The idea that a person who grew up with nothing has no reason to resent rich people is naive af. It doesn’t take long being around rich people to start understanding that the majority were pretty much handed their opulent lifestyles on a silver platter. Combine that with the fact that almost no one gets really rich by helping those less fortunate than themselves and the fact that many of the cultural markers of poverty are typically looked down on. Easy to develop some strong feelings about that.
