I’m considering in purchasing the Roland SP404 my question can you just import WAV files into the unit without out having to sample coming into it, does the A/D conversion does something to the over all signal like older samplers? If not , wouldn’t make more sense to just load the WAV files via SD card into the Roland , that way you could have stereo stems of all your bus channels? And record them individually back into your DAW, and I see your using the Tascam 424 I used to have the 464 back in day but , I would have used the analog 4 track more like a summing mixer and recording the busses on to 2 stereo tracks one for the drums the other for the instruments and vocals or just record a stereo mix into the 4track
Great video! I've been doing almost the same thing, however, I resample directly to my daw by playing my stems and routing my audio into a track in ableton. Is there any reason why you resample first in the sp404?
its kinda less hassle to export sections and or oneshots as WAVs and shift them to the SP404 with that super clunky Roland software? the bpm seems to come over automatically on the sp404A and you can jam out recording whole new versions back in or or just play the stems back in with the required FX on them... at least thats what I´ve started to do. PS your beat is sounding waesome :)
Great stuff, I've been using my 404a for a couple months mostly doing basic thing for performing (I rap and spit poems) and am now diving a little deeper into this magnificent box. Do you have any experience with the Novation Circuit + SP?
This is a really thorough walkthrough on how to use your SP404 for external FX in your tracks

This is another really great video! Thank you. I'll try this out.
Thanks Ross! Glad it helped
this is PRECISELY how I want to use my SP404 with my workflow (on Abelton), so thanks a lot form showing me this
So awesome! Glad that it helps out
Dude I can’t believe I found your channel on tik tok of all places Great channel.
I’m trying to get more tik tok traffic over here- it’s super difficult to get users off that platform!
Glad to have you on board! 🙂
thank you! p.s the final beat through the tascam is straight up 🔥
Appreciate the love ❤️
@ 3:48 you could set auto trigger level to -1 db and automatically record once it hears out (shift+4)
I tried this but got some feedback issues
Liam Killen ahhh ok. I normally have no feed back when I use it but 🤷♂️ Phenomenal video regardless
@@MarcellJjr I'll have to relook into it. And thank you! :-)
great video
I appreciate that SIN!
Best videos in the game!
Haha wow thank you!

Man I got rid of my 404 a couple months ago and this video is making me regret it -- the effects sound so nice!
Yeah the FX are pretty dope
Why? Why did you get rid of it?

I'm not super clear on what you're asking here!
Annnnnndd... Now I want an SP404
I fully support that decision
this track is beautiful. prefer the little faster version.
Yeah that one is way cleaner for sure.
Liam Killen i like the fx and grittyness, but prefer it to be played in original tempo. will you put it on your soundcloud?

Mostly to get that unique grit!
from the 404

would I need a audio interface if I have a line in on my iMac? I can use a pocket operator using the correct cables.
I’m not sure there’s an adaptor rca -> 8th inch but maybe there’s a way.
@@LiamKillen there is. i have one. alternatively, headphone jack with quarter inch adaptor... o__o
✅
lol youre really funny great video
The world can use a lil brightness 🔆
How do u hook it to a pc ?

Do you have any experience with the Novation Circuit + SP?
I haven’t messed with the novation circuit quite yet 🙂
Why use the pads ? Couldn’t you do it straight to your daw, as a live take?
You have the option of doing both!
@@LiamKillen I know! So why bother putting it on the pad?
@@KitCatStudioHow? Does it need to be in a specific “mode” beyond “EXT MODE”?
Are you using a drumkit plugin for those drum sounds? The sound tasty as all hell. Great video.
some of em are from my sample packs!

Why did you turn down the master volume on the 404 when sampling into it? that part had me a little confused 🤔
I made this video a long time ago can you give me a time stamp?
Hahahaha ... haa . HOW IS YOUR SP404 YELLOW ?!
I bought a skin from BROCKBEATS- available off of their Bandcamp 🙂
