- SCP 2118 is a Safe Class anomaly also known as The Lost Child.
SCP-2118 is a human female child, with orange hair and light gray eyes. It has a scar on its right cheek, 9cm long, in the shape of an open parenthesis.
SCP2118 communicates primarily through ASL and occasionally through writing, though it is capable of producing coherent speech.
The anomalous properties of SCP-2118 manifest when it is exposed to a parent who has, at some point in their life, dealt with the death of their child. In these instances SCP-2118 begins to speak in a voice inconsistent with what its own should sound like, instead reflecting the age and gender of the aforementioned deceased child (hereafter referred to as SCP-2118-01) at time of death.
Typically the words and sounds SCP-2118 mimics are consistent with the final words/sounds of SCP-2118-01.

She is too young now but I am wondering, if she were to have a child of her own and the child was to die would she be able to channel him or her in a similar manner?
This is possibly one of the worst curses I’ve ever seen an SCP, who is otherwise an ordinary child, be afflicted with, and that’s saying something.

This scp story reminds me a movie about parents who lost their child, and how they learned to heal. One line from the film I remember distinctively was "...When a child loses their parents, they're called an Orphan. But what do you call parents who lost a child..?"

2118 is like reopening a wound, and depending on the individual, rubbing salt and squeezing lemons on it. It isn't intentionally harmful, but it is rather morbid to leave alone.
What it does do, however, is offer some degree of closure. Closure in regards to finding out how some children died for whatever reason. It's imitating the dead, but sometimes imitation is the best form of flattery.

That would make good sense. Sadly, some SCPs can become something much more deadlier, but it can never be their fault. Imagine if she was kidnapped by Serpent's Hand or killed off by the GoC just for being an anomaly.
I read the article and its basically done against her will. her anomalous properties manifest whenever theres a parent with a dead child near her, its like an allergy rather than a ability, it just happens are you can't really stop it.
Yeah but the problem with that is that her own parents also lost a child and since her anomalous capabilities happen without her control, it may cause her parents to abuse her (or unwittingly hurt herself like with the glue incident).
This would work, but she'd be in the public eye and they wouldn't know what random people she'd bump into- say, nieghbors, parents of friends her own age, etc. had lost a child. She'd have to hope she's only surrounded by single people who never, ever had experianced death of a child in their lives. ironically she seems to be the only child that could really benefit from some very staunch child-free adults to watch over and raise her so she could at least have a decent childhood to adulthood.
The video makes it seem that she can't control the talking at all. Like, if she was near someone who lost a child too young then she would start babbling and be unable to stop it.
Scp-2118 is another one of those sad SCPs, she's like scp-053 and scp-3663, she's an anomaly that never wanted to hurt anyone and never meant any harm to anyone.
053 has so much potential, she can be crossed test with so many dangerous anomalies. She is invincible after all, probably as durable as 682.

THis should really not be that hard. Review the files of the workers, check to see if they have children or deceased children, then if they have no children, update their file or give them a card that authorizes them to go into contact with her. Its so easy. Maybe they could bring her into contact with other SCPs her age, if they dont have disasterous abilities.

I really wish SCPs were real, and especially this one. I lost my brother to suicide back in February, he was off at college and was completely alone. When the police came and told us what happened, I asked them if he at least left a note, but he didn't. Nobody knows what his last words were, and SCP 2118 could really bring me some closure in that department.
You mightnot want to hear how they died in the process. Who knows, they might have not been able to say anything.
I do warn you. SCPs are contained not just for the world's protection but even for those contained in some cases.

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-2118 is currently contained in a standard humanoid holding cell observed at all times by standard motion-activated security cameras. Cell is to be furnished with appropriate furnishings for a █-year-old child, along with two stuffed animals (an orca whale and an elephant). SCP-2118 may go to an outdoor enclosure once a day, for a length not to exceed one hour between the hours of 0900 and 1700. SCP-2118 claims it received the scar several years ago when it was struck by a stranger on the street, but is reluctant to elaborate further.

It is uncertain, at this point, how SCP-2118 accurately mimics the sounds of drowning, asphyxiation, or the formation of blisters in the throat cavity. Of note is that SCP-2118's face maintains a look of contrition while said sounds are being mimicked, despite the occasionally violent nature of SCP-2118-01's death.

She needs to grow up before any use of her ability can be made, or she'll never want to use it at all. But even so, she shouldn't have to use it, period. Not even for testing. The one thing we can all take away from this is how important consent is. The SCPF may want to know more, but they need to wait until the girl will willingly help them know more.

I wanna go and give this SCP a hug, who wants to join, it is advised that those with deceased loved one who were under the age of 18 not come join because of their anomalous effects, also they seem to be slightly lonely so perhaps another child, preferably one already in containment who poses no danger can interact with them, or at the very least there be sessions were staff who do not meet the criteria interact with them, and getting off track again, who wants to come hug them?

They have no control over their abilities & feel truly sorry for all the trouble they cause, but there's nothing anyone can do to help them except keep them prisoner for their own & everyone else's safety. Look at how they use the D-Class people for all their crazy experiments. Yes, the D-Classers agree to participate, but they really aren't given a choice, & if one is killed or maimed or driven insane, oh well! They just terminate (murder) them if things go sideways & go on to the next one.
And look at how expendable even the SCPs are. They sent the Young Girl into the cage of their most dangerous SCP just to see what would happen, after gaining the girl's trust. And they sent that happy orange blobby thing - I forget it's number - into that same monster's cage for the same reason.

SCP-2118 It's a child theurgist mimic, it is a soul that can see the imprint of suffering by the pestilent sin of wrath on the mourning parents. This indicates the people that can be possessed by devils that might tempt them to do sacrifices or be misguided to bring their loved ones back, even thought is not possible but a deceit technique. In other words is a revealer of the wounds inflicted on the parents souls, it is a healer who needs to learn psychology and esoterism to get more in touch with the details of the lost souls. Now maybe her powers are more latent but with training it can discover many mysteries of the kidnappings, abuses and losings of many possessed individuals who dared to play with innocent lives while also indicating angry parents that didn't take care of their childs because something affected them to be unaware of their deeds. We've got a lost-souls detective there, the girl surely is an ascended master who might be well versed in finding the wounds and markings of dark entities on the souls of affected people. People are not, it is what happens to them and inflict suffering that they supressed and act on the wrath capital sin that exploits them, this until they cry and change their ways to commemorate and prevent further losses in the world. Train that girl's abilities, it will bring justice and healing on the parts of repression that posses so many people marked by the devil-beasts. She was most likely attacked to have that scar because the pestilence in that asaulting woman didn't liked to see it was spotted by a lost-soul detective. Protect that child at any cost, and people who are too curious on her might carry wounds they didn't healed so they want to imply harm without knowing the real reasons of the parasites that lurk in the back of their suffering minds. Another helper to be honored and learn herbalism to be sure.

So her parent lost a baby, the scp's sibling, and then she spoke like the baby? How did her mom know it was her baby's voice? Goo goo ga ga and crying that's sounds like a baby coming from an adolescent wouldn't cause me to connect the dots in that way. And if the scp spoke somewhat proper English then it's even more unlikely the mother would draw that conclusion.

Maybe she got agitated because she thought 2118 was mocking her dead sibling by sounding like her. Not necessarily speaking a language. She does seem to mimick the deceased child's last noises, not just spoken words.
@@Geheimnis-c2e I considered that. That's obviously what's implied in the story. But that alone wouldn't make me think that. I'd think it was crazy but since babies can't talk we can't confirm anything. With everyone else it at least spoke and gave more in terms of voice approximation and shared recollection. It goes back to what I said about dozen babies and their blind folded mother's. I'd think something crazy was going on but not a legitimate communication with the dead. Like there is such a thing. Especially from babies. What do they have to say about anything? That's what makes me think it's something else within that scp world. Perhaps something connected to other's minds through this scp for optimum tragic effect through mimicry. It's probably a writer's take on fraudulent mediums and the guilt they should have tricking people for a desired outcome instead of dealing with the reality of letting go. It's a fun scp though.

Fascinating, this child appears to be a type of spiritual medium a unique case in which she is more of channeling death egos. I don't mean to sound unsympathetic to her emotional status, but she could be an invaluable tool in cold murder cases involving children.
