The “people of the book” means everyone who followed the religions of Judaism and Christianity during that time, which means the entirety of the Mediterranean region. And given that Islam actually started in the Petra part of Jordon and not in Saudi, so near the Levant region of the Mediterranean, Mo was absolutely surrounded by the people of the book, as there was no way for him to appropriate and spin their texts if they weren’t around him, and the word “ummi” that they do taqiya to say means “illiterate”, actually means GENTILE! So it didn’t just mean the “Aramaic people”. But it absolutely doesn’t meant the ethnic Arabs, yes.

Jews say a special prayer called the Kaddish for their parents and other loved ones when they pass. This is done for 11 months because the wickedest person in the world goes to Gehenna for no more than 12 months.
Therefore Jews say the prayer for 11 months to cover their parent but say they’re not the worst person ever.
Gehenna is a place of purification. Jews do believe in the afterlife.

They are both the route through which salvation came ( a blessing ) and the route through which evil is drawn out to its ultimate defeat (a burden) The Jews are literally Gods red rag to the devil & my God that’s not a role to be envied. As a ChristIan it’s my job to stand beside, even in front, of my Jewish kin in sympathy, gratitude & love for this burden they carry for all our sakes. 🙏

The Knights Templar came into existence to protect Christian pilgrims trying to visit the Holy Land from harassment, theft and murder by Muslims. They eventually became wealthy and had loaned vast amounts of money to the king of France. He didn't want to pay them back and made up the heretic lies as an excuse to outlaw them. The persecutions started on Friday the 13th, which is why this date is considered unlucky. The king (Philip the Second I think) did imprison, torture and execute many Knights Templar, but some also escaped with their wealth, which is a mystery to this day.

31:00 Jews didn't believe in an after-life. The Jewish belief of death was that every dead person goes to 'She'ol', what can be translated as 'Oblivion'. But that once God will find humanity is fitting enough the dead will rise and God will open the path and the gates to the garden of Eden.
If you read the Old Testament, you can find passages saying where the garden lies. That it is between 3 rivers. (Two of which are known but the third isn't.)
Later on, the Jews started taking in the Christian view of death. Afterlife Heaven and hell, etc.
Though in Hebrew the word for heaven is still 'Garden of Eden', while the word for hell is 'Gehinnom' which is most likely because the previous word; 'She'ol' does also hint at being a place (the underworld). Other than that, Jews believed that good people get rewarded in life while bad people get punished in life. Life itself has the highest regards in Judaism, not many Jews even think much about the afterlife unless they're in mourning.
Also, The Jewish belief of them being the chosen people, isn't a belief that means that Jews are better than anyone, it's a belief that Jews are chosen to rectify the sins of all nations. No other nation is required to rectify sins of anyone other than themselves. And if they do, they are blessed ten-fold. But Jews are chosen by God to, in their eyes, fix the world.

      @JudithYD 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

I am not sure where you are getting that Jews did not believe in an afterlife. We always believed in an afterlife. In the Torah, caret (being cut off) is a punishment which means that one loses one's afterlife and that there is nothing after death. We say kaddish because we believe in the soul's journey after death to the next world.

    • @sumoslamer180
      @sumoslamer180 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@JudithYD The Torah has no actual mention of an afterlife. The first mentions of an afterlife come from the time of the second temple. Some Jewish theologians believe that the reason for this is because of the Exodus to and from Egypt. Where death and the afterlife is so sanctimonious that they built great temples of death, the pyramids, and their holiest text was the book of the dead. And so, to differentiate from them and other religions, the Israelites of the time focused their faith in this world and the sanctity of life.
That is why the belief that the coming of the mashiach (messiah) will bring forth mass resurrection of the dead. Where the good and faithful will have everlasting life, and the wicked will exist in perpetual abhorrence.
The 'Kaddish' is a 'Hallachah' made in the time of the 'Talmud'. Which is well after the time of the second temple and the surfacing belief in an afterlife. But even now, Rabbis around the world believe that the Kaddish's purpose is to keep the soul in good awareness in the next world for the time of the messiah and the resurrection on this world so they might walk through the gates of the Gan Eden (Garden of Eden).
Judaism has a lot of different sects. Some believe in an afterlife and its rewards and punishments, more akin to Christian beliefs. Some are more traditional and believe in rewards and punishment in this world alone. Almost all of them agree that this world is a gift from God and that this gift shouldn't be thrown or taken away lightly.

Regarding before and after the Exodus - the Jews as a nation really became Jews when they accepted the Torah on Mount Sinai, which was after the Exodus so the question of what they believed before is moot.

@@JudithYD Sure, but there is an evolution to the belief system. It didn't start as it is now. You might believe in an afterlife and a lot of Jews do. But as a believing/practicing Jew, do you not also believe in the resurrection of the dead?
If you do, then that means that even as a modern Jew of the 21st century you believe that this world is of the highest value. Not the next world, but this one. Otherwise, why would anyone want to be Resurrected here?

    Some basic info about MITZVOT:
According to Jewish tradition, we are supposed to follow 613 commandments (mitzvot), out of which 365 (councides with the number of days in the solar year) are things you should ABSTAIN from doing, and 248 (coincides with the number of bones and main organs in the human body) are commandments of actions you need to take.
Not all commandments can be performed by any one individual, because some can only be observed ate the Temple in Jerusalem, which no longer exists.
Today it is said that there are 194 + 77 commandments, out of which 26 are soecific to the land of Israel.
Some of them can only be performed by Kohanim (high priests), and some are either men or women specific.

Not sure if you guys ever noticed but in Quran 10:94, Muhammad is told to go to the jewish scriptures if he’s in doubt about anything, because he needed further clarification for him to copy and paste a vague and less detailed version of Judaism. Rabbi Jacobson found a biblical verse that exactly matches what I was saying prior. I think like prophets did. That's reassuring.
I said: If religion (politics, or sports) becomes the source of conflict, it's time to stop. When someone gets hurt, it's time to put all those role plays on the side and return to our most humane fundamentals. I said humane, right.
Rabbi Jacobson says the bible tells that if religion becomes the cause of conflict, a source of violence, then God asks to put his name aside so to end the cause of conflict.
My say is, if faith leads to violence, then the faith is wrongly performed and is shameful to God.

The original Arabic script was of northern-type, and inadequate, even consonants not fully specified, one symbol matching to multiple ones, and the vowels missing. So they seem to have made at least a smattering of significant errors. Houris were probably originally grapes, since those passages are connected with St Ephrem's poetry. But aziz is nearly the same as uzair, and means praised or something, so would make sense in Surah 9 as aziz not uzair. A scribal error seems likely.

Part of what made the Irish Troubles so messy was that both sides were using civilian facilities such as schools, apartment buildings and hospitals as military bases. The Irish had little choice, because that's where they lived, but what is left out of most historical accounts is that the British Army were doing it as well!
But I am old enough to remember the photos that were published by the British Press at the time, of British Soldiers taking over half a school. The only thing separating the school students (Primary/Elementary age) from the British Soldiers and their barracks and facilities was a wall of sandbags!!!
Of course, that didn't help the children much when that facility was inevitably attacked, but the British were randomly attacking Irish civilian facilities as well (such as markets and theatres), which led to deaths and injuries of people who had nothing whatsoever to do with the Conflict!
And if you think the family of the Irish Granny randomly k1lled by British Soldiers wanted to have good, forgiving feelings towards the British, reasoning that it was all just a terrible mistake, you're so, so, sorely mistaken...
War is messy and there's just no getting around it...

@@BoleDaPole I personally don't have a problem with the English, as long as they stay in England. But their presence in all parts of the Gaelteacht, since the days of Edward Longshanks, has been an unmitigated disaster, for the locals!
The difference between the Palestinians and the Gaels is this...
The Gaels have not sworn to utterly annihilate the English, wipe their memory from the Earth and push them forever into the Sea, and they have no reason to do so.
When the English left the South, the Irish who lived there did not plot and plan and scheme and dig tunnels and mutter about how they were going to m*rder every single last Englishman and wipe them of the face of God's Earth! Instead, they set about building their country into a prosperous economy, and that's exactly what it became!
As for the folks in the North, they continued to fight their occupation, but their goal was not English Annihilation, it was simply "Brits Out!"
I believe if the Palestinians had used the resources (such as concrete, rebar, other building supplies and over 10 years free electricity and water) to build their own economy instead of blowing up Israeli shopping centres on Israeli territory, they would have a prosperous economy by now, no walls, no checkpoints and NO WAR!!!
      But no.
Instead they used those resources to build the mother of all bunker networks and stockpile xpl0sves and @mm0, and sent women with b*mbs strapped to them to checkpoints so that the whole place would be shut down and sanctioned, which destroyed the economy and made the locals desperate.
I also think it was wrong for the RA to have b*mbed London back in the day, BTW. This was a hugely counterproductive move and I believe (long term) was one thing that led to the RA failing to evict the English from the North.
Since then, S1nn Fe1n and the RA have been utterly co-opted by the King, he and that woman of his built a memorial to Eva Gore Booth and somehow, that made everything OK.
Meanwhile, S1nn Fe1n have been utterly useless in preventing the mass immigration of foreigners into Ireland, actively mandated for Compulsory Deadly Jabs and have done many other such harmful things to their OWN PEOPLE!!!
So, in short, although a lot of people love to compare the Palestinians to the RA, there are significant differences and unless these are taken into account, I don't think the two situations can be compared on anything more than a superficial level.
