idk if this is true on the higher difficulties but in the base hl1 if you had all 5 C4, you can place them all in a concentrated bundle and blow him up, pretty easily. I remember doing this in xen.
@@constanze2008 huh?, Isn't this after the tram sections? towards the end of the game right, where the military are fully pulling out, by the way I am talking about half life 1 not Black Mesa. You get the C4s way beforehand in the tram levels right?
store.steampowered.com/app/362890/Black_Mesa/ is how I did this, and it's gorgeous. I think I've played straight through at least 5 times? Plus not only is it a good recreation, the Xen and later levels are FULLY redone and sooooo much better. It really brings the narrative to a climax in a way that I haven't seen in many other games.
The airstrike also works on the Gargantua in the original, but I guess that's less interesting because they aren't immune to regular weapons in the original either.
It's actually because this guys that the military was unprepared for the combine, a shit ton of portals started to open all over the world bringing in a lot of alien super fauna and while the worlds militares were distracted fighting that war the combine came over
@@manfredschultz9619Humanity was fighting the xenians *and* the combine at the same time. It was a losing battle for humanity, and they figured surrendering to a force more capable of dealing with the Xen portals was better than getting mopped by both alien factions.

@@tatotaytoman5934 i say there is no c4 in power up in black mesa, and you need to get the c4's only in on a rail
It always bugged me that it’s more like artillery than an air strike

This is pretty clean, never thought about playing the original HL on newer hardware. Wish there was some way to smooth out curvatures

Yeah, the Xen looks beautiful compared to the original, it was like I was playing it for the first time.
This is Black Mesa

Fought so hard on these guys yet yielded so quickly against the Combine :x

Dude, this was done easily on the original Half LIfe from 1998! Too easy with an airstrike like that. Lol.

This battle seems way easier in Black Mesa. But I haven't played yet. But this did look easy.

Black mesa is a really cool mod, but the combat doesn't seem as punchy as the original, and they realllllly drag the chase scenes out.
yes plz drag them out
Not an airstrike
