      'PJ92' i really liked the review , having been a long time user of projectors , i really liked this setup , i think this is still the only way to watch big properly , lots of pro's i liked with this one , hisense sell a projector & screen package in my country which is very similar to this as far a tech goes which im constantly tempted by .😎

      This Laser project seems pretty good for gaming & SDR content. The ANSI lumen seems a little low for HDR movies. Debating between this and the AWOL 3500pro, if only the AWOL supported 4k120hz. The kickstarter price/early price is great! “PJ92”

      @Secondwind_TV Aurora pro only accepts 4k@120hz signal but still outputs at 4k60. If I'm not mistaken, this can also only do 120hz at 1080p. I don't think there's any UST at consumer level that can do 4k@120hz. Go for the Awol 3500 if u have the budget. Has real pure triple laser and more brightness. With the new firmware, Dolby Vision is now supported. I went with the ltv-3000 model (released just end of Sept) and don't regret it.

Deep deep blacks don't get covered up by a view of the kitchen or the backyard through sliding glass doors. PJ92 Great video! I would have loved to see the picture quality with it projected on a wall with the light off. ALR screens are pretty pricey and for us, getting both at the same time isn't really an option right now but we do want to upgrade our projector. surprisingly I cant find a video were someone projected on a wall though so thank you for that! definitely think this is what we will pick as our upgrade from our pj20. wish i knew about the kickstarter before it was too late though 😔

    Already backed the Kickstarter. Can't wait to get mine in hands. So excited. @GeekStreet I am going to be projecting in a pitch dark, batcave basement wall which is painted light grey matte, aiming for a 135 inch screen size. Now, I know these projectors are best with ALR screens but a good quality 135 inch screen is more expensive than the projector itself. Do you have any experience projecting USTs on a wall with absolutely no ambient light. PJ92.

      the problem is not the light level its the wall - they are NOT flat no matter how good your plasterer is. it needs a tensioned surface that is ultra flat or it looks horrific and ALR IS NECESSARY on a UST projector.

      I'm going on 9 years now with using a projector as my main living room screen and I still don't want to ever go back. The lack of glare and reflections has been life changing and I still get really great contrast despite not owning this ultra short throw projector in the video.
      Daylight viewing is the same as on any OLED TV.....you will be closing the blinds to keep the glare away from your super deep OLED blacks...you DO NOT have to turn lights off on a projector setup though. I can leave the living room AND kitchen lights on without having them show up in my image like they do on an OLED in a dark scene and they do not wash out the image to the point of barely being able to see what you are watching. You can see it clear, vivid, and crisp. OLED will look better, but you had better turn off any and all lighting in the house or it will show up in the way of your dark scene in a game/movie/show.

    “PJ92”. What are your thoughts between this and the new AWOL Vision LTV 3000? I did the pre-order for the AWOL, but wanted to get your opinion on which one you thought, looked and performed better. I’m not the biggest gamer, so the latency isn’t really a big deal for me. Thank you for the great reviews!

      @GeekStreet  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Difficult for me to comment on the AWOL projector as I've not reviewed it, but I did see it in action at the IFA show in Berlin a couple of weeks ago and even tried a bit of gaming on there seemed good from initial impressions but the venue was too bright to see the projector at its best.

    • @noelkog3029
      @noelkog3029 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I myself is on the fence between this and ltv-3000. Aurora PRO seems to win in paper for everything except brightness. So the question is, is this really plenty bright enough or will this leave me wanting for a brighter UST. (I initially plan to use it only on a white wall with no lights on)

    • @vetchris54
      @vetchris54 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@noelkog3029 I just got the AWOL vision 3000 set up. Right now just projecting onto my wall. It is very bright with ambient lighting. It does wash out with direct sunlight, obviously, with any projector with direct sunlight. But as far as ambient lighting, it does fantastic just on the wall. I’m sure it will look even better when I get my ALR screen put up. My living room at night does get very dark, and in very bright scenes, the projector lights up the entire living room. I have no regrets going with this over the Aurora Pro. It also has 2500:1 contrast ratio. Just projecting onto the wall, the blacks look very good.

      @vetchris54 I ended up getting the AWOL LTV-3000 too! It's been great on just the white wall. Even with my 75" TV, I have to block all lights for a better watching experience so I don't mind doing the same when using a projector.

    • @noelkog3029
      @noelkog3029 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

The nexigo with the screen is about $5000-5200. But the AWOL has a bundle that has both for $4k. Is the nexigo worth the price difference especially with it technically having less lumens.

    • @GeekStreet

    I love triple lasers for extra colour gammut but black floor is still the downfall of usts. They need to start prioritizing that. Maybe not jvc levels but at least 5050ub levels would be acceptable

    • @robinv1485
      @robinv1485 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      except all these projectors can do 150" so size it's a non factor most of the time. Sure a 5050ub may get a bit dim at that size, but there's other long throws for those bigger sizes.
      Real films didn't have great blacks, but they were nowhere near as crappy as some of these projectors. They are not even dark grey, they are mid gray at best and that's just unacceptable when more and more content has low APL scenes. It's also worth nothing that we went out of our way to get great blacks, even way back then on those projectors, using silver screens was common, so even back then people were complaining about it.
      I honestly think the reason people accept these is just they never tried something better. Otherwise these wouldn't sell. I can't see someone looking at both and saying, hey I want that one! the one that looks washed out!
      Like even if you want an UST, why not wait until they figure it out and in the meanwhile use a standard projector? You save money, you get 4 times the quality for the same price point. Even if you want to use it during the day, there's now fresnel screens for standard throw.
      There's a reason the Formovie is still the most popular UST, it's the only one with passable black floor.@@skellington2000

    Do you still need an ALR screen if you're only going to be viewing in pitch black room?

    • @GeekStreet
      @GeekStreet  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It should work fine without but definitely worth investing in ALR screen long term

      @@GeekStreet I thought all ALR screens are grey though? If you're viewing in pitch black, isn't that sub-optimal? I thought ALR was only preferred IF you have ambient light, not a dedicated blacked-out cinema room? Correct me if I'm wrong.

    If your pet climbs on it and looks into the laser, will it go blind?

      and how do you connect the laser tv with your PS5 since we can not see the other side of the TV.

    • @GeekStreet

      Yes the screen is 100inchs and I have a 3 meter hdmi 2.1 cable and my console is at the side, not in view of the camera.

      no it cannot. no ALPD 4.0 projector can. It will output 1080/120

      @justinbeamon6624 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It acceptes that as input, but output is still 4k/60.

      @@GeekStreet have you compared them before? In which aspects aurora wins? I mean obviously benq has the best input lag, but for overall? What do you think?

    • @GeekStreet
      @GeekStreet  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @RedZerom I like the fact it has hdmi 2.1 support and is ultra short throw, if you're mainly using for game then BenQ would be best but seriously the having the projector literally next to the screen is awesome.
