I love how people who have heard but never been there comment as if they have a shred of understanding beyond their privileged bubble. The Nike factory in Vietnam and china have elevated many out of abject poverty. What are subjective morality says it’s wrong for kids to work, it’s more wrong for them to go hungry, shelter less and naked. Nice try hypocrite! I have been there! Ask the Vietnamese people what they think of the Nike factories.
Thanks! I am here to decide whether to keep my Metcon 7s or return them. I train barefoot with kettlebells. Is it safe and acceptable to use the TRX suspension trainer barefoot? Is it OK to jump, do burpees, or jump rope? I'm wondering whether to go full barefoot.
Im very new to weightlifting, but have worn metcons since the second version. I love them! When i recently started lifting, and looking into footwear, i started seeing the Metcon come up as a top lifting shoe and got excited. And this colorway absolutely blows me away, will definitely be getting these for the gym
@@chiron3719 Using the metcon's won't be a problem for short distance running, probably a good 5-10 minute warmup of running with them before weightlifting is just as fine.
@@chiron3719 if you’re still looking for some running shoes, I’d take a look on the New Balance or ASICS if you want to full dedicate to running either long distances or sprinting, if it’s just for running some few miles for exercise, Adidas has some good models as well
I have a knee injury due to squatting and training with converse, crocs, or even bare foot. I am flat footed and though I thought those shoes catered to my body type it actually set me back. I was told I required excellent support. I really wanna get this shoe. I hope the purchase is worth it and I am supported!
For me the metcon 7 are the first one of the series (owned the metcon 2 and 4 before) that have heal slip. They are very stable, but they do hurt when doing burpees because of the stabilisation on the inside where the metcon logo is. Also they are great for lifting because of the solid heal, but already when walking they clonk, because the mid- and backsole isn’t flexible at all. So personally, I find the metcon 4 a better overall shoe. However, for lifting the metcon 7 are best.
i actually just ordered my first pair yesterday. i’ve never been attracted to the metcons until i saw these. my old workout shoes have been around for 5ish years so definitely time for an upgrade. nice review & im excited to see how they feel!
Received mine , send 'em back straight away ! here is why : much less breathable than the 6 ( this is why yours smell ) mesh looks cheap and you can feel a second layer that will tear easily with your big toe . insole is ridiculously thin velcro on the tongue is so dumb : it damages the laces in non time and you really feel that pulling it again and again it will unstitch from the tongue . Outsole is very thin and weak with the react foam appearing ... too bad because in my colour way ( sail orange blue brown gum sole ) they really look good .
I tried these on and IMO they aren't as good for lifting as the Reebok Legacy Lifters. But those are purely for lifting. Even walking in them feels a little weird, running is a no go.
I saw the thumb nail for this video and thought. “Oh boy another shoe video 😩”. But I have to admit this was good. I will be buying these. You did it again you son of a gun. Must be the stache
The Metcon 6 sole/rubber is so hard that when you walk on cement or a wood floor it sounds like you’re wearing high heels. Hoping they fixed that with the 7. Anyone else experience this?
Does anyone remember the Nike Free Trainer 5.0 w/ the "fingertrap"? In my opinion.. this was Nike's best overall shoes for athletic performance. It's a shame they stopped production.
I’m currently using my old Free 5.0 at my Box. They are completely beaten up but they are indeed the most comfortable and light shoes I ever used for training.
I was working at a nike factory back then. I was in the purchasing department. Free was made with cheap materials so it was not that expensive when it comes to selling. Plus, shoes were broken easily
could you recomend a sho thats for lifting, but NOT for running or jumping? meaning 0 cushion and a los of stabilty? maybe one flatter than this, meaning less heal elevation. i've been using vans for a while, but i can tell they are not design for training
I have a set and I love them - they're incredibly stable yet still comfortable, and I love the look. The only thing I won't do in them is run. I suspect the reason for this is partially the hard plastic heel plate (red in the above pics) - it's rigid and goes way farther into the sole of the shoe than it needs to (IMO) - and partially the sidewall that wraps around the bottom of the shoe, which makes the sole really inflexible all the way up to the ball of your foot. I REALLY feel that when running - and not in a good way.
I need wide shoes like skateboarding shoes because my big toes get ingrown toe nails really easily. My whole life I wore skater shoes but this metcon series is wide enough to not cause my feet any problem. I dont wear other nikes but these are pretty wide.
Good to hear. I just bought these and was a bit hesitant as I spent a fair chunk on some Nike zoom things based on a moo farrah design a few years ago and they fell to bit within a month, in lock down when I couldn't leave the house much either. These ones are super comfortable and feel solid.
Good to know i was looking at zoom Pegasus i ended up with superrep 3 ironically i don't go to the gym I don't need to I'm a cyclist. Big muscles are the enemy for me, counterintuitive. Stamina and speed. Im not built for weightlifting anyway.
How high is the heel on these things? They look like maybe not the best shoe for strength training if you prefer a flat profile. I usually have to have 2 different pairs as I like a heel for back squats but flat for everything else.
Just got these and they are excellent for working out. Love the aesthetic and I think the numbers are a cool touch, however they're just stickers and some peel off. After a few workouts
Man I hope the are softer like you say my last metcons destroyed my knees doing double unders I went with the go Ruck trainers and I have no complaints but they getting worn out so maybe I’ll try these again
Are these good for flat feet and overpronation? I used the wrong shoe on the leg press a while back and hurt my knees and Achilles tendon, so I'd like to know if these would help.
I'm not rich. I'm looking for ONE pair of shoes to wear to the gym. I don't run long distances.. maybe a couple of miles a day. I see now they have react cushioning. Are these THE shoes to get?
Hey , Can you pls recommend me a shoe for lifting, cardio/sprint sessions which can also be used for daily walking without compromising on comfort. Given I have flat feet.
I had a pair of the Mat Fraser 7s and the rubber on the sole came off after about a month of wear (pretty low intensity exercise). Nike was super good about them returned them no questions asked, but I won’t be able to get the limited edition again though as they’re sold out.
How soft and comfortable are they compared to running trainers and weight lifting shoes. I prefer to train in running trainers as I find weight lifting shoes too hard and uncomfortable.
Ive never tried weightlifting shoes man but these are stiffer than normal running trainers however still very comfortable, i can tell that they arent as springy but barely less comfortable, i only start to notice how stiff it is after a good few hours of wearing
I have narrow and high arc feet , I do more HIIT then weight . Is Metcon suitable for me or can you recommend me a pair that can do burpee , cardio , HIIT. And light weight . Thank you 🙏
I've been using the Metcon 3's 4-5x per week for close to 3 years now and they still look basically new. Can confirm that they squeak a bit. But man, that color scheme is terribad. Do you also really like Easter candy?
I find the heel slippage to be way too high for me to keep these, sadly. Have to return them purely on that basis but the rest of the shoe seems fantastic.
I love these shoes for lifting and stable movements. They made my tendonitis in my achilles really unbearable though when Id Try to jump or run or walk longer distances.
Just bought superrep 3 which i love i bought them for wearing day to day for summer. Yeah the zoom units sqeak a bit at certain angles. I don't care about minor issues like that i used to its no way to live life. Nothing is perfect.
I’m a 208lb ER nurse that power lifts. Would you think these would be a good choice for 12.5-13 hour shifts? I put my own arch supports in my work shoes and the thin insole looks easily removable compared to the last few thick insoles
I really like my metcon 6s. Especially since they came with heel inserts to help in squatting. After squatting in converse, and then just plain metcon 6, the heel lift is really nice for squatting. Does the 7 come with that?
Do these sounds like you're wearing bricks on your feet when running on the treadmill with them? (And yes guys, I know these are for training and not running)
It's the small hands of the children that make them in the labor camps that really improve the feel.

Squatting bare feet is so underrated. Helps the foot muscles and stability so much. (In a garage gym not a commercial one obviously)

Not good for someone with collapsed arches (aka flat feet) and wide feet unfortunately. That interior rope guard is the issue.
You should tally up your category scores for your “coop score” which would allow you to better directly compare scores
