I have done it and it was ok I also made little cotton holders for Freeze pops and gave a free freeze pop with it. It was much appreciated on a hot day at an outdoor venue. The hardest part was having my husband shuttle me frozen pops from my house.
You know, selling water bottles with the water bottle holders is a brilliant idea, especially with how hot it's getting. You should definitely see if the market will let you do it.
The cat in the cow costume is sooooo cute! I have an opportunity to make festival top and sell them in a local store. I makes me nervous to think about turning my passion into a business... idk if I'm going to or not but we'll see. Hugs! 🤗💖
How exciting for you and Sue to do a market together and I love your idea of a free water with every purchase of the water bottle holder and I can't see how it wouldn't be allowed because there are lots of instances around the world where water bottles are given out freely and I so hope you get accepted for the big market your on the wait list for. I do know of some markets called Milk Mart that a TH-cam called googoogoods attends and actually you might get some good info from her videos about markets around Florida. I'm in Australia so I don't know the landscape where you are but I do know she lives close to Disney because she takes her little twins there a lot but she attends some lovely markets
Yes, do the water give away. If the market doesn't have rules against it, they can't stop you. It is a treat to YOUR paying customers. It's how you do business. 🤑 LOL
That cat reminds me of Chick-fil-A but it would say, "Eat Meow Chicken!" Yeah, Garfield was my favorite smarty pants cat. There are some helpful, free crochet hat size charts online that may be helpful. Those tops you are making have a fun, gypsy kind of vibe - very cool! Love the loaf cat, too!
Love your color choices on your makes! The market bag is so cheerful. And that crazy Halloween bucket hat is awesome. I hope your markets are a lot better than the recent ones you have slogged through 🧡
@@KnottingHookCrochet Yeah I think I am adding the market bag with that variegated yarn on my very long "to be made" list. And I also love the white stripe on your water bottle holder.
i purchased your written pattern for the bucket hat.i wish those tops would look good on me too but those days r over for me back in the day we called them haler tops but they were made out of material. I love your little loaf cat and the orange cat also.i ordered from amazon a book on loaf cats.Sure it should be ok its your water to do with what you want.
Firstly, it’s $200, $100 a day! Phew!! I bought some cotton yarn at Joann’s yesterday when I got the felt for Bluey (I’m going to make a set with Bingo for the Oct market). It’s the kind you don’t like cuz I couldn’t find anything else and I didn’t feel like going any where else. I’m going to make myself a market bag. I think I bought this same color before so i obviously like it. Thought it could keep me busy on the plane! If I have enough left over, I may make a bucket hat too. Have fun at the market with Jenna, way too hot out there, I’ll stay inside where it’s cool! 🦋💖
Ya know I knew $200 but I looked at so many different venues I got a little confused 🤪. If the cotton is the lily sugar and cream that’s what you want for the market bag but one skein isn’t enough. If you’re doing it 2 tone one of each color would be plenty. The larger size skein not the 2oz for the trim. Bluey and bingo in the size you did with those eyes you made. You should be able to get a really good price for those and I’m still home. I haven’t made it over to that watermelon festival yet because Jenna and John are painting Jenna’s room so I was like y’all go ahead and do that. I’m good. It’s hot outside.
Love that market bag❤ I’m still on the fence with them, not even sure what to charge for them if I do🤔 The kitty in the cow suit is so adorable 🥰. Stay cool and happy crocheting 🧶
I love both kitties. They are so cute! I wish I had a partner to share the table fees. I had my 2-day market this past weekend and it was ok but not what I was expecting for a $250 table fee. 🥴
@@KnottingHookCrochet That's what I thought too. But it was not the case. I did 3 four hour markets in March and April. I was averaging a minimum of $100 an hour. The 2-day market was $53 an hour. Don't get me wrong, I still made profit but I was so stressed not knowing if I was going to make my table fee back.😬
A few videos back you were looking for quick makes that were not plushies. How about granny square pouches. Just a large square folded zippered and seamed
This is maybe a stupid question. But when you find free patterns on Instagram, first example, the pocket kitty, do you just follow the pattern from that post? Is there a “summarized” version? I love the little cat and also the geckos you made in another video.
OMG people can be so testy!!! I just did a live video and I only mentioned 1 person. Dang do I need to go and edit?? I wish people would just make a nice comment and keep the nasty out. I have watched you for a long time and you have “matured” in your crochet. Sorry not sure how to say that. You have moved on with the crochet community. I personally like all of your shows!! That bucket hat is awesome so I will make sure when I make one I will link your channel in my video. Keep up the great work!!
Absolutely it would be nice to be able to be a market coordinator that could command that kind of price because it’s such a great venue. That’s so many people show up.
@@KnottingHookCrochet Exactly! I understand that it's a great place so I guess people will pay it to make a good profit! Good luck, it sounds fantastic!!
Ive watched your videos for a few and do enjoy them. But I don't believe you should be making comments about pricing on other vendors. Ive been doing craft fairs for awhile now and have learned that you price your products based on the area and the event. Regardless of what you believe its what that vendor believes is right for them. Ive had folks come up and make those same comments, and I completely ignored them. Because they were making me feel guilty, and I've had others say I like your prices, you are being very fair for everyone to be able to make a purchase. Just be mindful of others' feelings.
This is exactly why I don't normally talking about prices. I did not call out anyone by name, I just spoke of my observation of one vendor that was under charging for her tops and one vendor I felt like she really liked her dragon and wanted to hang on to it for a while. But, Hey, point taken. I will not mention it again!!
You have no right telling the vendor she's underpricing her items ...you know the hard work it takes to make a top but you don't because you make items that are not functional at all ...Keep your comments to yourself about pricing !!
I did not tell her she was under pricing. It was just a thought!! She worked hard on those tops. They were beautiful. Wow get your panties out of a wad!
Love the cat in the cow costume. Absolutely adorable!!

I know how you feel on that. But it gets to a point you have so many makes you need to move some out, hence doing a market.😂

Great makes as always. I love the 2 colours on the market bag. I'm going to try thru child size hat tomorrow. The cat in the cow costume is adorable

Really like the yellow market bag! Yellow is my favorite!💛
Thanks Marsha! I can't say yellow is my favorite color but this bag turned out great.
I made 2 of your mesh market bags this week. Cute pattern! Thanks!

Market bag is so pretty 💜 And that mini loaf cat 😊

I was thinking of small things you could make. I bought cat butt coasters for my sister a few years ago. You could use Toby colors.

For the tops: have you considered doing a foundation chain or a cord stitch for the ties? I wonder if that would work
I'd have to test that out to see if it looked right.
I hope you get called from the waiting list and sell out in the market. Your makes are very well done!

Was wondering why you didn’t credit Passioknit Kelsie for the lily top pattern
Wasn't intentional, just over looked it. I added it to the description. Thanks for pointing it out.
The hat should be taller and make it look like the Cat in the Hat colours then sell it near Halloween as a costume and maybe pair with a his tie.
Make your water bottle carriers in red, white and green for that festival and maybe a few black flecks for seeds 😉
