without realizing there was plastic on the PVC panels. The instructions didn't mention anything about it, so I just thought the panels were weirdly reflective and slightly damaged. I was a lot happier about the whole thing after figuring out they just had film that needed to be removed. All that is to say: The work you put in filming and talking about the plastic removal in this video was not in vain! It would definitely have helped me. Thanks for this!

Hey Clint, I notice that peeling anything off anything, it is usually easier to peel it diagonally rather than straight across. I don't know why it is easier, but it is. It of course can get awkward with such large pieces of acrylic, but it might be easier next time. Just something to try in the future.
This also works peeling labels off glass jars and all peeling situations you may come to in life. (except peeling fruits and veggies of course.)

When they first got these in stock and texted me that they were in, I ordered one immediately. Got it together for my small Burm, then immediately ordered another to have when needed. This is a very basic enclosure, being that, you have to add all the furniture, backdrop, caulking etc. which is exactly what I needed to customize myself. Impressively strong, once assembled. Note: definitely use a lock for the sliding glass. My sweet Burmadette figured out how to open it 😂

But seriously, I'm not buying the wallet, it ain't my style. I do however love this channel and think Clint is Stinkin' Rad! He got to become my dream as a child and he looks to really enjoy it. If people would not be so locked in on a smaller enclosure I think they would see more benefits in this size for a leopard gecko with so much more to explore and use! Add led plus a uvb and deep heat projector with slate hides and coverage and trust me the difference in their behavior is amazing!!

I also would love to request an in depth video on feeding bearded dragons. I can barely find anything on feeding schedules online to have an idea of what a normal week of feeding is like. This is a late comment, but I wanted to comment on the piping that you said didn't fit into the track. There might be 2 reasons that it was enclosed. The piping came off the short of door. If you want to make one of the doors a fix door sliding the piping halfway on may allow it to be slid into position. The second reason might be to close the gap between both panels if small or baby critters that might be able fit in between them.

@@ClintsReptiles Unfortunate that you don't consider these educational videos. I have always looked to you to learn more about the hobby and what products to use (i.e. Enclosures, Feeders, How to set up Terrariums) as good guides.
But I guess Dinosaurs videos are much more educational in this day and age, and far more relevant to our hobby.
Like you said, in the end it is about views. I don't blame you, as a youtuber, that is your end game. But just sad to see you thinking that this video is less educational than a tiny t-rex video for our hobby.

To be honest with you, I have no plans to discontinue pet videos any time in the near future. That said, the pet hobby is not my passion. My passion is animals. All of them. Not just the ones you keep as pets. All of them. Since the beginning of this channel I have attempted to branch out so that we can talk about more than pets. I didn't get a PhD to be a pet tuber. I can't justify abandoning my career as a biologist to talk exclusively about pets. I would rather be a biologist. That said, in the last year almost none of our most popular videos have been about pets. We have finally broken into something that is more in line with what I want to do forever. Yes, that might mean that I do less pet stuff, but it also means that I would enthusiastically do this for the rest of my life. I'm really excited about this. Comments like yours make me feel less excited to continue down this path.

Built my first one on a padded carpet floor and it seemed to want to bounce itself apart when I’d whack it with the hammer. Hard to getthe corners butted up tight. Used a hard surface on my second one and it’s easier.

Ive heard of rattlesnakes living as high as 9000 ft so I dont think it'll be an issue since they will still be kept at the same temps. and reptiles have much lower oxygen requirements than mammals.
