I'm really impressed by its quality-of-life features and performance as a sub-150 FPS blaster. It's every bit as good as, if not better than, a stock Nexus. For the price, there's no reason to pass it up.

@@kingofgames234 I'm a little concerned about the stresses that a K25 spring will put on it, but I'm certainly interested in boosting performance to get those 200+ numbers.

Thanks, for the info, went to my nearest Target grab an employee and gave him the DCPI# and they had it in stock and he took me right to it. It was on the back endcap nowhere near the other blasters on the bottom shelf. I told him about the positive reviews on it by multiple foam blaster reviewers that professionally compete, and now he is going to grab one before closing.
That’s so funny! I did the same thing about what I expected it would do. And the guy at the register bought 2 right after as he was getting off.
Reminds me I forgot to talk about how terrible the scar is. Like a Nerf barrel. No usable contact.
Thankfully there is already two free and another paid much better scars you can print
@@mattross9992plus I like the look of the max Stryker muzzle so a pentavictus scar from OOD would fit this perfectly.
@@kingofgames234 There is a triviscus version of the scar on Printables that drops in with the default barrel and front plate. I printed it out earlier and it works very well.
It highlighted a theory of mine that the included darts are actually not bad but that with the default setup they are under barreled and do the weird corkscrew fishtail but the heavier darts do not.
i bought 2 longshots taped both ends of the scars together and it works well
I think it’s a very cool blaster. And $30 is a damn good price, barely a sacrifice.
But I think i am going to skip it as I probably wouldn’t use it, even though I saw how insanely easy it is to mod over 200fps.
Also, just within the original Nerf chat 😂group I’m in (that essentially lead to the Lazy Uncles forming) there has been 4 guys with PT cracks after usage, before modding.
It’s odd but I swear some shipments just just got messed up en route. I know a few people who most of the ones from their target were messed up and some all of them were great.
I got my replacement metal PTs from this guy, much cheaper than the current offerings as well.

Appreciate that your reviews include your perspective from playing games with it. I agree that the ratcheting is nice for younger nerves. My 6 yr old found this easier to prime than the max stryker but the stock was too long for him to comfortably hold. Looking forward to your mod video on it.

I am planning on removing it my self but I have heard a few a few pipe say removing it means they have to really slam the last bit for the blaster catch to release like it did with the ratchet installed.

Probably worth noting: Don't press the short dart release button and the trigger at the same time as they are on the exact same spring. Furthermore, longshot's full length dart mag is compatible with the Double Punch (per my testing).

I got to play with one last week at our local war, and its really accurate out of the box. Definitely a better pick up than the Nexus. Which might lead to the new "go get a Longshot" (Bullshot...shout out to SpyderGiant for the name!) Meme.

My first one had the plunger buffer spring come loose and was making contact with the plunger in the tube when firing. And I babied the blaster. 2nd one is much better

Got it yesterday and I haven’t used it in long range but, the only thing that mattered to me was the mag release.

Hello from the UK. I very much enjoyed your review and based on that and others purhased a Pro Longshot today (27/7/23). Matters arising: a) I bought mine from a company called Smyths Toys. Am unsure whether they're familiar to you and the cost was the equivalent of $45 US, presumably because of extra slipping costs. b) the build quality was much better than I expected, not least the sights weren't as loose as those in some reviews. They would probably benefit from some further tightening however. c) I checked the plunger tube instore on the first blaster I chose and the very helpful store manager helped me unpack it to check the plunger tube for cracks. It was slightly cracked but my second choice blaster was fine. The cracking, therefore, doesn't seem confined to blasters sold in America and am very grateful that you recommended checking the tube before purchase. I wonder whethe the cracking could somehow result from inherent flaws in the plastic. Overall, however, I agree with your opinion that the blaster represents great value - even at the higher UK price. Interestingly, whilst chatting to the chap in the store, I was told that Nerf/Hasbro actually owns Zuru. If so what's that about? Anyway, very good review and I look forward to more in future. The included iron sights are quite slippery, but just like most Picattiny accesories, they are meant to be held by a passing screw (just that it isn't included in these cheap ones). Fixing it only needed a pair of M4 screws and nuts worth a couple cents each (except I already had them, so free).
I wouldn't bother with any other short mag adapter, since the thumb gravity drop is better than any other release. But if you like paddle releases, YMMV.
One thing I noticed for long darts is that this one is VERY susceptible to jams if you fill the mag too much. That standard practice of loading one extra dart above stated capacity? Forget it here. Even more in shorther mags like 10s or 12s (or 6s, tried it for funsies, _impossible_ to load 7 without jamming).
I also found it can single-fire Rival by removing the front barrel attachments. Not an ideal Rival blaster, but pretty hilarious if you manage to return-fire a rival round that way...
Bought the last one from my local target, took it home, and found it had a cracked plunger tube from the store. returned it and had to wait a couple weeks for another one. Frontline foam does sell an $11 metal plunger tube if you're looking to upgrade. I'd suggest replacing the plunger tube with a metal one if you plan on upgrading the spring and pushing the FPS.

I’m not sure my experience was as good as everyone else’s. When I came home to try it out, 30 minutes later, the plunger began coming back really slowly, and eventually it didn’t shoot.
Maybe it didn’t have enough lube in the plunger tube?
Hi I’m looking for a nerf rifle that shoots -100fps within £30-£45 range. I am looking to use it around my house. Pls give suggestions have been looking for so long. Also it needs to be available in UK.
plunger tube breaks easy but with a upgraded spring and tube its a great blaster

How do you stop this thing from jamming on the puul back reload. I get 3 or 4 rounds off and then the foam bullets keep getting jammed in the reload.

What do you mean by “pull back reload”? Does it happen when you switch mags or when in the middle of using a mag?

Just by switching to some K25 that is like a inch longer than the original spring and no other modding, I got this blaster hitting at 260. I can’t wait to make the barrel longer and I bet I can get it up to 280 to 300 range

Would be grateful for some background about Zhenduo. On 28th July I mistakenly ordered their Viper pistol instead of their Fire Rat. I wanted the latter because of the way the slide locks back when the magazine is empty.
I've emailed Zhenduo asking them firstly to switch orders. I then noticed that the Fire Rat was low on stock, so I purchased one. I then emailed Zhenduo asking them to cancel the Viper order. They always seemed to be resting however and I haven't been able to find their opening hours. So, I've stayed up until 2 a.m. UK time thinking that Zhenduo would be open and could clarify whether they've cancelled the Viper order. Guess what, they were resting again. However, at 2-15 today, August 1st, Zhenduo emailed me, saying that the Fire Rat order is "on its way". But I still don't know what's happened to the Viper order and currently don't want it.
Sorry to lay all this on you, but do you know whether Zhenduo often tend to be this tricky to contact? From what I've seen on TH-cam their blasters are always praised and independent reviews I've read have given them good ratings. Many thanks. Allan
This is a tough situation, but unfortunately I’ve only ever ordered one thing from zhenduo. I really can’t speak on their customer service. But keep in mind that as a company not based in your home country, their customer service may not be similar to what you would expect from domestic companies. Sorry you are having a tough time with your order and sorry I couldn’t be more help!

Hello again from the UK. Many thanks for your reply and opinions about Zhenduo. Am pleased to report that fairly soon after contacting you the company e-mailed me to advise that my order for the Viper pistol had been cancelled. I've also received the Fire Rat blaster, which arrived fairly promptly given that it had been sent from China.
Via Etsy have also taken delivery of the Worker Harrier. This seems excellent. I say "seems" because am having to assemble it myself, which I didn't realise at the time of purchase. Although the instructions are pictorial the text is all in one of the Chinese languages. That said, however, my Mandarin is improving almost daily!
Joking apart, many thanks again for your help and all the best.
The rear sight is adjustable. You can slide it side to side about 5mm.😊

@@kingofgames234 A small patch of gorilla tape on the bottom and a couple small screws and they work perfect, on the Nexus Pro. A little tall in front for the Longshot though LOL.

My budget is 40€ (but I live in Greece so things like the nexus pro and gen 3 darts aren't available here)

I actually love the darts that are included, but that's just me.
I’ve noticed more recently that they perform better in tighter ID barrels than the one in the longshot which is great because most hobby grade barrels are tighter than the included barrel.
I was wondering about the X-Shot Scar and i´ve been using it like that, reversed,... 😅
The new dartzone bcar is another great alternative that just drops right in

@@RocZi the plunger tube wont survive even if i didnt upgrade it. Before you do, i wrapped my plunger tube with duct tape to keep it together it works. Then upgraded to a metal one. I check the duck taped tube and its still good as new
i swapped the spring with the dictator spring and it is perfect
did you swap anything else like barrel ? what Fps are you getting and how is the prime?
@@kingofgames234 i dont have a chrono but i guess its getting like 170 and the prime doesnt take a lot of strength. the barrel i kept stock. I just taped both ends of the scars together so the scar part of the attachments are closer to eachother. and put them on the longshot for for accuracy which works. since I had 2 long shots.
@@kingofgames234 but I know with the spring swap it hits a lot more powerful than before, and is quite accurate in my standard from 60 feet.

An extra quarter to short half a coil longer than the stock spring of K25 w a 13mm barrel 1" longee than the stock 14mm.. omg complete waste of alumimum.. barrel and im averaging in the 240s.. all i did was open the front for barrel and spring.. for 30 got darn dollars? Hell yeah.. and the darts are equal ti dz imo

Or you Can look at the DartZone Pro Tournament Winners too on their instagram and TH-cam Channel. I am captain of the team that placed 3rd Nationally 🤷♂️ That venue is where 3 of the pro Teams practice together So yes… we play there at a pro level.
